I tested how ‘bulletproof’ the Tesla Cybertruck really is – I was shocked by the results after firing from all sides

A TESLA Cybertruck owner decided to test just how bulletproof the electric vehicle really is – and he was left shocked by the results.

Elon Musk, Tesla‘s billionaire owner, has long claimed that the Cybertruck is bulletproof and can protect its occupants against gunfire.

Adult film star Dante Colle put that to the test in a recent video posted to his X account, which shows him firing at the $100k vehicle with a handgun in the middle of an open field.

In the video, which has since gone viral, Colle shoots into the back of the EV and produces a large hole to the exterior.

At first, it appears the bullet had penetrated the Cybertruck’s bodywork, and Colle can be seen dropping his handgun in shock moments after.

Clearly amused at his reaction, a woman filming the clip can even be heard saying: “I don’t think it’s bulletproof, Dante.”

However, on closer inspection, it appears the round merely lodged inside the Tesla and did not go through.

On a second attempt, Colle then fires a round at the side of the vehicle.

Here, the bullet clearly ricochets off the side and leaves a visible dent, but does not penetrate the Cybertruck.

“It worked!” Colle said to the camera after the second attempt.

The Cybertruck, which was released in 2023, has indeed been designed to be bulletproof, although the effectiveness of the body panels depends on the type of gun used to shoot at it.

Its body is made of Ultra-Hard 30X Cold-Rolled stainless steel, which is designed to withstand impact from a 9 mm handgun round.

However, the Cybertruck’s glass is not bulletproof.

Armored options are available too, a designer and manufacturer of armored cars, offers an upgraded armoring process for the Cybertruck.

This can make it bulletproof against high-powered assault rifles and other weapons.

The armored Cybertruck also comes with bulletproof glass, bomb blankets, and run flat tires.

This comes as a major police department has splashed out on a $150,000 Tesla Cybertruck – but it won’t be used to chase criminals.

Elsewhere, a popular mechanic has reviewed the Cybertruck, said it felt like a rollercoaster, and wondered how it was legal to drive.

He wondered if the headlights and large windshield would make it illegal.
