Police had to shut down a postgame illegal sideshow in East L.A. following the Dodgers 4-2 win over the New York Yankees in Game 2 of the World Series.
Video obtained by KTLA shows fireworks being launched and drivers doing burnouts at the intersection of Whittier and Atlantic boulevards after 9 p.m. Saturday.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputies were seen forming a skirmish line and heard ordering people to disperse since they were in violation of the law.
Officials were also seen attempting to redirect traffic away from the area, so that the street takeover didn’t grow and that passersby could maneuver around it.
It was not immediately known if anyone was injured or if any arrests were made.
Previously, after the Dodgers won the NLCS against the New York Mets, fans also engaged in multiple street takeovers across Los Angeles County.
In September, California Gov. Gavin Newsom signed four bills aimed at cracking down on street takeovers and racing across the state.
