Zim month-on-month inflation 5.8% up
Zimbabwe’s month-on-month inflation rose to 5.8% in September 2024, from 1.4% in August, a condition largely attributed steep depreciation of the newly introduced currency, the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG). Since its inception in the first quarter of 2024, the new currency has faced increasing volatility, compounded by the shortage of US dollars in the market. The […]

Zookeeper mauled to death by lion in front of horrified guests after leaving the gate open at feeding time
A ZOOKEEPER was savagely mauled to death by a lion after he left the gate open while feeding it, as onlookers watched on in horror.
Trained lion handler Babaji Daule,35, was working at the Presidential Library Wildlife Park in Abeokuta, Nigeria, when the grim attack took place.
The zoo said that Babaji was showing customers the lion’s feeding routine late on Saturday when “the lion inflicted serious fatal injuries to the man’s neck”.
Local cop spokesperson Omolola Odutola said: “The zookeeper, apparently, feeling comfortable with the animal, left the safety protection gate open and proceeded to feed the animal.
“He was mauled by the animal and died on the spot.”
He explained that the killer animal was later put down by staff at the park “to prevent further mutilation of the body”, reports BBC News.

The Range launches £6.99 gadget that keeps your home warm without turning the heating on & it’s stylish too
IF you’re reluctant to turn the heating on this Winter, but are worried about how you’ll stay warm, then fear not, you’ve come to the right place.
There’s nothing worse than planning a chilled night on the sofa, only to find yourself shivering because you can’t justify the cost of having the heating blasting.
The Range have launched a £6.99 buy that will keep your home warm this Winter[/caption] Not only this, but it will also add style to your space, without breaking the bank[/caption] The new Hatfield Check Draught Excluder is sure to keep you feeling cosy, without needing to turn the heating on[/caption]But, luckily for you, it turns out you don’t need to put on several jumpers and have a hot water bottle on hand, as there’s a much more efficient way to heat your home this Autumn.
And not only will it make your home feel much toastier in no time at all, but it will also add style to your space too.
Even better, it’s less than £10 – yes, you heard that correctly.
Thanks to a cost-effective gadget from The Range, you won’t have to worry about feeling the cold in your home this season.
One simple way to keep your home warm and cosy is to use a draught excluder – a tool used to block drafts coming in through door or window gaps.
You can find draught excluders in a variety of different high-street shops, but the new Hatfield Check Draught Excluder from The Range is a real winner at just £6.99.
It may come as a surprise, but 30 percent of the heat in a home is lost through gaps not being sealed properly.
As a result, this forces radiators to work harder to keep a room warm.
By reducing heat loss, your radiators will not have to spend extra time or energy to maintain a comfortable temperature and for those looking to ditch their heating all together, this affordable buy will ensure that no nasty gust of breeze leaves you shivering.
Using a draught excluder requires no set-up and is a super cheap way to help prepare your home for the cold nights.
On The Range website, they wrote: “Prevent the heat from escaping your home with this Hatfield Check Draught Excluder. In a traditional check design.
“It adds a rustic feel to your home whilst stopping the cold air from seeping into your room.
“Place by a door or window to keep your home nice and cosy throughout the cooler months.”
5 ways to keep your house warm in winter
Property expert Joshua Houston shared his tips.
1. Curtains
“Windows are a common place for the outside cold to get into your home, this is because of small gaps that can let in air so always close your curtains as soon as it gets dark,” he said.
This simple method gives you an extra layer of warmth as it can provide a kind of “insulation” between your window and curtain.
2. Rugs
“Your floor is another area of your home where heat can be lost and can make your home feel chilly,” he continued. “You might notice on cold days, that your floor is not nice to walk on due to it freezing your feet.
“Add rugs to areas that don’t already have a carpet, this provides a layer of insulation between your bare floor and the room above.”
3. Check your insulation
Check your pipes, loft space, crawlspaces and underneath floorboards.
“Loose-fill insulation is very good for this, and is a more affordable type of insulation, with a big bag being able to be picked up for around £30,” Joshua explained.
4. Keep your internal doors closed
“Household members often gather in one room in the evening, and this is usually either the kitchen or living room,” Joshua said.
“This means you only have to heat a small area of your home, and closing the doors keeps the heat in and the cold out.”
5. Block drafts
Don’t forget to check cat flaps, chimneys and letterboxes, as they can let in cold air if they aren’t secure.
This draught excluder comes in two different colours and not only will it block air trying to enter your home, but it will look lovely too.
If that wasn’t enough, it can also help to reduce noise pollution, which is particularly useful for anyone living in the city.
Furthermore, draught excluders can also help to keep dust, pollen and even small creepy crawlies from entering your home, so you’ll be able to sleep easily too.
So if you’re looking to get ready for Winter, but with barely any effort or faff involved, you’ll need to get down to The Range, and as quickly as you can.

Towie fans gobsmacked as Ella drops her coat to reveal lacy lingerie on Dan’s door step in racy scenes
TOWIE’S Ella-Rae Wise left fans stunned as she stripped to her lingerie at partner Dan Edgar’s door.
The sassy ITVBe star, 24, didn’t hold back as she strolled up the drive to her man’s lavish Essex property in a pair of towering Louboutin heels.

She knocked on the TOWIE star’s door and, as Dan, 33, answered, told him: “I told you I’d make it up to you didn’t I?”
Looking chuffed, he flashed a smile and said: “You did.”
After she untied the robe to flash her black lace bra and thong, the pair shared a snog under a brick arch at the entrance to his home.
He then told her: “Get in you’ll give the neighbours a heart attack.”
The pair then enjoyed a cute movie night and snacks as they tried to re-build their partnership.
One fan was quick to note on X: “Ella is sooooooo hot.”
A second put: “Ella is so into Dan. I really hope he doesn’t mug her off.”
A third then wrote: “They are sooooo cute together.”
Dan and Ella’s relationship shocked the TOWIE cast when it blossomed out in Bali earlier this year.
Yet back in May, she sparked split rumours as she posted a series of cryptic quotes.
In August, the fashion brand founder confirmed Dan had cheated on her as fans issued an urgent warning about her rekindling their relationship.
The Sun revealed how Ella was left furious after finding out Dan had hooked up with Hannah Rally while she was in Dubai.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Ella said that their budding relationship was also poisoned by all the background noise.
She said: “When we got home from Bali and when we’d finished filming, I’d still see him and we were pretty close.”
Now the duo appear to be back on track – with Dan’s pal Diags saying he has become a “better person.”
Meanwhile, Ella previously hinted at a new cast feud after she posted a cryptic quote online.
She then took a swipe at her co-stars as she begged bosses for a spin-off show.
