TODAY co-anchor Hoda Kotb has announced her departure from the morning show.
Kotb has been part of the beloved morning show since 1998, stepping into the co-anchor role five years ago.
She made the shocking announcement through tears during Thursday morning’s broadcast.
“So I was doing the math, and I realized I have spent 26 years at NBC – be cool, be cool,” Kotb started.
“I just turned 60, and it was such a monumental moment for me when I turned 60 years old…What does that decade mean?…And I realize it was time for me to turn the page at 60, and to try something new.”
Kotb will depart the show in early 2025.
Fans were stunned by the announcement – and quick to share their thoughts on social media.
“I’m crying so much right now,” one fan wrote on X.
