Who is Kyle Thomas’ mum Zena Foord?

KYLE Thomas is a TikTok star from Northern Ireland who came to prominence for creating a multitude of videos featuring exotic animals.

His mother Zena Foord landed herself in hot water when she tried helping her son out with his own private ‘zoo’ by importing an unlicensed dangerous animal.

Who is Kyle Thomas’ mum Zena Foord?

Kyle Thomas has tens of millions of online followers, mainly from creating content about exotic animals, including his pet meerkat Mylo.

He has nearly 35million followers and 1.7billion likes on TikTok, as well as 1.3million followers Instagram.

In August 2023, his mother Zena Foord made headlines when she was convicted of smuggling an unlicensed capybara from Cambridgeshire into Northern Ireland.

The capybara incident

Kyle’s mother Zena contacted Michael Dickinson, a County Antrim pet shop owner, about getting one of the animals.

Dickinson arranged for an associate named James Hammond to pick up a capybara and transport it to Northern Ireland from Cambridgeshire, where they can legally be kept as pets legally.

Capybaras are listed as dangerous animals in Northern Ireland and require a licence to keep.

The capybara, which Kyle named Queen Elizabeth, became a hit on TikTok when he dressed it up in jewellery, tiaras and frocks.

Unfortunately, the capybara died shortly after being taken into their family home in Lisburn.

Legal Consequences

In June 2023, Zena Foord was given a two-year conditional discharge at Lisburn Magistrate’s Court for keeping a capybara without a license between October 6 and 24, 2022.

Michael Dickinson and James Hammond were also convicted of charges related to smuggling the animal.

Aftermath

The death of the capybara and other animals led to investigations and concerns about animal welfare.

According to his mother, the TikToker’s controversial zoo for exotic animals was reportedly closed and the land was sold.

Ms Foord told Belfast Live: “He has done absolutely nothing wrong.

“I’ve had to move every single f****** animal from here because people were killing them and poisoning them.”

The incident sparked debates about the ethics of keeping exotic pets and the influence of social media on the exotic pet trade.

It also received significant media attention, raising questions about the responsibilities of influencers and the regulation of exotic animals as pets.

BBC documentaries

The first documentary featuring Kyle and his mother is called The Exotic Pet Crisis: Truth Behind the TikTok Stars.

It first aired on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer on September 25, 2023.

The doc, presented by Mobeen Azhar, explores the controversial world of exotic pet ownership, as well as its promotion on social media platforms like TikTok.

We Built a Zoo, the second doc featuring the TikToker and his mum, is a one-hour film following Kyle’s journey as he attempts to build a zoo for his exotic animals.

It addresses his controversial past, including posts about his animals that drew criticism from animal rights activists, and the challenges he faced in finding suitable homes for the animals following his previous zoo’s closure.

It also documents his collaboration with Co Tyrone Builder Phil Hughes to transform a modest petting farm into a world-class wildlife park for Kyle’s animals and other unwanted exotic pets.

It also follows him on his trip to South Africa to learn how to take better care of his meerkats.

The documentary first aired on on BBC Three and BBC Northern Ireland on August 2, 2024.

Assassin’s Creed fans will have to wait months to play Shadows following last-minute delay

ASSASSIN’S Creed Shadows is the next entry in the long-running series, and fans have been waiting eagerly to play.

The first game in the series to be set in feudal Japan, fans have waited years to play an Assassin’s Creed game in this setting.

Fans will have to wait four extra months before Shadows’ release[/caption]

It was originally set to be released on November 12, 2024, but fans will have to wait a few more months to get their hands on it.

Developer Ubisoft has just announced that Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be delayed until February, and it appears that Star Wars Outlaws is at fault.

It was revealed on Twitter that Shadows would be delayed until 2025 to “polish and refine” the title.

Not only that, but Ubisoft is dropping the season pass and early access model, as well as launching the game on Steam on release day.

The statement reads: “This is an ambitious addition to the franchise.

“A rich experience that can be lived through the eyes of two unique protagonists – but we realize we need more time to polish and refine the experience, pushing further some of our key features.

“As such, we’ve made the decision to postpone the release date for February 14, 2025

“The game will be released on a broad range of platforms, including Steam at launch.

“Additionally, pre-orders will be refunded, and all future pre-orders will be granted the first expansion for free.”

This is a big change for Ubisoft, as many triple-A games try to increase profits by selling premium, deluxe, or gold editions.

Fans are pleased that the company is moving away from the model, which is seen as predatory by some.

A trading update from Ubisoft could give players a further explanation as to why Shadows is being delayed despite being “feature complete.”

According to the update, “the learnings from the Star Wars Outlaws release” has led the company to reconsider its release schedule for Shadows.

This could be referring to the game-breaking PS5 bugs in Star Wars Outlaws at launch causing many to lose their save data.

Ubisoft also announced that Star Wars Outlaws would be coming to Steam on November 21.

Currently, Outlaws is only available via Ubisoft Connect, Ubisoft’s proprietary launcher for playing Ubisoft games.

It seems that Ubisoft now values the larger reach that Steam provides, as well as the ability to play games via Steam Deck.

‘She’s driving me insane’ rant Emmerdale viewers as they rip into ‘stupid’ character and insist writers ‘do her justice’

EMMERDALE fans are outraged over a ‘gullible’ character and have demanded that ITV soap writers ‘do her justice.’

Fans of Emmerdale are furious with Amelia Spencer as she continues to ignore the red flags in her new relationship with abuser Tom King.

She fails to believe Belle over Tom – but will she live to regret it?[/caption]

Daisy Campbell, 21, has played Amelia Spencer on the long-running ITV soap since 2011.

On Emmerdale, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) left her husband Tom King (James Chase) after enduring months of secret abuse.

In an attempt to get over the breakdown of his marriage, he has embarked on a new relationship.

Before announcing her new relationship, the teen mum also broke up with her boyfriend Noah (Jack Downham).

This was after her baby daddy Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) was sent to prison.

Despite warnings about his behaviour from Belle, Amelia does not want to listen and she even stood up for her new boyfriend.

Last night’s episode saw Belle make a major decision, while evil Tom’s grips on Amelia deepen.

It resulted in Amelia to move out of the house.

Viewers saw her tip Tom off about Belle’s plans, forcing him into a panic.

He told Amelia: “It’s not fair, she’s so crazy and vindictive, I don’t know what I’ll do without you.

“I love you, Amelia.”

In an attempt to block Belle from going to the police, he told Amelia: “I might need your help tomorrow.

“Belle is trying to ruin everything and we can’t let her, can we?

“We can not let her.”

Darkest soap storylines

Over the years the likes of EastEndersEmmerdale and Coronation Street have all tried to try outdo each other with their outlandish plots in a bid to keep us tuning in each week. But here are some of the darkest that had fans in shock…

  • EastEnders: Tony grooming Whitney (2008-2009) – Tony King first appeared in Albert Square in 2008 as the boyfriend of Bianca, played by Patsy Palmer. But it was quickly revealed he was a paedophile who had been grooming vulnerable Whitney, Bianca’s adopted stepdaughter from a previous relationship, since she was 12. The shocking storyline attracted more than 200 complaints within a week of it beginning. Whitney waited until her 16th birthday to reveal the truth to a horrified Bianca, who called the police.
  • Emmerdale: Holly’s drug addiction and shock death (2010-2016) – In 2010, Holly Barton (played by Sophie Powles) became Emmerdale’s first teenage drug addict. The shocking storyline saw her taking cocaine on a night out before developing a deadly heroin habit. Parents John and Moira desperately tried to help get their daughter clean but when Holly returned in 2016, following a four-year absence, she quickly relapsed. Fans were left stunned and heartbroken when distraught Moira found Holly dead in her bed from a heroin overdose.
  • Hollyoaks: Luke’s rape (2000) – Actor Gary Lucy was just 17 when he took on this groundbreaking storyline, which saw his character Luke Morgan become soap’s first male rape victim. Luke had endured a long-running bullying campaign by football rival Mark Gibbs – who raped him after Luke stood up to him. Luke was left suicidal following the brutal attack, before opening up to his brother Adam. Gibbs was sentenced to eight years in prison. Gary won the Best Actor gong at the British Soap Awards in 2000 for his performance.
  • Coronation Street: Evil Richard Hillman (2001-2003) – Just a mere mention of ‘Richard Hillman’ is enough to send a shiver down the spines of soap fans. He is often ranked one of the most evil soap villains and it’s not hard to see why. The smooth-talking financial adviser bashed his ex-wife Patricia over the head with a shovel. In a bid to keep his mother-in-law Audrey quiet, he set fire to her house. And when Maxine caught him trying to murder Emily Bishop, he took a crowbar to her head. He made his exit from the cobbles in 2003 when he drove Gail Platt, played by Helen Worth, and her family into the canal. They survived, but he didn’t.
  • As the credits rolled, it remains to be seen how far Amelia will go to impress Tom – and what it means for Belle.

Fans have been left absolutely fuming with Amelia’s loyalty to Tom as they took to social media.

Taking to forum site Reddit, one viewer wrote: “Amelia is like a moth to flame with scummy men.

“This is like the third time she’s seen a man waving a red flag and gone “oo I’m interested in that”.”

Another added: “She’s annoying, nasty and SO self righteous, but there’s a reason Tom targeted her.”

A third penned: “No one else I’m the village would be gullible enough to take on this storyline… I do hope she comes out of this a stronger person… Writers need to do her justice.”

A fourth said: “I just hate how she is being set up for a fall.  She is so gullible and she is about to be abused in the worst way.

“She will feel so guilty and ashamed about not believing Belle she won’t tell anyone.

“She could wind up dead because she won’t admit she was wrong.”

Will Amelia see Tom’s true colours before it’s too late?

Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.

The isle is located just off Medhufaru in the Noonu Atoll part of the Maldives – and spans 33,437sqm – the size of three football pitches.

It’s being sold by David Britton International for an eye-watering 112 times the price of the average house in the UK – £299,000.

Stunning blueprints show the villa will be complete with “an opulent master suite, a main living area and a breathtaking infinity pool“.

A walkway will link it to a gym and fitness area and guests will have access to a nearby beach shack and a private cinema on the sands.

Visitors can also enjoy a beachside grill and bar with an open-air dining area.

A spokesperson said: “Two exclusive guest villas will sit on the beach with direct access to the tranquillity of the picture-perfect sands.”

Two guest villas are on the blueprints, plus plans to add two more and the complex will also be decked out with three children’s rooms.

North Island is the only single-residence island to exist in the wider Maldives.

A spokesperson said: “The villa complex will be crafted from sustainable, ethically sourced materials, using fast-growing, ultra-sustainable and durable bamboo or plantation-grown wood.

“Whether that’s transforming driftwood into sculptures and statement lighting, using reclaimed telegraph poles for construction, or turning waste metals and glass into eye-catching design details.

“Construction of the island estate will commence when the new owners have had the opportunity to input into the finer details and design features.”

Managing Director David Britton said: “I have walked along the sands and soaked up the picture-perfect views of this truly remarkable island.

“It is paradise personified and without question, the most exclusive and exciting piece of real estate we have had the privilege to market.

“It will make an exceptional holiday retreat for the most discerning of international travellers who will find it offers unparalleled luxury.”

It comes after Raseborg Island, dubbed SuperShe Island is the remote archipelago boasting seven luxe cabins revealed it was going to auction from October 12-26.

SuperShe was once listed for a whopping £2.4 million but sellers are expecting starting bids from around £800,000 to £1.6 million.

The Finnish isle that spans just eight-and-a-half acres sits in the Baltic Sea and is around 100 miles away from Norwegian capital Helsinki.

The tiny off-grid paradise is so far-flung it’s best accessed by boat or helicopter.
