Fox Sports reject huge Tom Brady offer from Netflix with streaming service set for Christmas Day NFL first

TOM Brady will not be working Christmas Day this year – not as a broadcaster anyway.

The NFL icon was subject of negotiations between Fox Sports and Netflix over special appearance.

Brady, 47, is in the early stages of his new commentary career with Fox.

And, according to the New York Post, Netflix made an inquiry to utilize his services for their NFL debut.

Netflix will broadcast two games on Christmas Day in the 2024 season.

The first will see the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Pittsburgh Steelers before the Baltimore Ravens take on the Houston Texans.

Fox rejected an offer from Netflix to use Brady and his broadcast partner Kevin Burkhardt on one of the games, the Post reported.

The report also detailed the new names that Netflix is targeting for their games.

CBS Sports stars Ian Eagle and Nate Burleson are said to be in consideration.

And Ian’s son Noah, who excelled on NBC’s Olympics basketball coverage, is also a target.

Netflix has also shown an interest in Fox’s Greg Olsen, who was part of the top team before Brady arrived.

Brady has worked with Netflix in the past, notably on his roast this summer.

But he will have Christmas Day off and watch the games on television like the rest of America.

Fox will air games on Sunday, December 22 and Sunday, December 29 which Brady is likely to be on air for.

NFL games this season will feature on no fewer than seven different broadcasters.

Fox and CBS share the Sunday afternoon slate at 1pm and 4pm ET.

NBC holds the rights to Sunday Night Football in prime time as well as some Thursday clashes and occasional Peacock specials.

Amazon Prime Video is the home of Thursday Night Football throughout the season.

ESPN, meanwhile, shows Monday Night Football live with some games also on their ABC station.

NFL Network is showing some games on their own channel, including International Series fixtures in London, England.

And Netflix has entered the party with the double header on Christmas Day.

This year’s Super Bowl in New Orleans, Louisiana, will be shown live on Fox.
