World champion Kyren Wilson launches extraordinary blast at snooker chiefs and blasts ‘same s**t different day’
KYREN WILSON blasted snooker chiefs after being dumped out of the British Open by Elliott Slessor last night.
The reigning world champion, 32, was beaten 4-2 by Slessor in Cheltenham.
Kyren Wilson has grown frustrated with the treatment he has received[/caption]Despite winning at The Crucible, Wilson was not given top billing in Cheltenham.
Instead, his fourth round clash took place on Table 2.
Following his defeat, Wilson posted a strong message to his Instagram Story, criticising the treatment he has received this year.
In an X-rated post, he wrote: “Same s*** different day demoted to table 2 again and get found out! What benefits does a world champion get nowadays?
“Graveyard shift in Brentwood, table 2 in Saudi every game whilst being the number 1 seed there!
“Table 2 tonight in Cheltenham and being the highest ranked in the session… unfortunately nothing ever changes with the sport I love, if your face doesn’t fit… tough [thumbs up emoji].”
After his Instagram post began to circulate online, Wilson added a further blast on X.
He wrote: “People can have their opinions, Always been that you earn the right for the privileges. Apparently not anymore.

“I always try to promote the sport & be a good ambassador for it, What’s the point?”
During his illustrious career to date, Wilson has won 10 professional titles.
He defeated Jak Jones 18-14 back in May to become world champion for the first time.
Wilson also reached the Crucible final in 2020, but lost out on that occasion to Ronnie O’Sullivan.
Since becoming world champion, he has added one further title to his resume.
He beat Judd Trump 10-8 last month to win the Xi’an Grand Prix in China.
Wilson banked £500,000 for his Crucible exploits earlier this year.
In total he has earned more than £3.5m in prize money during his career.
Wilson isn’t the only snooker star to have grown frustrated this week.
Former world No1 Mark Allen apologised to ITV’s Rob Walker after furiously claiming that the British Open table needed to be “burnt” following his 4-3 first round win over Gary Wilson.
Speaking to ITV‘s snooker reporter, Allen said: “The conditions out there are absolutely embarrassing.
It’s some of the worst weather outside and they’ve left the massive transport doors open. It’s so cold, it’s so humid out there.
“There’s new guys doing the tables this year and they’re clearly not up to it.
“The cushions are unplayable, uncontrollable. It was heavy… the table needs to be burned.”
Amazon sales of ‘perfect’ and ‘durable’ Regatta waterproof soar by 263%
AMAZON has heard shopper’s cries for autumn and winter fashion deals, and reduced a variety of waterproof jackets to under £10.
One of the many items on sale includes Regatta’s Stormbreaker Jacket, which has been slashed from £30 down to £8.99.
Regatta Mens Stormbreaker Jacket, £14.95 (was £30)
The Regatta Men’s Stormbreaker Jacket has been reduced by 50% in the Amazon sale.
I spotted this big-brand wet-weather essential on Amazon’s Movers and Shakers selection – sales have rocketed by 263%.
This discount comes with perfect times as the UK braces itself for heavy downpours and floods.
The jacket has been reduced to as little as £14.90 on the Amazon website, though prices vary across sizes and colours.
The Regatta Men’s Stormbreaker Jacket may be listed as best for men, but, as a woman, I would gladly wear this waterproof for Sunday strolls on a wet and windy afternoon.
Plus, there are plenty of sizes to protect children from the elements too.
The Stormbreaker is available in children’s sizes aged 2 to 14 years old, in sizes from small to XXXL, and to fit those with a 32-inch and 34-inch chest.
The jacket is mid-length, as it falls just under the bottom, has long sleeves, and a hood.
It’s a lightweight waterproof, which is perfect to style over light layers for the spring and summer, as well as layer over chunky knitwear in the colder months too.
Plus, this light fabric makes it easy to roll up and keep in a rucksack when on the go, so you are not caught out in a downpour – we all know how unpredictable the British weather can be.
One detail I love are the taped seams, which prevent any draughts or droplets from seeping into the jacket that leaves the wearer wet and cold.
This Regatta jacket is actually an item that Sun writer Charlie Thomas featured in his pick of the best men’s jackets.
Shoppers have praised this wet-weather item for how lightweight, durable and comfortable it is.
One happy shopper gushed: “Simple, effective, super-light and very comfortable. I would recommend buying a size up, as I am a medium and it was snug with a jumper under it.”
Another added: “Good quality, fitted perfectly, has pockets. Lightweight and comfortable.”
A separate shopper wrote: “[An] ideal waterproof [that’s] well made and does the job. The fit is good too.”
While another review read: “Great colour, true to size and very durable. Folds up very small to fit into a bag. Perfect for light showers.”
Another Amazon customer wrote: “Living in the UK, you know at some time you’ll be caught in a shower, and this jacket fits the bill. It is nicely made and fits well.”
It’s unknown how long the Amazon deal will last for, but I would suggest you act fast to pick it up at half-price – and just for this current spell of wet weather.
Let’s be honest: this isn’t the last rain we’ll be seeing in the UK.
