A COUPLE have revealed how they bought the “ugliest house on the street” and with a few simple DIY’s they’ve increased the property price by more than double.

Elena and her husband Bob bought a rundown and outdated home for £208,000, with the intention of flipping it, and selling it on.

However, they were so impressed by how it turned out, that they decided to stay living it.

When they first purchased the property, it looked incredibly unfashionable, with white lacy curtains, dated glass cabinets and cheap looking flush-mount dome lights.

The carpets were beige, portraits hung at odd angles on the walls, and a garish, giant gold mirror took up most of the wall in the dining room.

The bathroom was bright pink, the ceiling fans looked archaic, and none of the furniture looked like it had been replaced in at least 50 years.

The couple, from Canada, set to work straight away on transforming the property, and completely gutted it of the previous owners’ belongings.

They stripped the walls, removed the flooring, and knocked down walls.

The couple worked tirelessly, repainting the entire house, adding in a new staircase, and replacing the carpets with tiled flooring.

The house now looks completely unrecognisable, and Elena and Bob have described it as being “priceless”.

Sharing a video of the transformation to their YouTube channel. @thishouse5000, they revealed the ugly chandelier in the dining room has been replaced with a chic glass light fixture.

The walls have been stripped back to reveal stylish exposed brick, and hanging plants cascade from the bedroom ceiling, giving an elegant waterfall affect.

The bathroom has been completely covered in black and white tiles and the kitchen door has been knocked down, to create a stunning exposed brick archway.

The house is now worth £445,000, meaning that it has more than doubled in price.

The transformation has likely left many people impressed, as the video has racked up a whopping 1.5 million views on the video sharing platform.

YouTube users raced to the comments section of the video to share their thoughts.

One person said: “You guys did great. What a beautiful home. Congratulations!”

A Second person said: “Amazing job, the best part of getting your own place is getting to turn it into the spot you can’t wait to get back to!”

A third person said: “Beautiful! Amazing what a little bit of vision and a lot of hard work and sacrifices can do… great job guys!!”

A fourth person added: “That is an amazing transformation.

“It was pretty bad and now it’s like a paradise.

A WOMAN has revealed her husband is having an affair and she isn’t bothered by it.

She explained she loves her husband “like a brother” and although they are married, doesn’t admire him romantically.

As a result, the anonymous woman confessed she doesn’t mind that he has found someone else whom he has feelings for.

The woman took to social media to open up on her situation, leaving many open-mouthed.

Posting on the r/offmychest thread, under the username @efficient_East_9413, the woman titled her post ‘My husband is having an affair and I’m OK with it’.

She then explained: “My husband Frank is the most caring, loving and attentive man I’ve ever known.

“Problem is, I love him like a friend or a brother. I care for him, I want him to be happy, but I don’t love him romantically. 

“He knew this and he still married me to save me from my abusive family.

“He did hope I’d get feelings for him, but I never did – at least in the romantic sense. 

“We are great partners otherwise, in life and business (we set up our own business), and I enjoy having sex with him.”

The Reddit user confessed she isn’t keen on getting a divorce and as a result, is accepting of the fact he’s developed feelings for another woman.

She continued: “We talked about the possibility of a divorce, but I never wanted one.

“I’m perfectly fine the way things are and a divorce, even the most amicable, would bring problems to our business and life I really don’t need at the moment.

“But that said, I didn’t want to make the man who literally saved my life feel in a cage, and so I gave him the freedom to be in a relationship with other women. 

“For two years he didn’t do anything, but three months ago he came to me and confessed there’s a woman he’s developing feelings for and who reciprocated him.

“He was feeling ashamed about this, I hugged him tight and reminded him that I want this for him and I want him to have a partner who loves him the way he loves them. It feels so fine.

“I was afraid he’d neglect me from then on, but he’s as attentive, affectionate and caring as ever, and I can see this relationship is really doing him good.

The woman shared that she is happy that her man is now being fulfilled, as she concluded: “So I’m not worried about her hurting Frank or turning him against me. 

“She’s not interested in marriage, which is exactly what I needed.

“Frank is happy, and this makes me happy in turn. I told him I would be open to discuss separation (not divorce) if his relationship with this woman gets more serious. But things are fine now.”

THE fate of Hezbollah’s leader is still unknown after Israel launched a missile barrage targeting Hassan Nasrallah on Friday.

Israel announced their deadly strikes had ripped through the 64-year-old terror chief’s underground command post in Beirut but neither side has confirmed his death or survival yet.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) declined to comment on if their fighter jet blitz had successfully eliminated Nasrallah.

But they did confirm to have killed several Hezbollah officials including Muhammad Ali Ismail, the commander of Hezbollah’s missile unit in southern Lebanon.

His deputy and “other senior officials” were also taken out.

Some reports claim Nasrallah is still alive, with sources saying he was inside an underground bunker at the time of the strike.

No official statement has been released by Hezbollah about the bearded firebrand leader yet.

Leading many to speculate on his health.

Nasrallah is often tasked with addressing his terrorist fighters after serious Israeli attacks on TV.

Sources believe if he is still alive then an appearance to his followers will be imminent to squash fears of the terror regime losing its leader.

If Nasrallah is dead then it will mark a pivotal night for Israel with the chief being the biggest name on their kill list so far.

Nasrallah led Iran-backed Hezbollah during the last war with Israel in 2006 and has been a thorn in his enemies side ever since.

He oversaw a massive Iran-backed programme of rebuilding the group’s military machine to become the most heavily armed terror group on Earth.

Just days ago he pledged to carry on fighting Israel armed with a terrifying arsenal of 150,000 missiles and drones.

IDF military spokesperson Daniel Hagari said on Friday that a “precise strike” hit Hezbollah’s “central headquarters” located underneath residential buildings in Dahiyeh.

Images of the Lebanese suburb shows a series of huge explosions with large mushroom clouds erupting into the sky last night.

A source close to Hezbollah said the wave of strikes took out six buildings – including apartment blocks.

Six people were killed along with another 91 wounded, according to preliminary data from Lebanon’s health ministry.

A second round of Israeli strikes hit the same area of Beirut later in the night.

Pictures show smoking buildings early this morning following the successive blitzes.

Hezbollah has already retaliated after they fired rockets on the Israeli city of Safed – but there are no reports of casualties.

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Khamenei, is set to hold an emergency meeting of the Supreme National Security Council to respond to the Israeli attacks.

Narallah’s backers in Iran’s embassy in Beirut said the latest massive strike on the Lebanese capital was a “dangerous, game-changing escalation”.

The embassy added the strike was a “war crime” which merits “appropriate punishment”.

The strike comes after days of Israeli bombardment inside Lebanon as it seems poised to invade the country.

Israel has wiped out a number of top Hezbollah commanders in airstrikes, but Nasrallah remained outside of Israel’s grasp.

Over the past 11 months, Israel has eliminated nearly all of the terror group’s leadership.

Last Friday was one of the most successful days of Israel’s ploy to take out the terror group with them hitting two kingpins and 14 commanders in strikes.

Destruction of Hezbollah’s HQ comes a day after a ceasefire plan appeared to fall through.

Western nations called for a 21-day ceasefire to end the 11-month conflict between Israel and the terror group to its north.

A statement said: “The situation between Lebanon and Israel since October 8th, 2023 is intolerable and presents an unacceptable risk of a broader regional escalation.

“This is in nobody’s interest, neither of the people of Israel nor of the people of Lebanon.

“It is time to conclude a diplomatic settlement that enables civilians on both sides of the border to return to their homes in safety.

“Diplomacy however cannot succeed amid an escalation of this conflict.”

The ceasefire plan also called for a end to fighting between Israel and Hamas.

But Israel on Thursday rejected the ceasefire plan.
