And Irvin, 58, was seen on his hands and knees and pounding the turf with his fist.

The NFL Hall of Fame wide receiver played four seasons with the Miami Hurricanes from 1984 to 1987.

The ex-receiver still clearly has a strong attachment to his alma mater.

He was in visible distress was the Hurricanes trailed in the fourth quarter.

And fans were worried after seeing him lose it on live television.

“Get up off your hands and knees my brotha,” one fan wrote.

“On all 4s on a national broadcast is NASTY work,” another posted.

A third said, “Why you gotta have the camera on him like that?”

“He’s wilding out,” another commented.

Miami staged an incredible fourth-quarter comeback to beat California 39-38 in a thriller.

They scored 21 points to three in the final quarter – to the delight of Irvin and the Hurricanes fans who traveled across the country.

After Miami, Irvin drafted No. 11 overall by the Dallas Cowboys and spent his entire 11-year career there.

Irvin won three Super Bowls during his time with the Cowboys before retiring in 1999.

He was a five-time Pro Bowler and inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2007.

The former wide receiver then turned to a media career and was an analyst for NFL Network.

Irvin was a popular part of GameDay Morning before being replaced this year.

He also had a spell on FS1 morning show Undisputed before it was axed this season.

Irvin had been with NFL Network for 15 years before being let go.

He was one of several members of their on-air team to be cut earlier this year.

In addition to Irvin; Melissa Stark, Andrew Siciliano, Will Selva, and James Palmer were also let go.
