The red-headed beauty showed how she was getting lots of new hair growth around her hairline.

While it might have looked crazy – it was proof that her beauty trick worked and was stimulating new hair to be grown, while keeping the hair she already had thick.

“Remember consistency is KEY in Your Hair Growth Journey,” she revealed.

In the clip she showed off the derma roller she was using along her scalp to promote new hair growth.

The derma roller has tiny micro needles that you gently roll over the scalp to increase blood flow to the area and promote new hair growth.

While there are some risks that come along with using it, many people have praised the results, including Avrin.

While Avrin used a slightly more expensive model of a derma roller – you can buy them for a fraction of the price.

Amazon currently sells a derma roller for just £7.99 which has been given a sparkling review of 4.2 stars out of five by 3,000 people.

“Love my purchase, perfect for at home Micro needling, highly recommend,” wrote one.

Another added: “This roller is excellent quality and easy to use.”

The clip has since gone viral on her TikTok account @avrinbrill with over 3 million views and 94,000 likes.

People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments and thank her for the advice.

One person wrote: “I need this.”

Another commented: “Yes!!! Dermatologist told me I’d never regrow my hair (traction alopecia). Bought one of those and used rosemary and well, the dermatologist was wrong.”

Derma rolling FAQ

Derma rolling, also known as microneedling, involves using a device called a derma roller that contains hundreds of tiny needles. It is believed to stimulate hair growth by increasing blood flow to the scalp and encouraging the production of collagen. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to use a derma roller for hair, along with some potential risks:

1. Choose the Right Derma Roller: – Select a derma roller with needle lengths between 0.5mm and 1.5mm for the scalp. Shorter needles are less invasive, while longer needles may provide more significant results but also carry more risk.

2. Clean Your Scalp: – Wash your hair and scalp thoroughly with a gentle shampoo to remove any dirt, oil, or product build-up.

3. Disinfect the Derma Roller: – Soak the derma roller in isopropyl alcohol for about 10 minutes to ensure it is properly sanitised.

4. Section Your Hair: – Divide your hair into sections to ensure you cover the entire scalp evenly.

5. Start Rolling: – Gently roll the derma roller over your scalp, applying minimal pressure. Roll in multiple directions: vertically, horizontally, and diagonally. Aim for 10-12 passes in each direction per section. – Focus on areas where hair thinning or hair loss is more prominent.

6. Aftercare: – Apply a soothing serum or oil, such as aloe vera or a specialised hair growth serum, to the treated areas. – Avoid washing your hair for at least 24 hours after treatment to allow the scalp to heal.

7. Frequency: – Use the derma roller once a week or as recommended by a healthcare professional. Overuse can lead to irritation and damage.

Risks and Considerations

1. Infection: – If the derma roller is not properly sterilised or if the scalp is not clean, there is a risk of infection. Always ensure both the device and your scalp are clean before use.

2. Irritation and Redness: – Microneedling can cause temporary redness, irritation, and swelling. This is generally mild and should subside within a few days.

3. Bleeding: – Minor bleeding can occur, especially if using longer needles. This should stop quickly, but if it persists, consult a healthcare professional.

4. Scarring: – Incorrect use or excessive pressure can lead to scarring. Follow the guidelines carefully and avoid overuse.

5. Allergic Reactions: – Be cautious when applying products post-treatment. Some serums or oils may cause allergic reactions on the freshly treated scalp.

6. Pain: – Some discomfort is normal, but if you experience significant pain, you may be applying too much pressure or using needles that are too long.

7. Not Suitable for Everyone: – People with certain skin conditions, such as eczema, psoriasis, or severe acne, should avoid derma rolling. Consult a healthcare professional if you have any concerns.
