TWO professionals drove 500 miles to clean a car covered in mold – but were disappointed when they were met with a black screen inside the electric vehicle.
The pair traveled for seven hours from Cleveland, Ohio, to Decatur, Illinois, after a new owner bought an abandoned Tesla and hired them to detail it.

WD Detailing said in their YouTube video that they first got the call about the “moldiest Tesla in the world” and had to check it out for themselves.
After the long drive, the pair were shocked to find the 2015 Tesla Model S, which was covered in moss and sawdust from trees that had recently been cut down nearby.
“I think it looks worse than the pictures that we saw,” one of the detailers said.
“It’s been sitting for a while,” the pair agreed.
“How does a car even get like this?” they asked the new owner, Chad.
Chad revealed that the previous owner died, leaving the EV to sit outside for about two years.
“This has to be the dirtiest Tesla that’s not in a salvage yard in the United States,” the YouTubers said.
Chad said it was a “shame that the car ended up looking like this.”
However, the new owner replaced the car’s battery and charged it using his Cybertruck as a power bank.
Chad said after the car was detailed, he planned to give the vehicle a brand new life.
“We’ll try our best to make it new again. Hopefully it never ends up like this again,” Chad said.
However, there’s one key problem – the Tesla’s main display screen was dead.
“So we can’t read or tell anything that’s wrong without the screen,” Chad said.
He said he was set to clean the car and get it registered in his name so that he could go to Tesla with the problem.
Inside the Tesla Model S
The Tesla Model S is an electric vehicle that American carmaker Tesla has produced since 2012.
The four-door car, built for speed and range, is the automaker’s longest produced model.
The full-sized car has five seats with a heavy battery pack in the car’s floor.
The vehicle has a 17″ touchscreen in the front that works as a control panel which also offers navigation and other features.
Without the touchscreen interface, there’s not much a Tesla owner can do to operate the vehicle.
Luckily, the blue EV was able to drive a short distance to get into the duo’s truck so it was able to be transported to Naperville for a deep cleaning.
“I can’t believe this thing moves,” one of the professionals said.
After hours of cleaning and polishing, the duo said the Tesla turned out to be “the best transformation we’ve ever had on this channel.”
They brought the car back to Chad, who was pleasantly surprised with the finished product.
“It’s like another car,” the new owner said.
Since they can’t read the car, he said he was in contact with Tesla, who could access the car remotely.
Chad said Tesla will “tell us what the errors are and give us a price tag.”
