We’re threatened with fines for parking outside my OWN homes – it’s outrageous & we are being targeted by the council

RESIDENTS on an estate are at risk of being fined for parking on their own driveways, after a council painted double yellow lines right outside their homes.

Maciej Gawlik has lived on the same street in Southampton for eight years – and claims at least two of his neighbours have already been fined.

The lines were painted on Mansfield Park Street three years ago right in front of homes, making it a struggle to park – and residents say wardens are targeting the area, as a result.

They claim at times two wardens will be issuing tickets on the street in the same day.

Maciej, 43, said his neighbour was slapped with a fine because his tyre was brushing one of the lines.

He can’t fit his in the garage and its now too big for the drive, so like others, he is forced to risk the wrath of the wardens.

Maciej said despite it being a new development with lots of first time buyers and growing families, “no thought” has gone into providing driveways and garages big enough for family cars.

He told the Southern Daily Echo: “It’s outrageous – so many of the people here have had to downsize their cars just so that they can fit them on their driveway.

“We have families with five children and they are being squeezed into a tiny Ford Fiesta – all because the council think they can come and make a bit of fast cash.”

Locals say they’ve been served £30 parking charges, which increase to £70 if not paid within two weeks.

Fellow resident, Kelly Taylor, 34, told the newspaper because there’s no space for visitors, one person is not able to come see his mum who has cancer.

Natasha Harding, 37, said she approached the council about buying an area of “wasted” green space next to her flat to turn into parking, but was “instantly shut down”.

Councillor Eamonn Keogh, cabinet member for environment and transport on Southampton City Council said: “Double yellow lines are used to enable the free flow of vehicles, especially emergency vehicles and service vehicles, in any particular area.

“Residents can request a review of the parking restrictions in their area through the form on our website.

“Drivers who receive a Penalty Charge Notice are entitled to submit an appeal on our website.”

The council did not wish to comment further when contacted by The Sun.

Security vid shows would-be Trump ‘assassin’s’ son being arrested after ‘child pornography files found at home’

SECURITY footage has captured the moment the son of the man who allegedly tried to assassinate Donald Trump on his Florida golf course was arrested by cops.

Oran Alexander Routh, son of Ryan Routh, was arrested by the feds on child pornography charges earlier this week.

He was arrested after cops had raided his home in Greensboro, North Carolina on Saturday.

As part of their probe, two Samsung Galaxy Note devices were uncovered and hundreds of child pornography files were discovered on an SD card, per legal docs seen by The U.S. Sun.

Security footage, obtained by the Fox affiliate WGHP, showed Routh surrendering to cops.

Routh, 35, wearing a black Stetson-like hat trooped toward officers with his hands in the air.

He turned around as two cops holding firearms swooped in on him.

Local mechanic Lacine Cherif saw the arrest play out in real time and likened it to something out of a film.

“You usually see that on TV or the movies, but I actually saw it in real life … It was actually scary,” he told WGHP.

Cherif revealed that officers had been staking out the area before making the arrest.

Routh has been charged with counts of possessing and receiving child sexual abuse material, according to court docs.

Cops revealed they found explicit content on one of the cell phones, as reported by NPR.

His home was raided as part of the ongoing probe into his father Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, and he is due to appear in court for a detention hearing on October 1.

Ryan Routh allegedly tried to assassinate Trump on September 15 after he reportedly scoped out the West Palm Beach golf course for 12 hours before being caught.

Routh lay in wait in the bushes around 500 yards from the former president and cops found a backpack and a GoPro device that was discarded at the scene.

A Secret Service agent opened fire after spotting the barrel of Routh’s weapon.

The gunman fled the scene before he was later caught as cops executed a traffic stop.

Routh was initially charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

He has also been charged with the attempted assassination of an ex-president.

It was thought Routh was armed with an AK-47 style weapon but officials revealed the gun was a SKS semiautomatic gun.

Prosecutors revealed cell phone data pinpointed Routh to be at the golf course and near Trump’s luxury residence, Mar-a-Lago.

Routh also penned a note that revealed his intentions to try and kill Trump.

The letter started with the line “Dear world.”

“This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you. I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster,” it said.

“It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job.

“Everyone across the globe from the youngest to the oldest know that Trump is unfit to be anything, much less a U.S. president.

The Justice Department released a chilling letter from would-be assassin Ryan Wesley Routh about his plan to kill Donald Trump on Monday.

“Dear world,” the note began.

“It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job.

“Everyone across the globe from the youngest to the oldest know that Trump is unfit to be anything, much less a U.S. president.

“US presidents must at bare minimum embody the moral fabric that is America, and be kind, caring and selfless and always stand for humanity.

“Trump fails to understand any of [that],” the letter concluded

“US presidents must at bare minimum embody the moral fabric that is America, and be kind, caring and selfless and always stand for humanity.”

Cops also discovered a notebook full of criticism toward the government.

Routh, a pro-Ukrainian activist, could face life behind bars if he’s convicted.

Attorney General Merrick Garland branded the assassination attempt “heinous” during a press conference on Tuesday.

He warned Routh could be hit with extra charges.

Trump accused the Justice Department of downplaying the case, as reported by The New York Post.

He claimed the charges against Routh were a slap on the wrist.

Judge Aileen Cannon has been assigned the court case.

She threw out Trump’s classified documents case in July.

Trump appeared to make a joke about the apparent assassination attempt days later on the Fox News show Gutfeld!

He joked that golf is a dangerous game.

In her viral video, TikTok user Amber Pot (@amberpot) broke down her beauty regime.

For her first step, she applies hair oil to the mids and ends of her locks.

The TikToker explained that this helps “to protect it from hard water damage.”

She also uses a pre-wash scalp treatment, which she described as “a must after scalp oiling.”

Amber’s go-to scalp treatments are usually “a scalp scrub or salicylic acid.”

Next, she recommended shampooing your locks twice, explaining the reasons behind each rinse.

“The first wash breaks product build-up, while the second wash gets rid of dirt,” Amber explained.

And when it comes to shampooing, the haircare pro only applies the product to her roots.

According to the TikTok user, shampoo can dry out the ends of your locks.

Amber also elevates her shampoo by adding rosemary essential oil for hair growth.

She then uses warm water to wash out the shampoo but switches to cold water to rinse her conditioner.

However, before applying conditioner, Amber explained that she uses a hair mask in the shower.

When applying conditioner, she only adds the product to the mids and ends of her locks.

She explained that the product would make her locks greasy if applied to her roots.

For her final step, Amber always finishes her hair washing routine with a cold rinse.

The five best DIY hair hacks

One beauty expert has shared the easy way to refresh your hair in between washes without reaching for the dry shampoo.

A hairstylist has revealed the best way to get rid of flyaways in seconds for picture-perfect hair.

Sick of you hair falling flat? One woman shared the easy trick to add extra volume without backcombing your roots.

Plus, one hairstylist shared how to keep your hair straight and frizz-free without using any heat.

For blondies among us, it turns out you’ve been applying purple shampoo all wrong and the right way will stop it from going patchy.

The TikToker also advised her audience to “never sleep with wet hair.”

Amber’s followers shared their thoughts on the advice in the comments section.

“This saved my hair,” wrote one impressed viewer.

“If you massage your roots everytime you shampoo, that works [too],” suggested another TikTok user.

“Might have to give this a try, thanks for giving your tips,” commented a third person.

Mum reveals reason she blames HERSELF for partner of 17 years’ affair & his leaving ‘months after child’s first holiday’

A MUM has left people heartbroken after revealing the reason she blames herself for her partner of 17 years’ affair.

She explained that her husband – to whom she had been married for seven years – was her “best friend”, and she thought they were “happy”.

After he became very secretive on his phone, she then found out he’d been unfaithful to her with someone 200 miles away[/caption]

“We had been on our little one’s first holiday abroad just months before he left,” she added.

But she slowly started “noticing changes” in his behaviour, such as him becoming “very secretive” and disappearing for “whole weekends, blocking my number and leaving me to care for our child and dog alone”.

“He would speak to me horribly and treated me awfully, which was completely unlike him,” she continued in the post on Mumsnet.

She eventually discovered that he was seeing someone 200 miles way, and had been “writing love letters to her, sending her sex toys and taking her on trips to the theatre”.

When she confronted him, he told her he “didn’t love me anymore and he was leaving”.

“When I was at work one day, he moved out all his stuff and left,” she added.

While the events unfolded a year ago, she admitted it had “completely broken” her, and she doesn’t think she’ll “ever understand it”.

“Deep down, I know I blame myself because I feel like I somehow caused it,” she added.

“I have a stressful job and I found first time parenting during a pandemic overwhelming.”

She’s now found someone new herself, but has been struggling with whether or not she’s “ready” to move on from the past.

“He’s so lovely and so patient and understanding but I keep doubting it,” she admitted.

“Not because of him I don’t think but because I’m still healing and I’m not sure I can go through another heartbreak like it.”

After her husband’s affair, she had resigned herself to “staying alone”, and “didn’t expect to feel this way about someone so soon”.

And now she’s worrying about “hurting my ex, even though he seemingly didn’t care about my feelings at all”, as well as worrying that she’s ” still in love with my ex husband and that it’s not fair on the guy I’m seeing”.

“But then on the other hand I don’t want to punish myself forever for an affair I didn’t commit,” she concluded, asking if anyone had found themselves in a similar situation.

People were quick to offer their takes on the situation in the comments section, with one writing: “First of all, you did nothing to make your husband have an affair, that is all on him so you have no reason whatsoever to blame yourself…

Four red flags your partner is cheating

Private Investigator Aaron Bond from BondRees revealed four warning signs your partner might be cheating.

They start to take their phone everywhere with them

In close relationships, it’s normal to know each other’s passwords and use each other’s phones, if their phone habits change then they may be hiding something.

Aaron says: “If your partner starts changing their passwords, starts taking their phone everywhere with them, even around the house or they become defensive when you ask to use their phone it could be a sign of them not being faithful.”

“You should also look at how they place their phone down when not in use. If they face the phone with the screen facing down, then they could be hiding something.”

They start telling you less about their day

When partners cheat they can start to avoid you, this could be down to them feeling guilty or because it makes it easier for them to lie to you.

“If you feel like your partner has suddenly begun to avoid you and they don’t want to do things with you any more or they stop telling you about their day then this is another red flag.”

“Partners often avoid their spouses or tell them less about their day because cheating can be tough, remembering all of your lies is impossible and it’s an easy way to get caught out,” says Aaron.

Their libido changes

Your partner’s libido can change for a range of reasons so it may not be a sure sign of cheating but it can be a red flag according to Aaron.

Aaron says: “Cheaters often have less sex at home because they are cheating, but on occasions, they may also have more sex at home, this is because they feel guilty and use this increase in sex to hide their cheating.  You may also find that your partner will start to introduce new things into your sex life that weren’t there before.”

They become negative towards you

Cheaters know that cheating is wrong and to them, it will feel good, this can cause tension and anxiety within themselves which they will need to justify.

“To get rid of the tension they feel inside they will try to convince themselves that you are the problem and they will become critical of you out of nowhere.  Maybe you haven’t walked the dog that day, put the dishes away or read a book to your children before bedtime.  A small problem like this can now feel like a big deal and if you experience this your partner could be cheating,” warns Aaron.

“You have said yourself that your new man is very patient and understanding, that is even more reason to take it slowly at your own pace.

“There’s no need to rush into anything and there’s no reason to break off your new relationship because it might turn out to be the best thing that’s happened to you for a long time.”

“Just continue to take it slowly,” another advised.

“A year on from a 17 year relationship is not a long time.

“I wouldn’t give up on the new man/relationship though. I’ve been dating on and off for a while and I’ve not experienced those feelings for anyone yet.

“I think it’s rare… and you can’t put life on hold forever.”

But Richard insists he’s not going anywhere and has no plans to give up his day job any time soon.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, he said: “I am very happy to say on GMB as long as they want me.

“At some point I’m going to be too bloody old – I’m 68! “t some stage either I will think or ITV will think maybe the times come.

“But hopefully that will be for a few years yet, because I don’t feel 68.”

He and Susanna, 53, have face continious feud rumours since he joined the show on a permanent basis in 2021.

But Richard has insisted the duo get along just fine and he is “lucky” to have been paired with her.

He continued: “I think I’m really lucky to have been paired with Susanna, I think journalistically we’re very similar.

“We have a meeting every morning at 5 o’clock in her dressing room. Her, me and the producer of the day and we go through the running and that’s where we kind of put the final shape to the programme. It’s just a treat working with her.”

Richard added: “I wouldn’t get up at four in the f****** morning two weeks out of four, Monday to Thursday, if I didn’t enjoy it.

“I don’t need to do it. My career arch as it were, is behind me. I’ve had a really happy career and I could if I wanted to just potter about.”

Meanwhile, another presenter change up is on the cards for GMB this week.

Adil Ray, 50, revealed he will be returning to the presenter hot seat on Friday alongside show anchor Kate Garraway.

He uploaded a snap showing him on the early morning show sofa with Kate, 57, as well as newsreader Charlotte Hawkins, 49, entertainment reporter Richard Arnold, 54, and weather presenter Laura Tobin, 42.

Expert reveals unlikely 99p hack that can help you get rid of mould – you probably already have it in the bathroom

AN EXPERT has revealed an unlikely 99p hack you can use to remove mould from your home, and you probably already have the product in your bathroom.

As the weather begins to get colder, condensation may begin to form on our windows, which, if left alone can allow mould to grow, which can lead to asthma attacks and skin rashes.

Mould can be tricky to get rid of[/caption]
a person is holding a bottle of foam in their hand
Getty
Shaving foam is an unlikely method for preventing mould growth[/caption]

It can also destroy wallpaper, wood and drywall, which can lead to expensive repairs.

However, Emily Caloe, Senior Buyer at Vonhaus revealed that there is a simple hack to get rid of it.

She said: “Damp, humid environments are just the right breeding grounds for mould.

“This is compounded by poor ventilation, leaks, condensation and high humidity levels that all create the perfect conditions for mould spores, which can affect walls, ceilings, windows and other surfaces with unsightly stains and possible health hazards”.

Shaving Foam

Emily explained that shaving foam is an unlikely product which can stop mould from growing around windows.

She said: “Start by giving your windows a good clean.

“Spread a thin layer of shaving cream over the glass; this shaving cream will act as a barrier, reducing condensation—a major cause of mould growth on windows.

“Let the foam sit for a few minutes until the excess is wiped off, and then let it sit with a thin, clear layer left behind.”

Shaving foam is super cheap, and can be picked up for as little as 99p from Tesco.

Emily added that another simple hack you can use to banish mould is to use white vinegar.

Revealing her method, she said: “Mix one part vinegar with one part water in a spray bottle and apply the solution to the affected area.

“Wipe down with a clean, damp cloth.

“If there is a smell of vinegar, don’t worry—it will disappear within a few hours. And remember: always wear gloves and a mask when dealing with mould.”

What is mould and how to get rid of it?

Mould is more likely to grow during the winter months.

Olivia Young, Product Development Scientist at Astonish revealed exactly why this is.

“Unfortunately, mould is a common problem many people face during winter. It thrives in conditions that are warm and damp, so your bathrooms are likely to be the most affected place.

“That said, during the colder months most rooms in your home could be vulnerable to mould growing.

“This occurs primarily from condensation that builds up on your windows when you’ve got your radiators on.

“If you think about it, when windows and doors are closed, there’s not much chance for the air to circulate and the moisture to make a swift exit.

“This build up is what can cause dreaded mould to make an appearance, especially in bathrooms, as it creates that warm and wet environment that is a breeding ground for mould.

“If left untreated, not only is it unsightly but it can also pose a serious risk to your health, so it’s really important you treat it.

“The key to tackle mould is to act fast.

“Try to come into as little contact with it as you can. So, grab your gloves, tie up your hair and get to work to remove any signs of mould as soon as you notice them.

“To keep mould at bay, there are some simple solutions you can introduce throughout home.

“The first is keep it ventilated. Yes, even in the cold winter months try to leave your bathroom window open for at least 10/15 minutes post shower or bath. This will get rid of any excess moisture quickly preventing mould gathering.

“If you’re having a repeat problem with mould in one particular area, it might be because the humidity levels are too high. You can get a dehumidifier that will help keep the levels low and reduce the risk of mould returning.

“The golden rule to remember when dealing with mould is the quicker you can treat it, the better. If you leave it, it will only get worse so never ignore it!

“To successfully get rid of mould every time, I recommend opting for the UK’s No 1 Mould & Mildew Remover, that effectively removes mould and mildew stains almost instantly, with no scrubbing necessary.”

Black mould is a fungus that grows in warm, wet conditions such as in the bathroom.

Mould can build up for a number of reasons, such as leaking pipes, poor insulation or if condensation is not wiped away after you’ve had a shower.

It’s important to get rid of mould as it can cause many health problems.

According to the NHS, black mould can lead to asthma attacks, allergic reactions and infections.

When removing black mould, it is important to protect yourself by using rubber gloves and a mask that covers you nose and mouth.
