Flashes opened their season with a 64-32 win over Jackson Victors

Vicksburg, Ms-St. Aloysius boys’ basketball team opened their season with a win against Jackson Victors in a 64-32 victory.

”We played as a team and we didn’t let down even though we didn’t have our full team,” Carson Gleese said. “We’re gonna stay confident and trust in each other’s abilities to bring home another win tomorrow.”

Carter Henderson got the first points of the season as the Flashes quickly went on a 15-0 run in the first quarter. Layups coming from Anthony McCloud, Carson Henderson, and Carson Gleese along with a 3-pointer from Tre Lee helped St. Al to a 21-5 lead.

Lanier Lambiotte and McCloud both opened the second quarter with three-pointers as St. Al went up 32-16 at halftime.

Coming out of halftime, Gleese got the Flashes on the board from a layup and two free throws. Carson Henderson nailed a 3-pointer and Gleese followed up with one of his own as the Flashes took a 52-22 lead going into the fourth quarter.

McCloud controlled the inside during the fourth quarter as Carson Henderson popped another 3-pointer to secure the season opener win.

Gleese finished with a triple-double which featured 17 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds. McCloud ended the night with 15 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Carson Henderson also had 15 points and three rebounds while Carter Henderson added six points and six rebounds.

Lee(4 steals) and Lambiotte both had five points and Patrick Southerland hit a free throw.
