‘Next level irresponsibility’ people cry as mum reveals she bought her THREE-year-old a ‘smartphone’

A MUM has caused outrage after revealing that she bought a “smartphone” for her three year old daughter.

Alanis Dyble, said that she thinks her daughter is going to absolutely love the phone, which she is saving to give her at Christmas.

“I got my three year old her own phone, because I am that mum”, she said, in a viral TikTok video.

The “children’s smartphone” looks like a smaller version of a normal smartphone, and comes with a unicorn phone case, a charger, and a strap to put the phone around your neck.

However, unlike a regular phone, you can’t call, text or use the internet on it.

Instead, it comes loaded up with kids games, nursery rhymes a camera and a torch.

It also has audiobooks on it, and is marketed as an educational toy.

“It’s basically a phone, but not a phone, because you can’t do anything crazy on here”, Alanis said.

She added that she bought the phone for her child so that she “thinks she’s just like us.”

She explained that her children love taking her phone and role playing as adults by pretending to make calls and texts.

“She can’t make calls on here, but she can pretend she’s talking to Peppa Pig“, Alanis said.

Alanis’ (alanisdyblexoxo) video has likely left many open-mouthed as it has racked up over 1.5 million views on the video sharing platform.

TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts, with many branding the mum of three “lazy” for giving her child the phone.

One person said: “The perfect gift for lazy parents who want their kid in a corner not disturbing them.”

A second person said: “Children should be out playing not playing on a phone.

The dangers of kids being glued to screens

A recent study has revealed that toddlers who spend a significant amount of time in front of screens may miss out on learning new words. The research, conducted by experts, suggests that excessive screen time can hinder a child’s language development. It is believed that interactive activities and direct human interaction are crucial for young children to acquire language skills effectively.

The study highlights that children under the age of two are particularly vulnerable to the negative effects of screen exposure. During these formative years, toddlers need to engage in face-to-face communication and play, which are essential for their cognitive and social development. The researchers emphasise the importance of parents and caregivers limiting screen time and instead encouraging more interactive and engaging activities.

Experts recommend that parents should prioritise activities such as reading, talking, and playing with their children to foster better language development. They also suggest that if screens are used, it should be in a way that promotes interaction, such as video calls with family members. The findings of this study serve as a reminder of the potential impact of technology on young children’s development and the need for mindful moderation of screen time.

“Take her to the park or something.”

A third person said: “That is next level irresponsibility.”

A fourth person added: “When I was 3 I was going outside and I didn’t know what a smartphone was.”

According to YouGov, 66% of Generation Alpha (kids born after 2010) started using tablets at age five or younger.

And Ofcom recently revealed that more than 90% of UK children have their own smartphone by age 11.

Tablet use in young children has been linked to behavioural problems such as temper tantrums and frustration.

David and Victoria Beckham facing ‘a year of misery’ at £31m London mansion as renovations kick off

DAVID and Victoria Beckham face up to a year of misery as their new next-door neighbours have had their grand renovation plans approved by the local council.

The West London council was concerned about the impact that the owner’s plans would have on the celebrity couple and ordered a meeting between them.

The adjoining property – worth over £40m – is undergoing a major overhaul with the new owner transforming all five floors of the house, which boasts six bedrooms and an underground swimming pool.

Some of the issues that have come about are to rectify illegal modifications of the historic Grade II property which were done without the correct planning permission in 2004.

These include demolishing walls, rearranging rooms, new kitchens and bathrooms, underfloor heating, air-conditioning, solar panels on the roof – plus new doors and windows.

But the council wanted the Beckhams on board and stated in its pre-planning advice document that it wouldn’t give planning permission without it.

The planning officer wrote: “You are expected to discuss your proposals with all neighbours with a boundary with your site, as we will advise them of any application, as well as any residents’ association or society. You may be able to deal with any concerns they may have before making the application and therefore avoid objections being submitted by them.

“Even if they continue to have concerns, they will be grateful for being better informed. I recommend you write to your neighbours to explain what you are intending to do and offer them the opportunity to discuss this with you. You should include a copy of drawings.

“You will be expected to provide details of the community engagement including details of the methods used and its outcomes including how the proposals have been amended to account for the feedback given. Where you have not made any changes based on the feedback received, you should provide reasons why.”

The Beckhams ran into issues when they made over their own £31m London home after buying it in 2013.

A neighbour complained to the council that their grand plans ‘will affect the historic character of the Victorian house of the streets, my house included.’

She added: “The council must identify our deep concerns about all adverse impacts on living conditions from noise, vibration, dirt, pollution and dust from construction and from associated traffic, in addition to concerns about impacts on drainage, on appearance and landscape, on structural stability, and on historic buildings.”

But the Beckhams got planning permission and did a four year renovation which means their four-storey house now has six bedrooms, an indoor pool, a wine cellar, a fashion runway, a gym and an at-home nail salon.

Inside David and Victoria's property empire

DUE to their jet-setting lifestyles, Posh and Becks rarely stay in the same place for long.

The pair have multiple properties all over the world to make sure they also have somewhere to stay wherever they end up.

They have managed to build up a £70million+ property empire over the years, which include:

London Townhouse

In 2013 Victoria and David splashed the cash on a £31.5million London Townhouse.

The property lies in Holland Park and the couple reportedly spent another £8million on renovations.

The Grade II listed home boasts an impressive entrance way and kitchen but it was previously revealed that part of the house had to be cordoned off due to being close to collapsing.

Cotswold farmhouse

The footballer and singer duo bought a £6.15million farmhouse in the Cotswolds in 2016.

This is where the family seem to spend a lot of their time together.

Similar to their London home, they spent quite a bit of money on renovating the home to their liking.

There is an outdoor swimming pool, football pitch, a traditional Estonian sauna.

It was also reported that they hired three-time Chelsea Flower Show winner Marcus Barnett to transform their outdoor space into a “fairytale garden” with a pergola and an orchard.

Miami Penthouse

It’s no secret that the Beckhams spend quite a bit of time in Miami due to David owning football team Inter Miami.

But, the family have a permanent residence for when they need to stay across the pond.

They own a £20million penthouse in the exclusive One Hundred Museum building.

The block was designed inspired by a seven-star hotel and has amazing views of Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean as well as the Miami skyline.

The apartments have kitchens with quartz countertops, walk-in closets and spa-like bathrooms, along with a rooftop pool.

Burj Khalifa home

The Beckhams are the owners of a £4million Burj Khalifa home.

It’s been said that David bought the home in 2009.

Despite owning the home, the pair don’t tend to share much about the property.

Second Dubai home

David and Victoria bought a second home in Dubai in 2002.

They apparently bought a villa in Palm Jumeirah for £1.3million, but by 2008 its value was estimated to have gone up to £8million.

They soon realised they weren’t getting much use out of the home so they decided to give it to Victoria’s parents Tony and Jackie Adams.

Yacht

When the couple are wanting to go somewhere a bit more exotic, they can take a trip on their £5million yacht.

They bought the boat in 2021 after apparent being inspired by Elton John and David Furnish’s yacht trips.

The 93.5ft vessel has been named Seven, in tribue to David’s football career and the number he wore on his shirts for Manchester United and England, as well as their daughter’s middle name.

The yacht is kept around Miami, with the family often enjoying the sunshine there.

‘She’s beautiful’: Inside Elon Musk & married Italian PM Meloni’s VERY close ‘friendship’ as billionaire denies ‘affair’

ELON Musk has denied being romantically involved with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni – but social media users think images of the pair suggest otherwise.

The billionaire has said the PM is “even more beautiful inside than outside” while she’s affectionately referred to Musk as a “precious genius”.

Musk handed Giorgia Meloni the Global Citizen Award[/caption]

Images shared online show Musk, 53 and the Italian lawmaker, 47, gazing into each other’s eyes at the Global Citizen Awards in New York on Monday, as the Tesla founder handed her the award.

And if the photos captured weren’t enough to spark rumours, Meloni even requested Musk hand her the award himself months prior.

When handing over the achievement, Musk gushed that Meloni was “someone who is even more beautiful inside than outside” and joked “that can’t always be said about politicians”.

He then went on to refer to her affectionately as “authentic, honest and thoughtful”.

The Italian right-wing lawmaker responded by calling the billionaire a “precious genius”.

Users took to X, formerly Twitter, to express how the two could be more than friends after images from the awards night went viral.

One user said: “You can’t have mELONI without ELON.”

Another commented: “Find someone who looks at you the same way the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni looks at Elon Musk.”

And: “They would make a cute couple!”

But Musk jumped to the pair’s defence on his social media platform and squashed the dating rumours.

He said: “I was there with my Mom. There is no romantic relationship whatsoever with PM Meloni.”

Meloni split from her longtime partner Andrea Giambruno in 2023 after his lewd and sexist off-air comments were leaked – including asking a female TV colleague for a foursome.

The pair have an eight-year-old daughter together.

Musk has a complicated marriage history after being wedded to author Justine Wilson, 52 and twice married to Brit actress Talulah Riley, 39.

He’s also dated actress Amber Heard, 38, and singer Grimes, 36 – with whom he shares three children.

Musk and Meloni have met several times previously and have been on friendly terms for a while as the Tesla exec continues to befriend right-wing leaders.

In June last year, Musk jetted to Rome to meet the Italian leader at her official residence.

They bonded over their shared interests in declining birth rates and the untapped potential of artificial intelligence.

Musk also went to a gathering in December that was organised by Meloni’s Brothers of Italy political party.

He replied “yes” on X to a post claiming he had “reportedly accepted” the invite.

The four-day political youth festival Atreju confirmed his attendance on their own account, saying he was the “mystery” guest.

But there have been accusations that their close friendship is connected to the PM wanting to renew her links with Trump allies after Musk endorsed the ex-president for the upcoming election.

But Meloni claimed that the decision of Musk to introduce and present the award to her was made months ago and had “nothing to do with the American election campaign”.

Shocking pic of HUGE nest of deadly Asian hornets as big as a beach ball found in UK town days after swarm killed woman

A STARK warning has been issued after a shocking picture of a nest of deadly Asian hornets, as big as a beach ball, was found in a UK town.

Experts and climbers were summoned to remove a huge nest of deadly hornets in Hampshire on Tuesday.

Just days ago a woman died after being stung several times by the Asian hornets

The nest was found in a UK town

The nest was located in a tree at The Old Cemetery on Southampton Common.

Described as “apex predators”, the Asian hornets inject their poison 3.5mm into a human’s flesh.

In the event of being attacked, experts advice is to “cover your head and run”.

Just days ago, a 77-year-old woman was stung and killed by the Asian hornets during a mass attack in Brittany, France.

The woman was stung multiple times while on a hiking trip and despite the emergency services best efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Experts were first warned after a photo of the Southampton discovery was uploaded to the Asian Hornet Watch app.

To trap the deadly beasts, researchers used bait to track them back to the nest and then inject it with poison.

The nest was removed and the size of it compared to that of a beach ball.

Alan Baxter, Asian Hornet Coordinator for Hampshire has issued a stark warning to residents in the area.

He said: “Yesterday it was good to see our operation in action.

“It was one of the biggest (nests) which suggests it was quite a well-established colony.

“It was about 75 cm across. The National Bee unit has left a monitoring station there.

“We hope for the best and expect the worst so I wouldn’t be surprised if there are more but that is purely speculation.

“If it is a homegrown one then we have got a problem on.

“If you do see one walk away quickly. Don’t stop and look at it.

“If you see a nest take a photo with your mobile phone. In the unlikely event that you are attacked, cover your head and run.”

The hornets are not only a danger to humans, but the environment and other wildlife, particularly to bees.

Mr Baxter urges people to download the Asian Hornet App to share any spotting’s of the hornets and alert experts.

The expert continued to explain that very young and elderly people are at a greater risk.

He added: “There were 72 nests found and destroyed last year in the UK. This year so far there have been 18.

“They come in as hitchhikers. There are thousands of them all over Europe.

“Here in Hampshire, we have the Hampshire Asian Hornet Contingency Plan which I wrote.

“We consider ourselves to be quite well prepared. Over the UK we have a network of 2,500 beekeepers. We have got a very good network.”

The Southampton nest has now been sent to a laboratory for experts to assess how long it had been there for.

Totton, Gosport and Portsmouth are among some of the other places where there have been similar discoveries in the south of England.

What to do if you're stung by an Asian hornet & symptoms to look out for

  • Removing stingers

If anything is left on, or in your skin, the first thing you need to do is remove it carefully, according to the NHS.

  1. Brush or scrape the stinger sideways with your fingernail or the edge of a bank card.
  2. Do not use tweezers to pull out a stinger as you could squeeze poison out of it.
  3. Wash the area with soap and water.
  • Easing your symptoms

If there’s nothing in your skin, or you’ve removed it, wash your skin with soap and water to help lower the chance of infection.

The bite or sting should get better in a few days. There are some things you can do to ease your symptoms.

DO

  • Put an ice pack wrapped in a cloth or a clean cloth soaked in cold water on the bite or sting for at least 20 minutes, if it’s swollen
  • Keep the area raised if you can
  • Take painkillers such as paracetamol or ibuprofen if the sting is painful
  • Use antihistamines to relieve any itching
  • Use a hydrocortisone cream to reduce itching and swelling

DON’T

  • Do not scratch the bite or sting, as it could get infected
  • Do not use home remedies such as bicarbonate of soda to treat the bite or sting

You should ask for an urgent GP appointment or call 111 if:

  • Your symptoms get worse or are not getting any better
  • You were stung in your mouth or throat, or near your eyes
  • You have tummy pain and are being sick
  • You feel dizzy or lightheaded
  • A large area around the bite or sting becomes red and swollen
  • You have a high temperature and swollen glands
  • You were stung more than once
  • You’ve had a serious allergic reaction to an insect bite or sting before

Call 999 if:

  • Your lips, mouth, throat or tongue suddenly become swollen
  • You’re breathing very fast or struggling to breathe (you may become very wheezy or feel like you’re choking or gasping for air)
  • Your throat feels tight or you’re struggling to swallow
  • Your skin, tongue or lips turn blue, grey or pale (if you have black or brown skin, this may be easier to see on the palms of your hands or soles of your feet)
  • You suddenly become very confused, drowsy or dizzy
  • Someone faints and cannot be woken up
  • A child is limp, floppy or not responding like they normally do (their head may fall to the side, backwards or forwards, or they may find it difficult to lift their head or focus on your face)

You or the person who’s unwell may also have a rash that’s swollen, raised or itchy.

These can be signs of a serious allergic reaction and may need immediate treatment in hospital.
