Anthony Joshua has ‘gone backwards’ and ‘hasn’t got right team around him’ says Brit boxing legend who wants BIG changes

ANTHONY JOSHUA needs a “big shakeup” because he’s gone “backwards” with the wrong team around him, claims Carl Froch.

Joshua, 34, suffered a devastating knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in five rounds in front of a British-record 98,000 fans last week at Wembley.

And boxing legend Froch insists big changes are in order if AJ wants a rematch with Dubois as he hasn’t evolved since leaving former trainer Rob McCracken.

The Brit star, though, is not ruling out a major comeback and a third world heavyweight championship for Joshua.

Froch said on his YouTube channel Froch on Fighting: “My point is, he’s gone backwards since leaving Rob McCracken.

“And if he’s gonna move forward and come back and have a rematch with Daniel Dubois then I don’t think he’s got the right team around him.

“He needs a big shakeup in the team, he needs to make changes and – before that – get his head right and then go for it because he’s in the twilight of his career now

“I’m not saying he can’t come back and he can’t go on to become a three-time world champion but it’s gonna be a tough mountain to climb.”

Froch also criticised Joshua’s trainer Ben Davidson’s “very strange” advice after the fourth round.

Davidson told Joshua: “He’s rush stepping in with the jab almost every time unless you’re galloping around.

“Slip or bring it up. In behind that double jab, bring it up, roll the dice. Roll the dice!”

Froch is adamant that was the wrong advice as it put Joshua in a very dangerous position.

The former world champion added: “At the end of round four, he sat down in his corner and the advice from Ben Davidson was very strange.

“Ben Davidson told him to roll the dice, told him to go for it, he wanted AJ to look for the uppercut on his front foot, which is a dangerous punch.

“Because when you throw the uppercut at range you leave your chin exposed.”

Froch doubled down on his criticism of Davidson insisting his idea to “roll the dice” was “stupid”.

The Nottingham bruiser is adamant you can’t follow that tactic against a “big puncher” like Dubois.

Froch added: “That’s why the ‘roll the dice’ in round five was a stupid idea, because you’re not going to roll the dice against someone who is a big puncher.

“All the heavyweights bang, but Daniel Dubois is known for being an absolute tank with that right hand, if he hits them you see the effect. Anthony Joshua looked like he had been tasered.”

Joshua is heading for a rematch with Dubois, who also appears keen, and the fight could take place in Saudi Arabia.

Attendees are encouraged to wear attire inspired by the dashing bowman, who stole from the rich to give to the poor, all while wearing tights and a feathered bycocket hat.

After the swingers have tired themselves out among the trees they’ll head into the city itself for a night at The Purple Mamba Club.

The event is scheduled for October 5, from 4pm, with early bird tickets priced at £40 – while couples can secure a spot for £10 and singletons £5, according to What’s The Jam.

The evening party begins at 9pm at the members only swingers venue.

TEAM UP

The club announced: “Join forces with other members to hunt for clues to discover Throbbing Hood’s secret treasure across Nottingham from 4pm.

“Which teams will win? Race across Nottingham to solve clues before re-grouping for a lively social from 7pm followed by a memorable club night from 9pm.”

It adds: “A great fun social followed by a club night with live music from the amazing Pancake Boy and Misshapen.”

It comes after swingers revealed what really goes on at such events.

Group sex nights are springing up all over the UK – proving Brits aren’t quite as strait-laced as people may think.

Swingers made headlines after Somerset villagers complained about a members-only group called Exclusively Silks hosting “intimate parties” at a local hotel.

They described people “spilling out into the gardens and pool” at night and causing a noise nuisance.

Clubs hosting intimate sex parties exist all over Britain, from Dunstable to Doncaster, from Bedford to Bournemouth.

One online directory of swingers’ clubs lists more than 90 in the UK.

Thousands of SWINGERS descend on sleepy village for UK’s biggest sex festival

By Karim Camara

THOUSANDS of swingers descended on a sleepy village for Britain’s biggest sex festival earlier this summer.

The four-day sex and fetish event – called Swingathon – kicked off on July 18 in the quaint hamlet of Allington, near Grantham, Lincs.

Irate residents complained to police about “screaming and moaning” coming from the countryside site and keeping them up at night in previous years.

And this year’s X-rated festival was Swingathon’s biggest yet, featuring “play tents”, pole dancing, hot tubs, foam parties, mobile dungeons – and butt-plug bingo.

Kinky guests forked out £265 a ticket and numbers doubled from 500 to 1,000 in the last year, with organisers promising it would be “bigger, bolder, better”.

The event incorporated another raunchy festival aimed at people with fetishes called FetFest.

Fetfest featured BDSM and sex toy stalls, “bookable private play areas” as well as a whip-throwing area “to get some practice in.”

Other entertainment included a Naked Attraction-style competition, drag and burlesque acts as well as sensual massages.

Alejandro Garnacho’s brother gives clear reason to back Erik ten Hag and slams Man Utd flops

ALEJANDRO GARNACHO’S brother has backed Erik ten Hag and pointed to the real reason behind Manchester United’s failures.

The Red Devils have drawn their last two games, including being held at home in the Europa League to FC Twente.

Alejandro Garnacho’s brother came out in defence of Ten Hag[/caption]

United have just two wins from five Premier League games and are 11th in the table, sparking criticism of Ten Hag.

But Garnacho’s brother Roberto has launched a defence of the Dutchman, arguing the players should be able to beat a side like Twente regardless of the manager.

He also highlighted poor finishing against Palace as the reason why United failed to win, and pointed to an individual mistake which led to Twente’s goal.

Roberto wrote on X: “Btw you all blame Ten Hag, but 11 United players not being able to smash them at home, I don’t think that’s on Ten Hag mate.

“We literally dominated the whole game, we couldn’t score more than a goal, individual mistake makes them score, what’s he supposed to do?

“They were not even getting into our box, if we are not able to score more than a goal against Twente, it is not on him (their goal was a mistake from one of our players too).

“Same last game btw, dominated but couldn’t score a goal, somehow last week it was the wingers’ fault, this one Ten Hag’s.

“If last game we would have gone 2-0 at half-time and won (attackers’ fault because they couldn’t score their chances) you all would say he is being perfect, same today.”

Man Utd player ratings vs FC Twente

MANCHESTER UNITED'S Europa League campaign got off to a less than ideal start with a miserable 1-1 draw against FC Twente at Old Trafford.

That result dealt a big blow to their chances of finishing in the top eight and avoiding two extra fixtures.

See how the players rated on an underwhelming night at Old Trafford.

Andre Onana – 6

Good save to push a free-kick from Sem Steijn to safety but might be disappointed to be beaten at the near post for Twente’s goal.

Diogo Dalot – 6

Early mistake near the corner flag could have been costly but he caused problems at the other end in build up to Christian Eriksen goal.

Harry Maguire – 6

Missed his tackle to put United on the back foot for the equaliser but almost won it late on with a header cleared off the line.

Lisandro Martinez – 7

Made several important clearances but one wild challenge on edge of his box could have proven costly.

Noussair Mazraoui – 6

New boy looks solid. Vital early tackle and another one later to stop Twente going in front.

Christian Eriksen – 7

Fourth successive start – and the veteran still looked sprightly. What a strike to give United the lead but then spoiled it with mistake for equaliser.

Manuel Ugarte – 6

A few good tackles from the new boy but might be disappointed not to clear his lines as Twente broke away for equaliser.

Marcus Rashford – 8

Much improved display in front of watching England interim boss Lee Carsley. Full of energy, a few tricks and a couple of dangerous crosses. More like his old self.

Bruno Fernandes – 6

Skipper had a hand in the opening goal and was so close to winning it with curler from the edge of the box.

Amad Diallo – 6

His pace was too much to handle for the visitors at times but not much of an end product this time and made way for Alejandro Garnacho midway through the second half.

Joshua Zirkzee – 5

A few good moments and forced a flying save from the visitors’ keeper after nice link up with Diogo Dalot – but then hooked for the fit-again Rasmus Hojlund.

Garnacho was brought on as a substitute against Twente shortly before they scored, and pundit Ruud Gullit believes he did not want to listen to the final instructions Ten Hag dished out.

Gullit said: “Ten Hag wanted to have a meeting with Garnacho, but he didn’t feel like it at all.

“Garnacho was preparing to come on and Ten Hag kept talking to him.

“You can just see it when a player thinks: ‘Dude, leave me alone, man!’”
