Dani Dyer begs fans for help as daughter is ‘bleeding’ while struggling with contagious illness

DANI Dyer has asked fans for help after one of her twin daughters contracted a nasty infection that has left her scratching and bleeding.

The former Love Island star is a proud mum to one-year-old twin daughters, Star and Summer, and three-year-old son, Santiago, but has been struggling after they’ve all fallen sick.

However, taking to Instagram today, Dani revealed poor baby Star has got the worst of it after contracting a painful illness.

In the video, the kids can be heard screaming in the background as she talks to her followers from her kitchen counter.

She told her fans: “Star’s got hand, foot and mouth, and you can’t do anything about that, can you?

“I’ve looked and looked, but is there any remedies because she is scratching it so much she is bleeding.”

Explaining she was due a phone call with the doctor to try and get help, she added: “I know they genuinely can’t do anything, and now I’m looking at Summer thinking ‘you’re going to get it.’”

“I just feel like the illnesses are constant,” said the exhausted mum. “A few weeks ago Santiago had impetigo, then chicken pox, then Star got a little impetigo.

“Star is usually the sickly one, if anyone is going to get ill out of the twins it is usually Star. I can’t leave the house!”

Hand, foot and mouth, according to the NHS, is common in young children and usually gets better on its own between seven to ten days.

Symptoms include a sore throat, high temperature and mouth ulcers, as well as a rash on hands and feet.

The illness leaves those suffering from it with a low appetite.

It is not, as is sometimes assumed, related to foot and mouth disease which affects animals.

Dani later took to Instagram again to thank followers for their kind messages, sharing that Star had managed to finally get some sleep, with the hope she would feel slightly better once she woke up.

“In my personal opinion, I feel like hand, foot and mouth is worse than chicken pox,” she added. “Star has cried all morning, she’s had a sleep this afternoon, so I’m hoping she wakes up better, but she’s in so much pain, like her mouth…

“It’s just worse than chicken pox.”

What is Hand, Foot and Mouth?

Hand, food and mouth disease is a common infection.

It causes mouth ulcers and spots on the hands and feet.

Though children aged 10 and under are more likely to catch it, it can affect older children and adults as well.

There is no cure for hand, foot and mouth disease so you have to let it run its course.

The best thing to do is to stay at home until you are feeling better.

To help ease the symptoms you can:

  • Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration – water and milk are ideal
  • Eat soft foods such as mashed potatoes, yogurt and soups if eating and swallowing is uncomfortable. Avoid hot, acidic or spicy foods and drinks.
  • Over-the-counter painkillers, such as paracetamol and ibuprofen can ease a sore throat and fever.
  • Gargling with warm, salty water can relieve discomfort from mouth ulcers or you can use mouth gels, rinses or sprays.

Children should be kept away from nursery or school until they are feeling better. Adults should stay away from work.

Medical attention is not usually needed unless your child is unable or unwilling to drink fluids, has signs of dehydration, develops fits, confusion or weakness, or if the symptoms get worse/have not improved after seven to 10 days.

She added that her mum Jo, is also sick so wasn’t able to come and help her, before sarcastically laughing and adding: “I’m really enjoying myself. If I don’t laugh, I’ll cry.”

Dani is engaged to footballer Jarrod Bowen, with the West Ham star getting down on one knee and proposing in July while on holiday in Spain.

The couple have been together since 2021, and together they share twins Star and Summer.

Santiago was born during Dani’s relationship with former partner, Sammy Kimmence.

Earth to gain second ‘tiny moon’ tomorrow night before wave of incredible meteor showers – how you can watch

AN ASTEROID is expected to be hooked into Earth’s orbit tomorrow night, acting a second ‘tiny moon’ for the next two months.

The space rock, dubbed 2024 PT5, is from the not-so-distant Arjuna asteroid belt.

This family of asteroids can travel quite close to Earth, at a distance of around 2.8 million miles (4.5 million kilometres).

It is part of a near-Earth object population of asteroids and comets that researchers from the Nasa-funded Asteroid Terrestrial-impact Last Alert System monitor.

When travelling relatively close to Earth, some of these asteroids can get stuck in Earth’s orbit, and earn the title of ‘mini moons’.

Unlike the moon, space rock 2024 PT5 will not follow a full orbit around Earth.

Instead, it will orbit the Earth in a horseshoe shape, between September 29 to November 25.

The asteroid will eventually dislodge from orbit and return to a heliocentric orbit, which is an orbit around the sun.

It will then not be visit Earth again until 2055.

What's the difference between an asteroid, meteor and comet?

Here's what you need to know, according to Nasa...

  • Asteroid: An asteroid is a small rocky body that orbits the Sun. Most are found in the asteroid belt (between Mars and Jupiter) but they can be found anywhere (including in a path that can impact Earth)
  • Meteoroid: When two asteroids hit each other, the small chunks that break off are called meteoroids
  • Meteor: If a meteoroid enters the Earth’s atmosphere, it begins to vapourise and then becomes a meteor. On Earth, it’ll look like a streak of light in the sky, because the rock is burning up
  • Meteorite: If a meteoroid doesn’t vapourise completely and survives the trip through Earth’s atmosphere, it can land on the Earth. At that point, it becomes a meteorite
  • Comet: Like asteroids, a comet orbits the Sun. However rather than being made mostly of rock, a comet contains lots of ice and gas, which can result in amazing tails forming behind them (thanks to the ice and dust vaporizing)

Can I see the ‘mini moon’?

Unfortunately, the event will not be visible to the vast majority of skywatchers.

It won’t be caught by the naked eye, binoculars or even with a consumer-grade telescope.

At an absolute magnitude of 22, which is extremely low on the -10 to +20 scale, the ‘mini moon’ will be too dim to see.

It will take professional equipment to lay eyes on the asteroid.

Though several observatories have told The Sun that even professional telescopes will struggle to detect the faint object.

Fortunately, there are other events coming up on the cosmic calendar that you will be able to witness.

Draconid meteor shower

Comet 21 P/Giacobini-Zinner is expected to zoom past Earth next week, where stargazers can see an increase in shooting stars.

The Draconid meteor shower will be active between 6 and 10 October, but will peak around 8 to 9 October.

Unlike other meteor showers that are better caught early in the morning, the Draconid’s are best seen in the evening.

The amount of shooting stars that will be visible is unclear.

The Draconids caused some of the most active displays of the 20th century in 1933 and 1946, but have not been so sprightly in recent years.

But who knows, this year might be different.

Comet C/2023 A3

Comet C/2023 A3, also known as Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, is also expected to reach peak brightness between 27 September and 2 October.

It’s long tail of dust and ice will be illuminated by the sun thanks to its orientation in the inner solar system, meaning it will be more visible to stargazers on Earth.

It’s possible comet A3 may even have two tails, one whiteish and one blueish.

Some astronomers believe it could be as bright as the 20 brightest stars in the night sky.

Ford coupe that had starring role in an iconic Blur video can now be yours for a bargain price

A FABULOUS Ford coupe that once starred in a music video for Blur can be bought for a bargain price.

The first generation Ford Granada, which was produced by the famous car marque from 1972 until 1977, was once a strong seller in the UK and was loved for its space, comfort and driving experience.

But slightly younger petrolheads may recognise the motor from its appearance in the music video for Blur‘s hit single Parklife – released in 1994.

The song’s video sees the band’s lead singer, Damon Albarn, and iconic actor Phil Daniels, who partly sings vocals on the track, drive a bronze-coloured Mk1 Ford Granada Coupe.

In one scene, the Granada pulls up next to an Audi as Daniels makes reference to the German brand’s ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’ slogan, as both cars pull away to reveal ‘Parklife’ written on the tarmac.

Today, the Granada is seldom seen on UK roads, with just 649 models currently in existence with a valid MOT, according to How Rare Is My Car.

The classic motor, which was made available as a four-door saloon, a five-door estate, and a two-door fastback coupe, was a favourite among taxi drivers and the police, while even limousine and hearse versions were made available.

The rare 3.0-litre version, with its meaty V6 engine, was only available to buy in both the UK and South Africa at the time of its release.

However, we found an incredible 1975 example, known as the rare ‘Golden Edition’ that was originally supplied in South Africa, for just £8,500 on the Cars & Classic auction website.

This hard-to-find set of wheels, which is example no. 29, was imported and UK registered in 2018 and has since had many improvements, according to the listing.

These include a new electronic ignition, viper coil and engine service.

The listing confidently added that the car “runs and drives superbly with smooth gearbox and no untoward noises”.

The Granada nameplate ran from 1972 through to 1994, before it was discontinued and replaced by the Ford Scorpio.

This comes as a legendary fast Ford is set to be reborn with an ultra-lightweight bodywork and a famous engine from long-forgotten brand.

The one-off motor will pay a special homage to one of the Blue Oval’s most famous machines – some 40-odd years since it last graced UK showrooms.

Ford also recently revealed they will be releasing their “most powerful production car ever” with a sports car that can produce a shocking 804bhp.

The 5.2-litre supercharged motor is even preparing to take on the the current-gen Porsche 911 GT3 RS with a timed lap around an iconic circuit.

It took five years to build our £175K Grand Designs home… then Kevin McCloud slammed it as painful

A GRAND Designs home that took five years to construct has been slammed as “painful” by Kevin McCloud.

The £175,000 property was snapped up at an auction with renovators of the former East Yorkshire coastguard station planning to complete their design in just 10 months.

Kevin McCloud slammed the grand designs as “painful”[/caption]

However, due to poor planning, the grand design took an astonishing five years to construct and remains unfinished to this day.

The stunning property features panoramic coastal views and floors that seem to levitate off the side of the house.

Despite the significant delay, Zahid and Ferzana, the homeowners, remain optimistic and believe they are finally “on the home stretch”.

However, Kevin McCloud, presenter of Grand Designs, described the build as “painful”.

It took almost four years for the necessary drawing of the building to be completed.

Issues for the property continued with concerns raised regarding the lack of space for the installation of the planned panoramic windows.

The couple also encountered issues with planning permission after demolishing the watchtower, which reclassified the project beyond a simple renovation.

Viewers were left shocked by how badly the build had gone awry after the episode aired on Wednesday.

Grand Designs fans were even more stunned after learning that Zahid himself works in construction.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one viewer wrote: “This is an absolute disaster.

“The bloke hasn’t really got a clue has he considering his job.”

“Not fitting in with the countryside either, although the views are amazing,” commented another.

They added: “Feel for his neighbour looking at a frame for 2 years.”

While a third wrote: “[Absolutely] ridiculous individual; completely out of his depth, clueless, and just an embarrassment for anyone connected to him.”

It wasn’t just viewers who were shocked by the grand design.

Neighbours expressed their relief at seeing the scaffolding finally removed after half a decade.

Despite the concerns, Zahid said he was delighted with the results but admitted that the build was more “complex than [he] originally envisioned.”

It comes after neighbours were furious that a picturesque cottage is being bulldozed and replaced by an “enormous black seabox”.

And fury has erupted at an £11m Grand Designs-style mansion after the owner complained his sea view from the swimming pool was obstructed.

Viewers slammed the judges after they seemed far from impressed[/caption]

Jamie, 30, was first given a perfect score of 40 points from the judges when he won the 2023 Christmas special of the hit BBC show.

This time around it seemed the judges were much harsher with their comments, except for Craig who seemed to enjoy his performance.

On yesterday’s edition of the spin-off, It Takes Two, Fleur East welcomed Jamie and his partner Michelle Tsiakkas into the studio.

During the interview the former X Factor runner-up mentioned how the judges may have been harsh with their scores.

She thought this may have been due to his success in the holiday period when he performed the Quickstep.

The presenter then read out a comment from a viewer named Lizzie who said: “Judges – harsh much.

“Seemed far more critical than anyone else? I thought it was fab!”

Jamie replied: “They were critical. But they were judges, it’s what it’s meant to be.”

However, he then made a swipe at Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke.

The actor implied that he was only really concerned with impressing Craig Revel Horwood.

It could have been his top priority, due to Craig’s reputation as being the harshest critic on the panel.

“Craig liked it!”, he exclaimed. “I’d much rather Craig love it than the other three.”

After his previous performance, Anton and Shirley tried to actually demonstrate how he could improve his posture.

But despite the criticism from the others, Craig seemed to lavish praise on the amateur dancer.

  12. Nick and Luba = 18
  13. Pete and Jowita = 17
  14. Paul and Karen = 17
  15. Toyah and Neil = 12

“Well I think you are terrific actually, I love your energy.”

He added: “It needs a little bit of fluidity, it was a bit sort of jaggered throughout. But that performance I thought was absolutely wonderful.”
