James “Jimmy” Bleil

James “Jimmy” Bleil, 74 of Moville, passed away Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024, at his residence.

A celebration of life will be held 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26 at the Legion Hall in Moville, IA. During this time military rites will be conducted at noon by the Wink-Sparks Legion Post 303 of Moville and the U.S. Army.

Jimmy was born September 13, 1950, Sioux City, IA the son of Jim and Donna (Hansen) Bleil. Jimmy grew up in rural Kingsley, IA, riding horse sand rodeoing as a child. He attended Kingsley-Pierson School graduating in 1968. Following graduation he was drafted by the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam conflict. Following his honorable discharge he returned home where he worked at Davy’s & Jim’s feed store and hauled turkeys for Galen Harms. Later on he began farming with his Dad, Jim Bleil. Jimmy married Shirley Krueger in 1972, to this union Brooke and Joshua were born. Later they divorced but always remained great friends. He began helping out at the Bleil-Chapman Sale Barn and fed cattle at the stock yards. After doing that he started driving a semi on long hauls all over the United States. He lived in Texas for a couple of years always coming home to Moville often to spend time with his children and family.

Jimmy married the love of his life Sally Verbeski on January 31, 1997. They made their home in Moville for 21 years until Sally passed away in August of 2018. Jimmy remained living in their home with their 2 dogs, Jackson and Molly the II.

Jimmy loved his family, enjoyed golf outings and going to ISU games in the motor home with and Jan and Ron Amick and Dave and Lana Bleil. He received a million mile award for his years of truck driving. He was very patriotic always helping the Wink-Sparks Legion Post 303 supporting fellow veterans and marching in parades. He and Sally loved to travel to Duluth, MN every fall. In the last several years he purchased a travel travel trailer wintering in Arizona with Jeff and Patti Bleil and their families following his nieces and nephews to various rodeos they were involved in.

Survivors include his children, Brooke Bleil (Chad Lewis), Pierson, IA, Joshua Bleil, LeMars, IA and Sara Wilde, Sioux City, IA, grandchildren, Taylor Thomas (A.J. Bonney), Des Moines, IA, Zachary Thomas (Molly Jolie), Moville, IA, Ayvrie, Sawyer and Greyson Van Donge, Pocahontas, IA, Randi and Deanna Wilde, Hartington, NE, Ava, Julia and Clara Blei, LeMars, IA and 2 great granddaughters, Sutton Bonney and Finly Thomas. Also surviving are sisters, Jody (Charlie) Grimes, Orange City, IA, Jan (Ron) Amick, Sioux City, IA, brothers, Jeff (Patti) Bleil, Maricopa, AZ and Jay (Jacque) Bleil, Climbing Hill, IA along with several nieces and nephews.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his spouse, Sally, parents, grandparents, in-law and pups, Reba, D-O-G, Molly and Molly the II.
