A BEAUTY enthusiast is advising those keen on getting their eyebrows done to be cautious about the procedure they choose.
Hannah Chan shared her experience of having her eyebrows microbladed, only to find that three years later, she was still not satisfied with the results.

Now, she is urging others to think carefully before opting for this treatment.
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic procedure designed to enhance and shape the eyebrows.
Much like a tattoo, a qualified beautician uses a specialised handheld tool with fine, needle-like blades to create hair-like strokes that mimic the natural appearance of eyebrow hairs.
The treatment involves numbing the area to minimise discomfort before beginning the process.
Initially, the results may appear darker than expected, but the colour usually softens over a few weeks as the skin heals.
The procedure is considered semi-permanent because the pigment fades over time, generally lasting between one to three years, depending on lifestyle, skin type, and aftercare.
Hannah shared a video on her TikTok page @realhannahchan, urging those interested in the treatment to watch her video first.
Speaking to the camera, she says: “If you’ve ever considered getting your eyebrows microbladed, watch this video.
“I had mine done three years ago; they told me it was meant to fade within a year, and this is how they looked initially. Straight off the bat, they were already way too dark.
“After a year, I messaged them to ask if this was normal, and they said it would gradually fade.
“Three years later, they faded to this ugly green-black colour, and this is the colour they settled at.
“After debating whether to get them removed for the past year or so, I finally went to my first laser tattoo removal session. I’m not wearing any makeup.
“The tattoo artist says I have to go in for a second session to remove the orange.
“If you’re considering getting your brows microbladed, just consider the fact that there’s a chance they might not come off, and you might have to get them removed.”

She also clarified in the comments section: “This video isn’t to stop girls from getting their brows done.
“My advice: ask to see pics of LONG TERM results! Not just what they post on Insta. I made the mistake of choosing a place just based on their Instagram pictures.”
Her video gained a lot of attention, with 600 people rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One wrote: “That is NOT microblading. Looks shaded and ink used should lighten true to colour. I’m sorry you had such a bad experience!”

A second added: “Tbh they don’t come off. I’ve never met anyone who faded after they were dark enough to be visible.”
To which Hannah replied: “That’s so crazy because I was told multiple times they would fade completely after a year.”
Another said: “Thank you for the transparency!! I don’t think I can do anything permanent or semi-permanent because I’m too scared of stories like this…”
And Hannah replied: “Yeah… I loved them in the beginning when I liked a dramatic look, but as the colour faded it looked super unnatural.”
What is the ‘eyebrow blindness’ trend?
The trending term is being used by people referring to their former looks, which they thought of as on-trend at the time but can see were a total fail now looking back.
While big bushy brows are trendy at the moment, thin, sculpted ones were more popular back in the 90s.
With many people regretting the fact they’d over-plucked their brows and left them so thin.
The ‘blindness’ term has also been used to refer to other parts of the appearance that people regret – such as massive fake lashes, migrated filler or patchy, overloaded fake tan.
