I’ve built the ‘world’s TINIEST home’ – it’s as big as a cupboard but has hot water, a kitchen…& another vital appliance

A MAN has built the “world’s tiniest home” that’s as big as a cupboard but boasts vital appliances that larger houses have.

Levi Kelly decided to build the 19.46sqft property in a bid to win a Guinness World Record.

The 27-year-old from West Virginia, US, has included seating, a bed, kitchen, hot water, a toilet, shower and air conditioning in his tiny home.

Levi has also shared the clip of the compact build to YouTube – where it’s attracted tens of thousands of views.

To optimise the tiny space, Levi added a folding bed and moveable toilet while also installing a shower outside.

But for those who are 5ft10 and above, you won’t be able to sleep straight in the tiny home as the bed is too small.

Levi has spent around £3,824 on the project and saved money by using a small trailer he had already.

The YouTuber then started working on it with framing “just like a normal house.”

He said to What’s the Jam: “Exterior is cedar cladding and it is insulted.

“Then I used 2x3in studs to save a little space and weight.”

But the inside has captivated visitors of the mini-home.

Levi added: “Everyone who walks in says ‘wow’.

“People seem to be impressed that everything can fit in such a small space.”

Levi hopes to use the home to go on camping trips with his wife Savannah and their two children.

But he said there were a few things he would change, like the fold-down bed and ventilation.

Levi said: “The space to get into the bed is pretty tight.

“Also, I forgot to add ventilation so the hot air gets trapped at the top.

“I would also make the bench fold out for a larger platform that could be used as a second bed.

“I would also change the battery situation, adding a larger battery and better solar panels for more off-grid usability.”

Despite Levi’s own criticisms, YouTube users can’t get enough of the tiny build.

One commenter said: “Outstanding work at any price but that $5k build total really puts it over the top!”

Another wrote: “This is so clever!! Well done.”

And: “I’m actually impressed Levi, great job.”

Levi claims to have broken the record, but is yet to be confirmed by Guinness World Records.
