TWICKENHAM STADIUM could be set for a huge overhaul that would include reducing capacity and links to Britain’s biggest train station.
The home of English rugby, currently named the Allianz Stadium, has been in operation for 115 years.

But after the 2027 Six Nations it is being proposed the ground will be closed for 10 months as they bid to turn it into a multi-purpose arena.
The Mail have revealed the plans outlined in a 60-page document which hope to rejuvenate the venue.
One of those involves title sponsor Allianz investing their £100million pledge into blue seats and a wrap-around LED board.
They would also use the roof for sponsorship purposes as it is a prime location being underneath Heathrow Airport’s flight path.
Also included is the idea of cutting the capacity to tackle fans’ issues with the tight seating at Twickenham.
Detailed drawings in the plans show seat width and length increases, while fans are also shifted closer to the pitch.
This would mean less people have to get out of their seats to allow others to get to the bars and toilets.
The potential for concourses to be widened is also been explored.

However, this would mean a decrease in capacity from 82,000 to 80,000.
Improving transport links is another key change those working on Twickenham are keen to address.
One idea is to create a “West London Orbital” rail interchange which would provide the nearby Hounslow station with a link to the HS2 hub Old Oak Common – set to become the biggest station in the country.
And the final major addition is expected to be the improvement of the hospitality sector in the stadium.
The architects of Tottenham‘s stadium, which contains a host of food and drink establishments, have been heavily involved in the Twickenham plans.
An increase in “catering options and communal areas” could see the stadium open its doors to more than the three concerts a year they currently put on.
This could involve moving the Rugby Football Union’s offices out of the stadium to increase hospitality space.
Other expansion ideas include building more women’s toilets and upgrading the car parking facilities.
