Fast Eddie’s Bon Air welcomes new co-owners

ALTON, Ill. – A local entrepreneur and his family embark on a new business venture as co-owners of Fast Eddie’s Bon Air, a beloved restaurant in Alton, Illinois.

Ross Laux and Dawn Laux have officially purchased half of the restaurant’s ownership stakes and plan to take over day-to-day operations, according to a Facebook post from Ross.

Eddie Scholar Jr., son of Fast Eddie’s founder Eddie Scholar Sr., will retain half of the restaurant’s ownership.

“This is more than just a dream or a goal to me, it’s like making it to the pros,” said Ross Laux on his investment into Fast Eddie’s. “My mission is to continue making this place the greatest bar in the world but while pushing it forward. I’ll be listening to and learning from the place itself, hearing from the employees, and connecting with the customers to understand how we can evolve and improve. The Sholar family have built such an unbelievable place for people to gather and celebrate, I hope to just add to the legacy that the family has started.”

Fast Eddie’s Bon Air is located at 1530 E. 4th Street near the Alton Riverfront. The venue, which caters exclusively to customers 21 and older, is renowned for its “Big Elwood” on a stick, half-pound burgers, drink specials and live music entertainment, among other features.

Ross Laux is also the owner of Laux Brickhouse Grille in nearby Bethalto, Illinois.
