Dave Portnoy’s thoughts on the New York Jets franchise became public when he asked Aaron Rodgers and Co. mocked after the Jets lost to the Patriots on Sunday.

With newly promoted starting quarterback Drake Maye injured, New England still pulled off a 25-22 victory over a healthier Jets team.

After the nail-biter of a game, the Barstool Sports Chief took to social media and expressed his disbelief at how bad the Jets are.

‘It can hurt. Patriots beat the Jets. Bad day. God damn the Jets franchise is a joke,” Portnoy wrote on X. “I can’t even lose to them when we’re tanking.”

Maye’s short shift saw him complete three of six attempts for 23 yards. Moments after scoring the game’s first points with a 17-yard rushing touchdown, Maye was pulled from the game.

With one minute left in the opening period, Maye took a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jets linebacker Jamien Sherwood.

Jacoby Brissett stepped in and completed 15 of his 24 passes for 132 yards, leading the struggling Patriots to victory.

On the other hand, Rodgers completed 17 of 28 attempts for 233 yards and two touchdowns in the Jets’ losing effort.

Due to the turbulent start to the season in New York, they now lost their fifth game in a row. Their only two wins came in Week 2 and Week 3 against Tennessee and New England, respectively.

Rodgers defeated Brissett and Maye in their first meeting this season, completing 27 of 35 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-3 blowout. From that point on, however, things would fall apart for the Jets.

Both teams now have a record of 2-6 and are at the bottom of the AFC East, below the 2-5 Dolphins and 5-2 Bills.

The Jets will have a quick turnaround when they host the Texans on Oct. 31. Meanwhile, the Patriots will look to carry over the momentum after snapping a six-game skid when they face the Titans on November 3.
