Xbox Game Pass subscribers grab two free movies thanks to new fan-favourite feature

XBOX has disappointed fans lately with all the changes to its Game Pass subscription.

Xbox raised the price of Game Pass recently, and also discontinued its popular Game Pass for Console subscription.

Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can pick up movies for free[/caption]

It replaced Console with Game Pass Standard, which is not only more expensive but doesn’t offer new games.

While Standard does include online play, recently Xbox has not been adding any games to Game Pass Standard.

This month Xbox has added six games for Standard subscribers but has added very little in the preceding months.

While Standard subscribers are still missing out, a new perk has appeared for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.

In the US, Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can grab two horror classics just in time for Halloween.

It’s unusual for Xbox to include movies as part of its subscription, so fans are excited to grab them.

From the wording, it appears that subscribers who grab the films before Halloween (October 31) will be able to keep them for life.

Both movies can be claimed and watched via the Xbox PC app, Xbox mobile app, and the Game Pass section on your console.

The first movie that Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can pick up this month is the original Saw.

While the Saw franchise has become increasingly goofy over the years, the first film is still considered a horror classic.

It begins with two people shackled in a room, and they are told that they must kill the other in order to escape.

Throughout the film, they try to figure out ways to escape without committing murder, as the perpetrator adds in increasingly scary psychological elements.

As the film plays out, you learn more about the pair and how they ended up in the situation, as well as the motivations of the killer.

The second film is the black comedy The Devil’s Rejects, which follows the story of a family on the run.

Cornered by the police after a series of murders, the family tries to outrun the law.

There are only a few weeks where you can pick these games up, so make sure you grab them before the end of the month.

As mentioned, this deal is only available in the US and doesn’t appear to work in other regions.

‘How embarrassing’ says Fallon Sherrock as darts cult hero beats her by using his MOUTH instead of hands to throw

FALLON SHERROCK shared her embarrassment after she was beaten by Wayne Mardle who used his mouth to throw his darts.

The former pro turned commentator is known for being a bit of a maverick.

His opponent Fallon Sherrock says she was left feeling ’embarrassed’

And he took things a step further when he welcomed Sherrock to his Club 501 show.

Mardle interviewed the darts star and played a leg with her, throwing normally until he got down to a finish.

He required 23 to win but instead of completing an easy checkout with his hands, Mardle used his mouth.

Incredibly, his first dart landed on 15, meaning he needed double four to win.

Again he placed a dart into his mouth and blew it towards the board and it landed on double four, sparking joyous celebrations from Mardle.

Sherrock responded saying: “How embarrassing. He didn’t even throw the dart and it went in.”

Sherrock is dating darts star Cameron Menzies and he has credited her for his recent improvement.

Menzies said of their relationship: “She helps me tremendously in my career. When we were dating in the beginning, I was in Scotland a lot and she was in England.

“But we often played against each other by video calling during practice sessions. And we still do practice together a lot.

“Honestly: without her I wouldn’t be where I am today. She also keeps pressing me to train because we both get lazy if we don’t practice.

“Who is the better of the two of us? I think I’m a tad better, but she’s better on stage when you’re in the spotlight. She just handles that better.

“Yes… she has bigger balls than me. I’m getting better at it, but when it comes down to the marbles in an important match Fallon performs better. Hopefully one day I can keep up with her level in that area.”

‘Leopard’s LAIR’ inside metal pipe filled with rotting sheep carcasses in UK countryside – as fears over ‘big cat’ grow

FEARS a big cat could be prowling the countryside have grown after a suspected Leopard’s lair was discovered inside a metal pipe filled with rotting sheep carcasses.

Big cat hunter Darren Tinsley stumbled upon the den in an abandoned, metal pipe.

Half eaten sheep carcasses were strewn inside.

Nearby other remains were discovered in similar conditions.

The 42-year-old said the skin had been peeled back and bones licked clean of flesh.

He believes the creature responsible could be a leopard or puma prowling around Frodsham, near Runcorn, Cheshire.

He said: “They all looked like they have been savaged.

“All the bodies looked like a cat had torn the skin back and eaten it from the insides and out.

“All the skin had been cleaned off like they had been licked off by a big cat.

“There were a few carcasses inside and around the pipe.

“There were others around a tree at the other end of the field – easy places for a cat to kill and eat them without being noticed.”

He added he’d had five big cat sightings over 28 years.

“My first one was in 1997 then 1999 but I didn’t see another until around 2014,” he said.

“It was close up just meters away so I got a good look and then then again in 2015 and 2016.

“But that was the last time – I have not seen not one seen since.

“When I saw one up close it confirmed it for me.

“So I know what I knew I saw every other time.

“I have been obsessed since.”

There are many claims of big cat sightings across the UK each year although hard evidence of their existence remains elusive.

And while over the years, debate has raged over whether grainy pictures and videos can conclusively prove that big beasts are on the prowl, experts insist they are lurking in our countryside.

Leading wildcat expert Rick Minter says he has personally heard of 1,400 credible accounts of big cats in the UK over the last decade, but believes they are the “tip of the iceberg” as most go unreported.

Women to self-refer for life-saving breast cancer scans without going to the GP first under new fast-track scheme

WOMEN could refer themselves for breast cancer scans under plans to slash NHS delays.

Health Secretary Wes Streeting said the standard process of booking a GP appointment to get a hospital referral is a “waste of everyone’s time”.

He said women with worrying lumps should be able to book into scan clinics directly through the NHS app or 111 phone line and website.

The fast-track system will be trialled in Somerset from November before a possible national rollout.

Breast cancer is the most common type of the disease in Britain with 57,000 cases per year.

Catching it early is vital to survival and the current system can cause harmful delays.

The earlier breast cancer is diagnosed the better the chance of lives being saved

Sally KumBreast Cancer Now

Mr Streeting told the Royal College of GPs conference in Liverpool that self-referral could later be opened up for more conditions.

He said: “Where there are appointments that can be cut out, with patients seen by specialists faster and GPs’ time freed up, we will act.

“That means faster diagnosis for cancer patients and more GP appointments.

“Where patient pathways can be simplified through self-referral or direct referral by other NHS services to save time, we will act.”

Currently women with possible symptoms of breast cancer must see a GP first, who can refer them for a hospital scan if they are concerned.

The process can take weeks.

There is also free routine breast screening but it is offered only in middle and old age and at three-year intervals, not in response to symptoms.

Sally Kum, from the charity Breast Cancer Now, said: “The earlier breast cancer is diagnosed the better the chance of treatment being successful and lives being saved.

“We welcome the Government’s focus on ensuring more people get referred to a specialist faster when they find a breast change.”

Dr Vin Diwakar, of NHS England, added: “New technology has the power to transform how we manage our healthcare.

“This is just the start of our plans to bring NHS services to patients through the app.”

Bureaucracy bonfire pledge

It comes as Mr Streeting pledged a bonfire of red tape to cut GP waiting times.

He said family doctors spend up to a fifth of their time doing paperwork.

The Department of Health and NHS will carry out a review of admin tasks that can be scrapped, he said.
