ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WSPA) – First Lady Jill Biden will be in Asheville Friday to meet with community members and volunteers in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
Biden will arrive at Asheville Regional Airport before traveling to Asheville at noon, according to the White House.
The First Lady visited the World Central Kitchen location in downtown which has been feeding North Carolina residents since Helene hit the area.
Biden worked with volunteers to help cook and package meals.
Hundreds of thousands of meals have been served by the World Central Kitchen in North Carolina.
Helene ravaged western North Carolina, killing nearly 100 people in the state and destroying large swaths of towns.
Former president Donald Trump visited the area earlier this week, making a stop in Swannanoa to meet with relief workers and business owners.
After her stop in Asheville, the First Lady will continue on to campaign events in Fayetteville and Cary, North Carolina.
