‘I can’t unsee this!’ people groan after noticing John Lewis’ £15 ‘pumpkin’ cushions look like something VERY different

WHEN it comes to autumnal decor, pumpkins are pretty much top of the list.

And while people hunt the high street for the perfect fall ornaments, there are some cushions from John Lewis that are turning heads for all the wrong reasons.

One proud customer took to the reviews section to share a snap of the cushion sitting at the end of their bed[/caption]

One shopper took to TikTok to share a video showing the cushions on the shelf in her local Waitrose supermarket.

While the designer had clearly hoped the cushions would tick the neutral trend box, thanks to their cream outer layer and brown stalk, they ended up looking more like breasts than squashes.

“Pumpkin t**s in Waitrose,” Carrie wrote over the top of the clip.

And the comments section was almost immediately flooded with people left in hysterics by the comparison, with one writing: “Oh no, I work at Waitrose and can’t unsee this!”

“Now I can’t unsee it!” another laughed.

“That’s a bit unfortunate,” a third giggled.

“Omg the way this made me laugh!” someone else said.

“Glad I don’t work there anymore or I’d spend all shift laughing,” another admitted.

“Who approved these?” someone else wondered.

As another replied: “Sorry but using flesh colour? They knew what they were doing…!”

“They had the same ones in Aldi a couple of weeks ago in various ‘skin’ colours,” someone else laughed.

“I’m pleased I’m not the only childish person to see them!”

“AHHH my mum bought two of these. I’m gonna go tell her,” another said.

On the John Lewis website, the £15 cushions are described as a “squishy, seasonal accessory for a bed or sofa, made from soft, fleecy fabric”.

And one person proudly shared a picture of one of the cushions on the end of her bed, as she wrote in the reviews section: “I really enjoy adding seasonal touches to my home so this is a perfect addition.

“The Boucle fabric gives it a modern edge and the colour is a lovely neutral which blends with many of my existing home furnishings.

Tacky Halloween decorations

Interiors expert Miriam Gomez revealed the seven mistakes that are making your Halloween decorations look tacky.

  • Too much orange and black can make your home look like a Halloween shop.
  • Plastic tombstones come across as cartoonish rather than spooky.
  • Too many lights can be overwhelming, mix in some candles instead.
  • Fake materials and too much glitter can make your house look cheap.
  • Loud repetitive sounds can be incredibly annoying for you and your neighbours.
  • Inflatable garden decor look tacky and can float into your neighbour’s garden.
  • Not embracing classic elements such as carved pumpkins.

“Very pleased with this cushion and will enjoy bringing it out year after year!”

Other people insisted the cushions reminded them more of an In The Night Garden character – Makka Pakka.

“No, they just look like a faceless Makka Pakka,” one wrote.

“Makka Pakka Pumpkin,” another said.

As a third wondered: “Why does it also look like a makka pakka pumpkin?”
