EastEnders’ Dean Gaffney reveals ‘Benidorm hell’ in bleak vids – as Brits were warned to avoid hotspot & boozing rules

EASTENDERS actor Dean Gaffney has shared a look at his bleak Benidorm holiday that has left him reconsidering his choice of holiday location.

The TV star, 46, has been sunning himself in the once-thriving Spanish hotspot but the realities of life in Benidorm have turned his trip into one he would rather forget.

Dean, known for his love of a luxury over-the-top holiday to Ibiza and Dubai, has been left seriously underwhelmed by the holiday destination amid his current trip.

Benidorm was recently slapped with brand new boozing rules which appear to have dramatically shifted its once-thriving nighttime antics and economy.

Taking to his Instagram stories, the Robbie Jackson actor shared a video of a rather empty-looking bar.

A few revellers could be seen dancing on the mostly empty dancefloor as Dean questioned in a caption: “Reconsidering… do I stay or go to Dubai?”

He then followed it up with another rather embarrassing video of a completely empty bar with a singer belting his heart out to the absent crowd.

Earlier this year, Benidorm officials issued new rules in a bid to crackdown on alcohol-fuelled British holidaymakers visiting the seaside resort.

Over the summer, a series of street closures were required as well as many bars and pubs being unable to serve alcohol in glasses past the time of 6pm.

Elsewhere, Benidorm has been plagued by a new reputation of being a hotspot for thievery.

A Benidorm-based TikTok creator recently spoke out about the realities of what can really happen when holidaying in the abroad destination.

Speaking in a video earlier this year, the content creator revealed that Brits ought to be vigilant in order to avoid being the victim of a crime.

One holidaygoer recently said: “Got mugged there two weeks ago – watch, phone and wallet.

Police found my wallet the day after, but bank cards gone. Just hotel key and driving licence left.”

As another echoed: “I had my travel wallet stollen as I helped my mum get off the coach. Only just arrived.

“Lost all my money, passport, tickets. There was a queue of people all in the police station – all been pickpocketed.”
