Korean skincare routines can have up to 10 steps as a cleanser, toner, and moisturizer aren’t enough for a radiant complexion.

There is a specific focus on layering products to ensure that skin is clean, hydrated, and protected, while also targeting any concerns.

The enviable result of the lengthy routine is a dewy appearance that’s free from imperfections and described as “glass skin.”

Charlotte Cho, who is the founder of the brand Then I Met You, said K-Beauty is the “ultimate” ritual for transforming skin.

“K-beauty offers high-quality, effective products that won’t break the bank, making it appealing to beauty enthusiasts across all demographics,” she told The Handbook.

“The products are meticulously formulated with ingredients like snail mucin, ginseng, and fermented rice, which have been used in traditional Korean beauty rituals for centuries.”

Beauty fans on TikTok have gushed about the results they achieved from using Korean products.

Kelly (@kellybellyy02) who has over 74,000 followers, went viral when she reviewed Mediheal’s Ampoule Mask The N.M.F.

“If you’re only going to try one mask then you need to try this one,” she said.

“I’ve used it for so many years and it’s definitely a staple of my skincare routine.”

She recommended leaving it on for up to 20 minutes to hydrate the skin and minimize the appearance of pores.

Online retailer Notino sells the sheet mask which contains hyaluronic acid and ceramides for £2.50.

Krystal Yvette (@krystalkbeauty) inspired her 147,000 followers to try Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm.

She said it’s one of her favourite products to use on her “dry, sensitive skin.”

The buy which has a cult following is available from Hello Seoul for £23.99.

What exactly IS K-beauty?

K-Beauty describes skincare products created with a Korean beauty philosophy in mind, according to Healthline.

A standard Korean skincare routine focuses on prevention and protection to keep the natural complexion thriving.

The number of steps in daily beauty routines can vary but 10 is the most common.

From cleansers, toners, and serums, to moisturizers, K-beauty avoids the use of harsh ingredients that can damage the skin.

Glass skin is commonly used in Korean beauty to describe an appearance that’s “smooth, clear, and intensely hydrated.”

Ester Joy (@esterjoy.ugc.creater) went viral when she said COSRX Advance Snail 96 Mucin Power Essence Gel helped to fade dark spots and improved her skin texture.

The hydrating product that makes skin have a dewy glow is available from Boots for £24.99.

Another affordable K-beauty buy is Dr Jart+ Cicapair Tiger Grass Colour Correcting Treatment, which costs £19.50 at Boots.

Innisfree Green Tea Seed Hyaluronic Serum, which costs £31 at Cult Beauty, has proven popular with beauty fans who want to splurge.

Erborian Eau Ginseng, priced at £36 at Space NK, is another must-have.

Charlotte Cho revealed there’s a specific order to apply K-Beauty products to achieve the best results.

Double cleansing is an essential step for removing makeup, sunscreen and dirt from the skin.

She recommends following this with exfoliation, toner, and then serums.

This helps to buff away dead skin and replenish moisture while also targeting concerns such as acne, discolouration, or anti-ageing.

Cho then recommends using a sheet mask, eye cream, and moisturizer for hydration.

SPF must be worn during the day to protect the skin from damage.
