ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – Deputies were in a stand-off Thursday morning, after a man reportedly assaulted his bedridden mother in Anderson County.
The Anderson County Sheriff’s Office said deputies received a call after 8 a.m. about Malcolm Niven reportedly assaulting his bedridden mother at a home on Pine Court in Piedmont.
Deputies were able to remove the victim from the scene.
The sheriff’s office said that arrested Niven, who was charged with second degree assault and battery. Officials said that Niven will face additional charges.
Negotiations team, SWAT & Uniform Patrol were also at the scene.
