Before the show, Corso appeared in a video filmed by fellow ESPN colleague Kirk Hersbreit.

Corso shared that he was wearing a pin on his suit to support his granddaughter, who’s fighting against brain cancer and recently had a brain tumor removed.

“She’s all right now,” Corso said in the clip, revealing she is in her mid-30s.

“In support of brain cancer and research, I’m wearing this pin.”

Corso said he was doing OK when Herbstreit asked him.

He had missed the previous two shows, including one last week in Eugene, Oregon before Oregon hosted Ohio State.

Corso was back for Saturday and the College GameDay program was up for grabs.

Host Reece Davis announced the return of the show’s staple and the crowd went wild.

Corso raised his right hand and gave a “hook em” signal, which caused Herbstreit to tell viewers that Corso predicted the Longhorns to win the national championship before the season.

Texas fans then chanted Corso’s first name.

During the program, Corso was trending on social media after correctly predicting a college football upset.

The panel discussed the game between No. 22 Illinois and No. 24 Michigan.

Michigan entered the game as a -3.5-point favorite and lost 21-7 to the Fighting Illini.

Before the Illinois victory, Corso said that the Fighting Illini would win.

“I picked Illinois because it’s a big game, finally at Illinois,” he said.

“They are not going to be denied.”

Michigan gave up an interception and two fumbles in the game which made the difference in the game.

The Week 9 edition of College GameDay will take place in Bloomington when Indiana hosts Washington.

Corso will appear at the location for the first time.

He coached Indiana from 1973 to 1982, going 41-68-2 as a head coach.
