Tonight’s ITV News has been dramatically cut short after bosses attempted to fit in the highly-anticipated interview.

The national bulletin will take to the airwaves at 6:30pm as usual, however the programme will only be half an hour long.

At 7pm, Boris, 60, will sit down with veteran news anchor Tom Bradby ahead of the release of his memoir, Unleashed.

He will be quizzed about his time in office after the Conservatives were ousted from power in a landslide result in the 2024 General Election.

This will be followed by Emmerdale at 7:30pm and an hour of Coronation Street at 8pm.

This comes after the BBC was forced to axe their planned interview with the politician.

Presenter Laura Kuenssberg had to abandon her own chat after she accidentally sent Boris her briefing notes.

The former Political Editor admitted to the “embarrassing and disappointing” blunder, as she said “honesty is the best policy”.

In a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, she wrote: “While prepping to interview Boris Johnson tomorrow, by mistake I sent our briefing notes to him in a message meant for my team.

“That obviously means it’s not right for the interview to go ahead.

“It’s very frustrating, and there’s no point pretending it’s anything other than embarrassing and disappointing, as there are plenty of important questions to be asked.

“But red faces aside, honesty is the best policy. See you on Sunday.”

The star has presented the flagship programme, Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg show for two years.

On top of political figures, her recent interviews have included the likes of Kate Winslet and Earl Spencer.

The former Tory leader is also doing interviews with Sky News and GB News ahead of publication.
