DWTS ex-pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy slams judge Carrie Ann Inaba and claims her show critiques have ‘no substance’

DANCING With The Stars ex-professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy has hit out at judge Carrie Ann Inaba and feels she’s not delivering good feedback to the latest season’s contestants.

Maksim, who is not participating in the 33rd season of the ABC show, is never one to hold back, and made his opinion known on this season’s judging panel.

Speaking exclusively to The U.S. Sun, the 44-year-old said: “I’m a fan of constructive criticism.

“I’m a fan of criticism that has a foundation that I can take and then do better. Right? There’s none of that.

“You know, I don’t know what Carrie Ann is saying at all.

“I love that Derek [Hough] is trying to navigate the ship into the direction of like, ‘Here, look, I’m trying to tell you how it is. But I only have seven seconds.’

“And so for me, I like substance, I don’t have that from that segment of the show.

“I don’t know. So far I haven’t heard anything that would resonate for a dancer in a dance rehearsal.

“But I think that what they’re doing is leaving it for the most part up to the audience.

“You decide who you want to see, and in the finale, we’ll tell you what it is. And then we’ll put things in place.”

Makism has never been a big fan of Carrie Ann and previously delivered an f-bomb after he found himself at the bottom of the leaderboard with partner Hope Solo in 2011.

“F*** Carrie Ann, next question,” Maks said backstage to reporters.

‘USED FOR PUBLICITY’

Makism has also made no secret of his dislike for Anna Delvey, the 33-year-old convicted fraudster who was eliminated early in the competition this season after her casting ruffled feathers.

He previously told a TMZ podcast she was a “sh***y dancer.”

Makism also told The U.S. Sun on Wednesday night he wasn’t sad to see her go as she was voted out early with partner, Ezra Sosa.

She previously claimed she felt used by the show’s producers after telling the judges live that she got “nothing” from the experience.

Maksim said, “Did you hear about Anna? From where? [DWTS] And there you have it.

“And now Anna’s left and now she’s talking about, ‘You used me for publicity for the show.’

“I’m like, ‘Duh.’ Like, what did you think? And I helped. You’re welcome.”

Asked what he thinks she will do next, he mocked, “I don’t care. I’d never heard of her before this.

“Now that we have the audience, let’s show them good dancing. That’s what I think.

Star Struck

Season 23: Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy
Season 24: Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater
Season 25: Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold
Season 26: Adam Rippon and Jenna Johnson
Season 27: Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess
Season 28: Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten
Season 29: Kaitlyn Bristowe and Artem Chigvintsev
Season 30: Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach
Season 31: Charli D’Amelio and Mark Ballas
Season 32: Xochitl Gomez and Val Chmerkovskiy

“It’s going the way it’s supposed to. Some controversy, some people that can’t dance, somebody said some stuff.

“And then you gotta get out of this difficult period of time where it’s like it premiered and sort of died out. They’re keeping it going. I love what the production is doing.”

Maksim spoke to The U.S. Sun at the Beverly Hilton Hotel where he was hosting Dancers Against Cancer’s 10th Annual Gala of Star Awards alongside Jojo Siwa.

They were joined by the likes of Tori Spelling, who was recently eliminated from DWTS, along with Paula Abdul and Liza Minnelli who were both honored at the event.

Meanwhile, Makism said he’d love to see more underdogs on DWTS who are well-known but people would never expect them to be good at dancing.

“I want to see those who we know, but don’t know that they actually have [had] dance training in the past,” he said.

“And it’s not just women, there are definitely some dudes out there who represent other industries, maybe some kind of financial, maybe some kind of digital, maybe in securities.

“Robin Hershov [the South African entrepreneur] came out to be great and he left with a wife and two kids and an incredible happily ever after.

“I need people to come to terms that Dancing with the Stars is the flagship show on television.

“It is Season 33. It’s no longer about whether it’s cool or not. It’s always gonna be there. You should do it.”
