Dhanteras is such a festival, which requires the worship of Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Dhanvantari, and Kuber; it occurs every year on Trayodashi Tithi during Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This year, Dhanteras festival will occur on 29 October 2024, as Trayodashi Tithi will begin at 10:31 am on that day and end at 1:15 pm on 30 October.
Puja on Dhanteras holds importance. It is performed especially during Pradosh Kaal. In the year 2023, auspicious Puja time will be available from 6:31 pm on 29 October to 8:13 pm on the same day. Muhurat in a week for worship of Lord Dhanvantari, Mata Lakshmi, and Kuber.
On Dhanteras, wake up early morning take bath and clean the temple of your house. In the evening Pooja Prarambh of Lord Ganesha, Lakshmi, and Dhanwantari with auspicious time, light lamp, apply tilak, and offer bhog. End Puja by performing aarti.
It is also the day of Dhanteras, especially when there is the celebration of the birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari. It is said that on this day, Lord Dhanvantari appeared along with the Amrit Kalash from the Samudra Manthan. According to this event, buying utensils on this day has become a tradition. Besides it, shopping done on this day is believed to reap 13 times more benefits in the future.
