Electric wallpaper to change home heating forever as high-tech alternative warms room in 3 mins and slashes energy bills

A NEWLY released invention could change homes forever by quickly heating rooms without driving up energy bills.

NexGen Heating just started installing electric wallpaper in homes to promote sustainability while saving consumers cash.

The wallpaper uses electric-powered infrared lights to completely warm a room in just 3 minutes[/caption]

The wallpaper is being trialed in Glasgow, Scotland, where homes are some of the oldest and worst insulated in Europe, Express & Star reported.

The average Scottish home loses heat three times faster than other houses in Europe, and Glasgow alone is behind a significant percentage of carbon emissions in the UK.

NexGen hopes to make a dent in these issues with its infrared-powered wallpaper that radiates heat from the ceilings on demand.

Instead of blowing heat through a spacious room, the wallpaper creates a “warm zone” in just three minutes that feels like “gentle sunshine on your skin,” the company says.

“That means you can turn off the heating all day if you’re out of the house, and only heat the bedrooms a few minutes before bedtime,” NexGen’s website reads.

The creative product is not only cheap to power but also cheap to maintain as it isn’t filled with “moving parts” that require regular maintenance.

Plus, the infrared penetrates directly into walls, which evaporates moisture and eliminates damp and mold.

“We offer a 15 year warranty as standard,” the company says.

Twelve apartment buildings in Glasgow have been installed with the wallpaper after months of trial ended in “excellent feedback,” Andrew Kubski with West of Scotland Housing Association said.

Using artificial intelligence-enabled analytics and interviews with tenants, engineers could fine-tune their products for the best results.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to work with both the University of Glasgow and University of Strathclyde to bring a thorough academic lens to the effectiveness of the electric wallpaper.”

What is electric wallpaper?

BRITISH technology company NexGen has released a bizarre alternative heating solution for homes – electric wallpaper.

The wallpaper saves on energy costs by using electricity to heat spaces in just three minutes.

The heat comes from infrared light that creates a “warm zone” in the ceilings of houses.

The warmth radiates through the ceilings of homes, which helps to evaporate water and prevent molding.

The wallpaper is cheap to use, and, when combined with solar power, can be a zero carbon heating solution.

ZERO CARBON SOLUTION

NexGen hopes its wallpaper will create zero-carbon solutions to limit the amount of CO2 emitted into the Earth’s atmosphere.

When combined with solar panels and batteries, the wallpaper will have zero environmental footprint.

Because of the wallpaper’s design, the heating solution can also warm hard-to-reach places that would normally be plagued by drafts.

“NexGen’s far infrared heats people and objects directly and does not rely on air to transmit warmth,” the company says.

“NexGen also stores energy (‘thermal mass’) in the fabric of the room, so the room cools down more slowly.

“This helps to make NexGen less sensitive to poor insulation. NexGen is a great alternative for hard-to-heat homes.”

The U.S. Sun has reached out to NexGen to hear whether the products will be accessible outside Scotland.

Those living outside Glasgow can save money on energy bills by maximizing their home’s efficiency.

Patrick Garner, an engineer and heating installation manager, gave tips on slashing energy bills this winter in an exclusive conversation with The U.S. Sun.

The heating expert shared four key tips to help you prepare your home for the colder weather.
