Danielle (@danicakesbakes) has over 30,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares her love of baking.

She unexpectedly went viral on the social media app when she switched from posting cakes to sharing a cleaning tip.

She advised against scrubbing grease from oven windows in favour of using a hack she learned on Pinterest.

“Take half a cup of baking soda, more if necessary,” she said.

“Mix in a little water at a time until smooth.

“Cover the oven window with the solution and let it soak for at least 20 minutes.”

Danielle demonstrated how to make the white paste and spread it across the oven door.

She then poured warm water infused with vinegar and slices of lemon to rinse.

The scrubbing side of her sponge was used to remove any stubborn spots.

“Wipe clean with a wet sponge,” she added.

The oven window sparkled like new after she used a paper towel to dry the surface.

Almost 16,000 people liked the video and many saved it to watch again.

Commenters were impressed by the hack and desperate to try it for themselves.

“Seriously, I’ve been scrubbing and scrubbing trying to get this mess off. Thank you,” one person wrote.

“Thank you great tip,” another said.

“Will do this tonight!! Thanks,” a third chimed in.

The household items you’re not cleaning often enough

IF you want to ensure your home is squeaky clean, you’ll need to listen up. Below are the household items you’re forgetting to clean, and how to get them sparkling…

Remote Controls: Wipe with a disinfectant cloth. Use a cotton bud for crevices.

Light Switches: Wipe with a disinfectant wipe. Use a mild soap solution for tough stains.

Door Handles: Clean with an antibacterial spray. Wipe down regularly.

Underneath and Behind Appliances: Vacuum or sweep regularly. Mop with a suitable cleaner.

Shower Curtains and Liners: Wash in the washing machine. Use a bleach solution for stubborn mildew.

Kitchen Sponges and Dishcloths: Microwave damp sponges for one minute. Wash dishcloths in the washing machine.

Computer Keyboards and Mice: Use compressed air to remove debris. Wipe with a disinfectant wipe.

Others recommended removing the glass window from the door before doing the hack for a deeper clean.

“You know you can take the door off for easier cleaning by clicking the two metal hinges,” one person said.

“Uh, life hack – the glass comes out with two screws removed,” another said.

“Run it through the dishwasher, comes out like a new oven.”
