Finland 1 England 3: Trent Alexander-Arnold stunner seals win as Lee Carsley’s side bounce back from Greece horror show

ENGLAND survived a few scares as they bounced back from defeat to Greece with an unconvincing win in Helsinki.

Jack Grealish opened the scoring after 18 minutes after linking well with Angel Gomes before trucking the ball under the goalkeeper.

It was his fourth England goal[/caption]

But England did not build on their lead and struggled to create goalscoring chances – as was the case against Greece.

Except on this occasion the opposition were far more wasteful with their efforts on goal, with striker Fredrik Jensen blazing over from six yards out.

Lee Carsley played plenty of attacking talent with Harry Kane returning to the line-up, but the likes of Cole Palmer and Jude Bellingham struggled to create.

Fortunately for England they now have a set-piece specialist in their ranks in Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Liverpool star put England in control with a brilliant free-kick that struck the top corner – his fourth England goal.

Declan Rice then capped off the win by tapping in Ollie Watkins’ cross from two yards out.

However there was still time for a consolation as Arttu Hoskonen headed in from a corner at the near post.
