If you haven’t seen his cookalong videos, you are in for a treat – trust us!

From primi to secondi courses, and everything in between, there is a feast of classics to enjoy, such as the recipe for his mum’s meatballs, as well as the intriguing TikTok-inspired penne alla vodka.
But it’s not all pizza and pasta.

We are loving Angelo’s desserts and even cocktails to set the mood.

Here, Kirsty Spence brings you some easy recipes from Angelo’s book, which are so much fun to make and even more enjoyable to share. Buon appetito . . .

Cheesy lemon scaloppine

  • Serves: 4
  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Cook time: 15 minutes

I ALWAYS make these super-cheesy lemon scaloppine when I want something delicious for dinner but don’t have a lot of time to cook.

If you want to make them extra sexy, try replacing the lemon juice with Marsala wine.

a pan of chicken with lemon slices next to a plate of tomatoes
This cheesy lemon scaloppine recipe should take just 15 minutes to cook
Supplied

YOU NEED:

  • 2 skinless and boneless chicken breasts
  • 50g plain flour
  • 50g unsalted butter
  • 50ml lemon juice
  • 50g provolone cheese, sliced (or use mozzarella)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

METHOD:

  1. Cut each chicken breast in half horizontally so you end up with four chicken steaks.
  2. Place each steak into a ziplock bag and pound it with a rolling pin until it is about 6mm thick. Gently dust each steak with flour and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a frying pan over a medium heat. After a couple of minutes, when the pan is hot and the butter is sizzling, add your chicken steaks and cook for a couple of minutes on each side.
  4. Reduce heat to low-medium, pour the lemon juice over the chicken and season with salt and pepper, then cook for a further five minutes on each side or until the chicken is cooked through. Always make sure your chicken is fully cooked, and remember cooking time may vary depending on thickness of chicken steaks.
  5. Turn off the heat and place the cheese slices on top of your scaloppine. Cover the pan with a lid and let the cheese melt in the residual heat for a couple of minutes until . . . super sexy.
  6. Serve with a sprinkle of pepper and lemon slices if you like.

SEXY TIP: Serve your lemon scaloppine topped with some fresh rocket and cherry tomatoes.

Baked ricotta balls

  • Serves: 6
  • Prep time: 20 minutes
    Cook time: 50 minutes

MY mum made these super-cheesy treats for Sunday lunch when I was a kid. You can use your favourite vegetables for the filling.

Here, I’ve used spinach, but courgettes and squash work fine, too.

Supplied

YOU NEED:

  • 20g unsalted butter
  • 50g breadcrumbs, plus 2 tbsp for the baking dish
  • Drizzle of extra virgin olive oil
  • 800g fresh spinach
  • 500g ricotta
  • 2 eggs
  • 40g parmesan, grated, plus 3 tbsp for topping
  • Pinch of ground nutmeg
  • 100g plain, all-purpose flour
  • 250g provolone cheese, sliced
  • 500ml bechamel sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper

METHOD:

  1. Preheat the oven to 200C/ 180C fan.
  2. Grease a 20×30 cm (8x12in) baking dish with the butter and then scatter the 2 tbsp of breadcrumbs all over. Then set aside.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan or skillet over a low to medium heat.
  4. Add the spinach and season with a pinch of salt, then cook for ten minutes until wilted.
  5. Allow to cool completely before chopping.
  6. Tip the ricotta into a bowl and break it up with a fork.
  7. Add the chopped spinach, along with the eggs, the 40g parmesan, and nutmeg.
  8. Season with salt and pepper and stir well to combine.
  9. Now add the 50g of breadcrumbs and mix again. Shape the mixture into small balls of about 40g each (you should get about 30).
  10. Tip the flour into a shallow bowl and dip the ricotta balls into the flour to coat. Place them in the prepared baking dish.
  11. Arrange the provolone cheese slices on top, then pour over the bechamel sauce.
  12. Scatter the remaining 3 tbsp of parmesan on top then cover with foil and bake in the oven for 40 minutes, removing the foil for the final ten minutes of cooking time so a nice crust can form on top.
  13. Serve and enjoy.

My mum’s meatballs

  • Serves: 4-6
  • Prep time: 15 minutes
    Cook time: 50 minutes

MY mum makes the best meatballs, and I am so pleased to be sharing her recipe.

Serve as a main course with some mashed potatoes, or make them super-small to garnish some pasta.

  • Milk, to cover
  • 800g minced beef
  • 1 egg
  • Small bunch basil, chopped
  • 30g grated parmesan

  • Generous drizzle of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 400g tin peeled tomatoes

  7. Use your hands to roll it into small balls about the size of a table-tennis ball (this recipe should make about 40 balls).
  8. Drop meatballs into sauce and cook over a low–medium heat for 15 to 20 minutes, turning halfway through. Serve warm with mashed potato.

Penne alla vodka

  • Serves: 4
  • Prep time: 5 minutes
  • Cook Time: 20 minutes

PENNE alla vodka is a classic Italian pasta recipe from the 1980s, and it is super-easy to make.

Traditionally, this sauce is served with penne, but rigatoni and spaghetti will also work perfectly.

  • 300ml tomato passata
  • 80ml double cream
  • 360g penne pasta
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Small bunch parsley, finely chopped, to serve

METHOD:

  1. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over a low-medium heat. Add onion, chilli and bay leaf, and sizzle for a couple of minutes.

  3. Add the cream and cook for a further five minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, bring a large saucepan of salted water to the boil over a medium heat.
  5. Add pasta and cook for two to three minutes until al dente. Drain, reserving a couple of ladlefuls of the pasta water.
  6. Add the pasta to your sauce and toss well over the heat to combine all the flavours, adding a drop of pasta water to loosen if necessary.
    Serve topped with parsley.

SEXY TIP: Add some smoked pancetta and chopped garlic to your sauce for some extra flavour.

Sicilian cod

  • Serves: 4
  • Prep time: 10 minutes
  • Cook time: 35 minutes

I LEARNED this dish from Carlo, a Sicilian fishmonger who I met on holiday in Palermo a few years ago.

It is easy and quick to make. For extra sexiness, flour the fish before adding it to the pan.

Shoppers divided over roast potato mayo spotted at supermarket saying ‘I can’t tell if this will be delightful or awful’

SHOPPERS have been left divided after they spotted a roast potato mayonnaise on the shelves of one supermarket.

The divisive product was launched as part of Asda’s festive range alongside a range of other themed items.

Facebook
The brand new mayo had been spotted in stores by eagle-eyed shoppers[/caption]

The roast potato flavoured condiment has however caused a stir on social media, with some commenting that they can’t tell if the product will be “delightful” or “disgusting.”

Garnering thousands of comments on social media, one customer tagging her friends on Facebook wrote: “How stunning does this sound.”

Another user added they were “all over this.”

Some have already purchased the sauce and said it is “absolutely delicious.”

It even prompted others to visit their nearest store store, saying “off to Asda now.”

Some have even planned how to incorporate it into their meals, with one person saying they could use this to “make a Christmas dinner leftovers sandwich at teatime.”

Another said: “Sounds perfect in a ready salted crisp sandwich or with a stuffing sarnie.”

One person even thought about how the sauce could be “banging in a homemade potato salad.”

But not everybody shared this same sentiment.

One person said: “I may need to try this, sounds disgusting but I love a roast tattie.”

Another added: “Why? What’s the point? Just have roast potatoes with proper mayo.”

The product is currently retailing at £1.10 at Asda stores according to the chain.

It described the sauce as a light creamy mayonnaise, with roast garlic, onion and rosemary which gives it its festive flavour.

The mayo was launched as part of the supermarket giant’s Christmas range, which also includes mince pies and camembert-flavoured crisps.

The Sun tried out some of these products earlier this month, including the seven different types of mince pies that will feature in stores.

This includes the return of its Brown Butter & Rum Mince Pies as well as a brand new Toffee Apple Spiced flavour.

Selected products from the 500 item strong Christmas range are available in stores and online now.

For further product details of the festive range, Asda’s Christmas food and drink Look Book can be viewed online here.

Funky condiments have been around long before Asda’s new sauce.

Earlier this month, Heinz launched its Monster Munch pickled onion flavoured mayo.

The “scarily good” collaborative product was created ahead of Halloween celebrations in October.

Asda itself also launched a chip shop curry mayonnaise earlier this year.

How to save at Asda

Shop the budget range

Savvy shopper Eilish Stout-Cairns recommends that shoppers grab items from Asda’s Just Essentials range.

She said: “Asda’s budget range is easy to spot as it’s bright yellow! Keep your eyes peeled for yellow and you’ll find their Just Essentials range.

“It’s great value and I’ve found it has a much wider selection of budget items compared to other supermarkets.

 Sign up to Asda Rewards

The savvy-saver also presses on the importance of signing up to Asda’s reward scheme.

She said: “Asda Rewards is free to join and if you shop at Asda you should absolutely sign up.

“As an Asda Rewards member, you’ll get exclusive discounts and offers, and you’ll also be able to earn 10% cashback on Star Products.

“This will go straight into your cashpot, and once you’ve earned at least £1, you can transfer the money in your cashpot into ASDA vouchers.

We’ve previously rounded up the best supermarket loyalty schemes – including the ones that will save you the most money.

Look out for booze deals

Eilish always suggests that shoppers looking to buy booze look out for bargain deals.

She said: “Asda often has an alcohol offer on: buy six bottles and save 25%.

“The offer includes selected bottles with red, white and rose options, as well as prosecco. There are usually lots of popular bottles included, for example, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot, Oyster Bay Hawkes Bay Merlot and Freixenet Prosecco D.O.C.

“Obviously, the more expensive the bottles you choose, the more you save.”

Join Facebook groups

The savvy saver also recommends that fans of Asda join Facebook groups to keep in the know about the latest bargains in-store.

Eilish said: “I recommend joining the Latest Deals Facebook Group to find out about the latest deals and new launches in store.

“Every day, more than 250,000 deal hunters share their latest bargain finds and new releases.

“For example, recently a member shared a picture of Asda’s new Barbie range spotted in store.

“Another member shared the bargain outdoor plants she picked up, including roses for 47p, blackcurrant bushes for 14p and topiary trees for 14p.”

Oasis in talks for epic live album of their sell-out gigs meaning fans who missed out may still get to hear shows

OASIS’s sell-out reunion gigs next summer will not be televised, but you may still get a chance to hear the shows.

Insiders have told me that brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher will be offered the chance to record a live album to celebrate Oasis Live ’25.

Liam and Noel Gallagher will be offered the chance to record a live album to celebrate Oasis Live ’25[/caption]

Those close to the pair are sure they will take up the offer, which will immortalise their comeback.

A source said: “The Oasis reunion is an historic moment and these concerts will be talked about for decades to come. Many people around the brothers think they have to capture the shows.

Homecoming shows

“A live album of the Oasis reunion could be as iconic as The Who’s Live At Leeds in 1970 or Queen’s Live At Wembley ’86.

“It would capture the rock ’n’ roll alchemy that happens when Noel and Liam are on stage together.

“By the time they’re playing next summer, it will have been 16 years since they last performed together and the sound will have evolved — and that is special.

A recording at Heaton Park or Wembley would make the most sense — given that Heaton will be the brothers’ homecoming shows in Manchester, and Wembley is one of the most famous venues in the world.

“The concerts are a long way off and Oasis are focused on those shows at the moment.

“But Noel and Liam would be mad not to record their reunion in a live album.”

Oasis released two live records, during their heyday.

Familiar To Millions was put out in November 2000, four months after Oasis’ two huge Wembley shows that summer, and it sold more than a million copies.

And Knebworth 1996, which was recorded across two shows at the Hertford-shire venue that year, came out in September 2021 and got to No4 in the albums chart.

Given how much the Oasis reunion shows mean to fans, I imagine the proposed album would go straight to the top spot.

Sell-out concerts make Coldplay one in million

COLDPLAY will play to almost a million people at Wembley Stadium next summer – as all ten of their dates have sold out.

Fans fought to get tickets when they went on sale yesterday – but despite the band adding an extra four nights at the London venue, they still sold out within hours.

a man sits in a lotus position on a stage with his eyes closed
PA
Coldplay will play to almost a million people at Wembley Stadium next summer[/caption]

The dates went on sale at 9am, and when I took a peek at midday, there were still 246,000 people in front of me in the online queue, which suggested that the tickets were already gone.

But I have to doff my hat to frontman Chris Martin and his band for turning off dynamic pricing, following the backlash over the Oasis reunion shows recently where the cost soared when fewer tickets were available.

There will still be a chance to see the shows for a very low price, though.

The group will make a limited number of “Infinity Tickets” available on Ticketmaster at 12pm on November 22, costing only £20 each, to make their gigs accessible to everyone.

Along with powering their shows exclusively with renewable energy, they really are proving they are the good guys of pop.

The name’s Bono . . .

DANIEL CRAIG must want to make it clear his days as 007 are done – as I wouldn’t trust a bloke looking like this to protect the country.

I can’t blame Daniel for being sick of wearing a tux after all that time as James Bond, but I didn’t expect him to transform into Bono.

The hair, stubble and tinted round glasses were so like the U2 singer as he and wife Rachel Weisz attended Paris Fashion Week’s Loewe show.

As for the jumper and baggy trousers, Rachel must wish he’d dig out the tux again.

Padam sexy Kylie

GREAT to see Kylie Minogue back with new music – and a smouldering video.

The Padam Padam singer strikes this sexy pose in the promo for Lights, Camera, Action, out yesterday.

Kylie Minogue strikes this sexy pose in the promo for Lights, Camera, Action

It is the lead single from her new album Tension II, which follows on October 18.

Kylie sings: “I hate to be waiting, so hold the door. I got shades on my face and I’m looking like Lagerfeld’s in Vogue.” And she later adds: “I look stellar tonight, my armour is by Gaultier.”

Yesterday tickets went on sale for the Aussie hitmaker’s 2025 tour, her first shows in six years – and I’ve no doubt Lights, Camera, Action will be high up on the set list.

You’re a big loser, Kanye

KANYE WEST has made a £27million loss on an oceanfront Malibu house, having sold it just three years after buying.

The rapper bought the super-pad in the sought-after area of California for £43million in 2021 and completely gutted it, with the strange idea to transform it into an, er, bomb shelter.

But after spending a fortune ripping out every-thing that had made the place special, he got bored of his plan and stuck the property on the market.

Unsurprisingly, there wasn’t that much buyer interest, given all the work that now needs doing to make it habitable, and he’s had to sell for a cut-price £16million.

I doubt we will be catching him on Grand Designs.

LADY GAGA thought fiance Michael Polansky was joking when he popped the question on April 1.

And on last night’s Graham Norton Show, she admitted leaking the news to French President Emmanuel Macron in July.

She said: “We were filmed at the Olympics saying hello to him and I was caught saying, ‘This is my fiancé.’ I had wanted to keep it a secret!”

Broudie a no-fly zone

THE LIGHTNING SEEDS frontman Ian Broudie has revealed he has terrifying claustrophobia which stops him getting on planes and means he even avoids lifts.

He opens up in a Lightning Seeds special on Virgin Radio tomorrow, where he is interviewed by Kaiser Chiefs lead singer Ricky Wilson, and listeners can also hear a live session from Ian.

He said: “I have developed a claustrophobia so I find it really difficult to go in lifts or the Tube or something like that. I’m not very good with it. I’m fine here because I know I can get out of the door. It’s all about being able to get out, really.

“It’s illogical and I’ve been to doctors and they’ve said, ‘Oh, take these pills,’ and I’m going, ‘I don’t want to because maybe this is me, part of my creative thing.’”

Is it Pixie? Corset is

PIXIE LOTT showed off her curves in a tight corset as she launched her first record in ten years.

The singer invited Bizarre to a 14-song set to celebrate the release of album Encino in London on Thursday night.

Pixie belted out big hits including Mama Do and All About Tonight, along with a raft of tracks from Encino, which shot straight into the iTunes chart when it was released yesterday.

I’m already excited about what she will do next!

LANA DEL REY will be swamped with well-wishes today after marrying alligator tour guide boyfriend Jeremy Dufrene.

The singer got hitched in Louisiana where her beau runs his boat trips.

The couple only went public in August and wed on Thursday. Earlier this month they attended singer Karen Elson’s wedding in New York, pictured.

Given she’s now loved up, the moody Summertime Sadness hitmaker might change her tone on her next record.
