Checkers is leveling up its Sixty60 delivery app by allowing customers to order not just groceries but now a wider range of essentials from Checkers Hyper, including electronics, homeware, gaming consoles, and camping gear.
The updated app offers products from Checkers Hyper, giving customers a broader selection and making it easier to get everything delivered right to their door.
This expansion of the Sixty60 app comes with a fresh user interface, aimed at improving customer experience while intensifying competition with major retailers like Woolworths and Pick n Pay.
The update comes after an impressive 58.1% growth for Sixty60 in the 2024 financial year, reflecting its rising dominance in the delivery market.
Checkers’ parent company, Shoprite Group, has shown solid growth, with total sales increasing by 12% to R240.7 billion, driven by new store openings and robust performance across brands. Checkers itself saw a 12.3% sales increase, while Shoprite and Usave chains also recorded double-digit growth. This reflects the company’s agility and ability to capture a strong foothold in the South African market.
