Did JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon Endorse Donald Trump?

Trump falsely claims endorsement from JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon.

JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon has come out clean after a false claim by Republican nominee for the US Presidential election, Donald Trump, that the JPMorgan CEO had endorsed him. Dimon categorically denied that he had endorsed Donald Trump or anyone else for the top executive post.

A spokeswoman, Joe Evangelisti, told a news media outlet over the phone and said,

“Jamie Dimon has not endorsed anyone. He has not endorsed a candidate.”

Earlier, Trump had shared a screenshot on his social media platform, Truth Social, of a post falsely claiming,

“New: Jamie Dimon, the CEO of JPMorgan Chase, has endorsed Trump for President.”

The claim first appeared from a verified account on X earlier Friday and was quickly lapped up by pro-Trump accounts, and then the former president himself, before the bank issued its denial.

When NBC News asked Trump, he replied that he does not know who put the post on his Truth Social account.

Earlier in an interview at the JPMorgan Investor Summit in Mumbai, Dimon said,

“I’m not endorsing anyone at this time. I spend more of my time on policy. What’s the policy we need that can really help both the world, foreign policy, and domestically?”

In April, Dimon said during an event,

“I want to help my country. I want the next president, whoever it is, to put the other party [members] in their Cabinet. That is what I would like to see. I would like to see practitioners go back to the government.”

He, however, did not name any candidate.

Dimon had a blow hot, blow cold relationship with the Republican nominee and had often praised Trump on a number of occasions. Last year, he rebuked Democratic messaging about Make America Great Again (MAGA) and advised the Democrats to grow up and give ears to Trump supporters.

However, during the Republican presidential primary season, Dimon had asked corporate bigwigs to support former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley over Trump. Trump did not take this act kindly and derided Dimon for supporting Haley. He also caustically stated that he had to live with this guy who had come begging to the White House.
