Customers at a major Australian bank have reported that they can no longer access its website and app, while staff are working ‘urgently’ to resolve the problem.
Nearly 1,300 people reported problems accessing ING Australia’s banking services on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Down Detector website.
ING said it is “aware that some customers are currently experiencing difficulties accessing the ING website and app and delays in making and receiving payments.”
‘Our team is urgently working on a solution to this problem. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” the bank said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Customers wrote on the social media platform that they had not been able to access the ING Australia website and app for several hours.
‘Any feedback regarding your app and website being down would be helpful… if you’re ready. All good, just got bills to pay,” said one user.
‘It only took your company 4.5 hours to let us know. Cheers for the heads up. I don’t think I can expect much better from ING. I think it’s time to switch to a real bank.’
‘Website and app offline…….! I can’t seem to access or log in to make transactions,” said another.

‘So no attempts to report that all banking is at a standstill and that we cannot make any transactions?’ wrote one.
‘What happens to your internet banking website? It’s been out all morning – and nothing is said about this? Bad service,” said one customer.
Although the bank had responded to individual messages on her X account, no statement had been posted on the bank’s profile page as of 1 p.m. Wednesday.
There’s more to come.
