JEREMY Clarkson’s girlfriend secretly booked him into a health retreat – but he quit just days later.
The 64-year-old TV presenter – who recently underwent a life-saving operation -previously told how his partner Lisa Hogan encouraged him to do a week-long juice detox with her last year.

Lisa Hogan whisked him off to the health farm where she spent time taking yoga lessons and going cold turkey from coffee and alcohol.
Jeremy summed up his experience as “sweaty, awful sleep and celery juice”.
He wrote in his column for The Times in 2023: “Here’s a tip. If your wife or girlfriend says you’ve been working very hard and that you need a break in a luxury hotel, don’t just nod and go.
“Check the details. Because if you don’t, you could very easily end up, as I did all last week, in a bloody health resort.”
After drinking celery juice, going on runs and sitting in a warm pool of water enriched with salts and revitalising minerals.
“It was all lost on me though,” he added.
“In fact, by Thursday, I was so miserable that I elected to go into hospital and have an operation.
“I was planning to have this procedure done when I got home but it seemed more sensible to get it out of the way on Lisa’s well-deserved break.
“And as I lay there, under the surgeon’s knife, I couldn’t help thinking: ‘This is better’.”
A year on, Jeremy is reflecting on the importance of health once again – after suffering blocked arteries.
The Clarkson’s Farm star was taken by ambulance to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford after noticing “pins and needles” in his left arm.
A stent was then inserted into the blocked artery to keep it open and restore blood flow to the heart.
He has described the incident as a “close call” – admitting he was days from death.
Last night he told The Sun: “I’m very grateful to everyone who sent supportive messages but I’m fine.
“I just have to not do any manual labour or dishwasher emptying for the next four years.
“At least I think that’s what the doctor said.”
Lisa was married for 30 years to Baron Steven Bentinck before they split in 2011.
She shares three children with him — Wolfe, Alice and Lizzy.
Lisa has been dating Jeremy since 2017 after being set up by mutual friends.
However, she doesn’t believe marriage is on the cards for them, explaining that a wedding isn’t “important” to her.
