A ROYAL expert has claimed Meghan Markle will be “exposed” if she returns to the UK, which is why Prince Harry is pushing his court case.
Biographer Robert Jobson appeared on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show, and argued that the Duke of Sussex is worried his wife won’t be protected during visits.
Speaking to The Sun’s Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson, Robert claimed: “The fact is, he [Harry] believes that when he brings his wife with him, she will not be afforded the protection that he feels is necessary.”
The royal expert claimed if Harry doesn’t fight the current situation, the royal feels Meghan will be left “exposed” due to them not having adequate protection.
He continued: “The reality is, he doesn’t believe that is what he’s going to get, and that’s why he’s taking the court case.”
Harry lost the right to close protection after stepping back as a working royal.
He also lost a High Court challenge against a ruling it was legal – but is set to appeal.
Robert added: “He [Harry] wants to come back and would want to do more things over here if he could.”
THREE OBSTACLES
The royal expert claims three things stand in the way of that happening: William, Camilla, and having to fund his new lifestyle which includes personal protection.
He continued: “The reality is that was the package he put together before Megxit.
“That’s exactly what he wanted to do, private things that he’s doing making money, plus the things that he wants to do over here.
“Now, the problem you’ve got with Harry is a lot of the whispers in the corridor is that they still worry what happens when the money runs out?
“Well, he made an awful lot of money from his book Spare, so maybe that’s a while away yet.”
A spokesperson said for the royal couple in 2022: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex personally fund a private security team for their family, yet that security cannot replicate the necessary police protection needed whilst in the UK.”
Robert continued: “And also, you still got the two main issues here, Camilla and Prince William, that really have not made up.
“When you’ve got, if you like, his Praetorian guard of William and Camilla, at odds with Harry it’s going to be more difficult for that to happen.”
HARRY’S RECENT SECRET TRIP
The Duke of Sussex most recently visited the UK in August for the funeral of Lord Robert Fellowes, who was his mother Diana’s brother-in-law.
Prince William and Prince Harry reportedly “kept their distance” as they saw each other for the first time since King Charles‘ coronation.
Robert argued that Prince Harry should be having the “full package protection” when he visits the UK for visits.
He continued: “When he came over for the court cases, he didn’t have Scotland Yard protection.

“He had his own protection officer with him, the one he pays for, so there is an issue.
“I think they should be doing the full package of protection.”
The royal biographer argued that if something happened to Harry during his stay, the “fallout” would be huge.
Robert said: “Could you imagine the fallout if something happened to him.
“Having two protection officers with him for a period of three or four days?
“Really, I think most taxpayers would agree he should be protected.”

ROYAL HELPING HAND
Ken Wharfe, who was protection officer to the late Princess Diana from 1987 until 1993, insisted that the Sussexes would be given protection if it was approved by the royal family.
He said: “Harry with his wife or his children, if that was the decision made – and it would have to be with the approval of the King and and the Queen – be rest assured that the British government, in close concentration and with the Metropolitan Police would make sure this would make sure that they would receive together the right protection.”
It was announced in January 2020 that Harry and wife Meghan would be stepping back as working royals, in a decision dubbed ‘Megxit’ by The Sun.
Two months later the pair carried out their last official engagement and moved to California.
Harry is understood to have not seen his father since a brief meeting on February 6 this year, days after Charles was diagnosed with cancer.
In 2022, Neil Basu, the former head of counterterrorism for the Metropolitan Police, said there were genuine threats to the Duchess of Sussex’s life while she lived in Britain.
He said: “We had teams investigating it. People have been prosecuted for those threats.”
A timeline of Prince Harry's family feud
The first hints of friction reportedly came after William was introduced to Meghan when she was staying at Kensington Palace.
Once she’d returned home to Canada, William and Harry sat down for a brother-to-brother chat.
He knew Harry was already head-over-heels for her but it has been claimed he advised him to take it slowly.
The younger prince reportedly didn’t take too kindly to the advice, with one royal source saying he “went mental”.
Then in June 2019 Harry and Meghan officially split off from the charity they shared with William and Kate.
The Royal Foundation will be divided between the Sussexes and Cambridges as the couples focus on their own separate charitable endeavours.
Prince William and Prince Harry first established the Royal Foundation in 2009 before Kate joined two years later shortly after their engagement was announced.
The trio would often appear together at events and the Foundation had huge successes with projects like the Invictus Games for injured veterans and the mental health Heads Together campaign.
The Royal Foundation said the decision was made following the conclusion of a review into its structure – but added both couples will continue to work together in the future.
Harry and Meg were living in close proximity to Kate and Wills within the Kensington Palace estate, but they switched to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before baby Archie was born.
The move further increased rumours of a fallout.
Harry also hinted in his ITV documentary “Harry and Meghan, An African Journey” that he and his brother had grown apart.
In 2021, Harry and Meghan give their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey where Harry accused his dad of cutting him off financially.
Harry then jetted back to UK to join William in unveiling a statue to their mother Princess Diana in the grounds of Kensington Palace. But sources claimed William didn’t want to attend the memorial amid their ongoing rift.
In 2022, just before their grandmother the Queen died, sources claimed Kate acts as a “peacemaker” between the brothers.
Harry claimed his brother “knocked him to the floor” during an argument about Meghan, in his memoir.
In Spare, Harry said William branded Meghan “rude” and “difficult” during a row.
Harry alleged William “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and … knocked me to the floor”.
He said he was left with a visible injury to his back following the argument in 2019 at Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, where he was living at the time.
In January this year, Harry flew in to be with Charles after the monarch’s shock cancer diagnosis.
Harry flew back to the US the following day – without seeing Wills.
In May he visited the UK for a three-day visit without seeing King Charles or Prince William.
