Five supercars worth £500k ‘STOLEN from airfield in late-night racetrack heist by gang who made NO noise’

FIVE supercars worth over half a million pounds have been stolen from a company offering racetrack driving experiences by a planned “gang heist”.

Disappointed racing fans were turned away from Car Chase Heroes in Norfolk after the luxury motors were taken in a daring raid on Friday night along with the keys to 50 others.

The firm believe the thieves struck between midnight and 4am. The cars stolen were a red Lamborghini Huracan, a white Porsche Cayman, bronze Audi R8, a white and blue Volkswagen golf GTI and a Mercedes AMG GT. Tools and equipment were also stolen.

“I thought it was a practical joke at first,” said one of the company’s professional drivers when he described the moment he arrived at work and realised the cars were stolen.

Racing driver, James, 40, said the instructors all have a sense of humour and so he could not believe the “shocking” and “sad” news that Events Managers, Roy, announced in their usual morning briefing.

He said: “We soon realised the five cars were missing from the line up but they also took all the keys for the rest of the vehicles.

“There’s no spare keys which meant they were difficult to move as we couldn’t start them.

“At 8am we were told and by 8.30 the rest of the week was cancelled.

“They had to send out mass messages but some people even turned up having driven three to four hours to drive their dream cars, even young kids.

“Having to turn them away at the gate, it was pretty sad and of course they were not happy.”

Until now, the company which gives people the chance to pay and ride Lamborghinis and Ferraris, to name a few of high-priced and high-speed cars, had never been the victim of theft.

Car Chase Heroes, which describes itself as the UK’s #1 Driving Experience, runs day events like the one at Tibenham Airfield, just outside of Norwich.

This weekend, the company claimed to be hosting up to 400 people per day, each renting supercars for two hour slots, costing around £50 per vehicle.

The company was forced to send home every car fan who had booked on Saturday, Sunday and Monday because of the missing car keys which were stolen as well.

The freelance driver added: “It was premeditated – they came prepared. There were at least 5 of them that night.

“It was all very bizarre, people would think the keys were kept in a tray but the thieves went straight to the little towing trailer to take the keys and even some tools too.

“It was not opportunistic, it was very clearly a planned heist, they knew very well there was a back entrance and planned it from there.

“I’ve been driving there on and off for two years and I only just learned of this gate so somehow they had the information.”

The driver believed the thieves were part of a “London gang” due to a video on social media he saw showing young men driving two of the stolen cars, the Ferrari and the Mercedes, in the capital.

The group arrived on the site where the 30 supercars were housed in the early hours of Saturday morning, around 4:30, breaking through the property’s back gates.

Company staff were puzzled as to why the four people sleeping in a van and a motorhome on site were not woken up by the sound of the loud cars.

James said: “These cars are not quiet. They’re supercars, so when they start up they’re bloody loud.

“It’s a bit bizarre, but maybe they just got lucky.”

The supercar experience provider, which is based in Llandow, South Wales, went to its Facebook account on Saturday with a plea for any information posting the message with photos of the five stolen vehicles.

The post read: “Sadly 5 of our cars were taken in the Norfolk area last night.

“If anyone has seen or heard anything then please let either us or the Police know.”

The most expensive stolen vehicle was found by local police near Bristol on Sunday evening being transported on a low loader trailer.

James explained that the Hurricane was likely sold on the black market, with the rest of the cars believed to be in Barking or the Isle of Dogs.

Roy Millwood, the events manager for the firm told ITV Anglia: “Nobody likes to have items, cars and valuables stolen but when it’s done right under your nose it’s even more of a sore sport.”

“We’ve got security in the trucks, we had people sleeping in there so they literally slipped right through the net.

“Members of staff are really upset. It’s a very big destruction [sic] to the company itself as well as the poor people scheduled today to come and drive these vehicles, and we do not have them on site so yeah very, very upset.”

Police and forensic crews were at the site as an investigation has been launched.

A spokesperson for Norfolk Police said: “Police received a report of theft on 28 September 2024. The incident happened between midnight and 4am on Saturday when five supercars were stolen from Tibenham Airfield.

“Officers are conducting a number of enquiries and would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may be able to assist the investigation.

“Anyone with any information is asked to get in touch via the following channels quoting crime reference 36/69420/24.”

The Sun has approached Car Chase Heroes for comment.

Tiktok is a common place where online game challenges begin and end up going viral, but they’re not always safe and innocent game like this one
GETTY

Other TikTok challenges that have gone viral are, the “Just Give Me My Money” trend.

This is a prank where participants say the phrase “just give me my money” in a funny voice and then cheer and applaud, except for one person, who is left out intentionally.

Then there’s the “Who want smoke” challenge that led to school officials to issue warnings over due to the claims that the challenge promoted gun violence.

The hear me out challenge is innocent fun, however some TikTok challenges have been called out for causing potential harm to participating children.

Former Man Utd wonderkid Ravel Morrison’s career plummets to new low as he makes very rogue free transfer

FORMER Manchester United wonderkid Ravel Morrison has signed for his 14th career club – this time heading to Dubai.

Morrison was considered one for the future after coming through United’s academy alongside the likes of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard.

Ravel Morrison has signed for Precision FC in Dubai’s second division

But his career has continued to plummet and has now landed in the UAE with Precision FC – in Dubai’s second division.

A statement read: “We are beyond excited to welcome the incredible Ravel Morrison to Precision FC!

“This is more than a signing – it’s a statement, a game-changer for both our club and football in the UAE.

“Known for his electrifying talent and skill, Ravel brings world-class experience and flair that will help our team to achieve it’s goals.

“This is the start of something extraordinary. Welcome to the family, Ravel!”

Morrison only ever made three senior appearances for United before being sold to West Ham in 2012.

During his three years signed to the Hammers, he was also loaned out to Birmingham, QPR and Cardiff before joining Lazio in Italy.

Morrison spent four years signed to the Italians, but spent a year from 2018-2019 on loan in Mexico with Atlas.

He then joined Ostersund in Sweden before moving back to England with Sheffield United in 2020.

But the midfielder was only back in England for a year, which included a loan to Middlesbrough, before going to ADO Den Haag in Netherlands.

Morrison’s last transfer to England came in 2021 when he spent a season with Derby before a switch to America with DC United.

The 31-year-old was later released by the MLS side and makes his return to football with Precision – who got promoted to Dubai’s second division last season.

Morrison joins the likes of Max Johnstone, Matt Lowton and Jamie Ward in the squad.

‘Do they know the law’ slams former Prem ref as he says VAR got Bruno Fernandes red card WRONG in Man Utd defeat

FORMER Premier League referee Mark Halsey claims Bruno Fernandes was incorrectly sent off during Manchester United’s clash with Tottenham on Sunday.

Fernandes saw red in the 42nd minute of the match following a challenge on James Maddison.

The midfielder caught James Maddison’s shin with his boot after slipping

While lunging in for a tackle, the 30-year-old slipped and caught the side of Maddison’s shin with his boot.

Referee Chris Kavanagh immediately brandished the red card, leaving both Fernandes and manager Erik ten Hag baffled.

VAR agreed with the on-field decision to confirm the United captain’s dismissal just a few moments before half-time.

However, ex-Prem ref Halsey believes a review should have been recommended instead.

He told SunSport: “It was a tough one for Chris Kavanagh because in real time it did look like a poor challenge.

“So we cannot be critical of Chris in that situation. When I saw the challenge again, I thought straight away – it’s not a red card.

“If we look at the law for serious foul play, a tackle or challenge that endangers an opponent with excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play.

“Whether the challenge is a lunge from the front, the side, the back, it must be sanctioned as a red card.

FOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALS

“Now that, for me, that challenge didn’t meet the criteria of serious foul play.

“What you can be critical of is VAR because when you look at it again and you see it again, it’s not.

“The challenge doesn’t meet the criteria. Yes, he slips and it’s the back of his heel that goes down the side of his shin pad. But for me, when VAR look at that and they confirm the decision, I’m looking at that and thinking, do they know the law?

“So in my opinion, I think it was a wrongful dismissal. Had VAR afforded Chris Kavanagh another look, so recommended a review, then I’m sure that Chris would have changed his mind and Bruno Fernandes would not have been sent off from the field of play.

“So I believe that Manchester United have got a strong case for an appeal and they should do that.”

Halsey went on to criticise PGMOL chief Howard Webb for his poor handling of some decisions so far this season.

He continued: “They look at red cards and you can upgrade them from a yellow to red. You can downgrade a red to a yellow now. That’s what should have happened here.

“So again, Howard Webb has got to look at his training education.

“Another thing that really annoys me is the nonsense that comes out from the matchday centre.

“Regarding the challenge, they need someone there that actually knows the law. The law is clear on serious foul play and that was not serious foul play that endangered the player’s safety with excessive force or brutality.

“So for me, VAR should have looked at that and recommended a review. And, as I say, once Chris had gone and looked at it, and had a review got recommended, then he would have changed decision.

“There are so many inconsistencies, Howard has got to sort this out.”

Man Utd went on to lose 3-0 to Tottenham at Old Trafford, leaving them 12th in the Premier League table.

Fernandes himself also insisted he should not have been sent off.

He said: “Even James Maddison when he gets up he said it’s not a red card. If this is a red card we have to look at many other incidents.

“I don’t understand why VAR doesn’t call him [referee] to the screen.

“The red card makes it worse. I have to appreciate all the effort my team-mates have done to try and return to the game but it wasn’t possible. They showed great effort and character and I was happy for that.”

Man Utd ratings vs Tottenham

MANCHESTER UNITED suffered a 3-0 thrashing against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off in the first half for fouling James Maddison, forcing Erik Ten Hag’s side to play with 10 men against Ange Postecoglou’s team.

After back-to-back draws against Crystal Palace and FC Twente fans hoped United would redeem themselves against Spurs.

However, the match at Old Trafford quickly turned sour. Brennan Johnson scored early and things worsened when Fernandes was sent off allowing Spurs to extend their lead to 3-0.

And here is how SunSports Charlie Wyett rated the Manchester United stars.

Andre Onana – 5

Stood his ground to deliver a good save from Timo Werner who was clean through – no chance for either goal.

Noussair Mazraoui – 5

First in the refs’ book for chopping down Destiny Udogie. Could also have blocked Micky van de Ven for the goal. Just watched Solanke make it 3-0.

Matthijs de Ligt – 4

Shocking first half. Failed to cut out the cross from Micky van de Ven which led to the first goal.

Lisandro Martinez – 5

Switched off for the Spurs goal and was drawn to the ball and Johnson was left unmarked.

Diogo Dalot – 5

Gave the ball away in dangerous areas and struggled against Johnson.

Manuel Ugarte – 5

Suffered a stinker and was lucky to last until the 73rd minute.

Kobbie Mainoo – 5

Not one of his better performances and was taken off just before half-time following Fernandes’ sending-off.

Marcus Rashford – 5

Over-ran the ball for Tottenham’s first. Way off the pace.

Bruno Fernandes – 4

Arguably the worst captain in United’s history. Deserved red card for his challenge on James Maddison.

Alejandro Garnacho – 6

Had United’s only chance in the first half but hit the outside of the post. Improved in the second half.

Joshua Zirkzee – 5

Looked completely lost up front – threatening to be another poor Erik ten Hag signing. Replaced at half-time.

Subs:

Mount (for Mainoo 45)  5, Casemiro (for Zirkzee 46) 7, Hojlund (for Rashford 73) 5, Eriksen (for Ugarte 73) 5.

Eddie Howe defends decision to play Newcastle star with broken toe despite him set to be sidelined for further two games

EDDIE HOWE defended the decision to play Alexander Isak with a broken toe – despite the star set to miss at least two more Newcastle matches.

The Swedish striker came off after suffering the injury at Wolves a fortnight ago but then led the line against Fulham the following weekend after a painkilling injection.

Howe revealed afterwards that the 25-year-old started to feel discomfort towards the end of that 3-1 defeat and it subsequently ruled him out of Saturday’s draw with Man City.

The Newcastle boss confirmed there was zero possibility of Isak playing tomorrow against Wimbledon in the Carabao Cup at St. James’ Park.

And he also looks almost certain to miss the trip to Everton on Saturday as well as potentially his country’s Nation League games with Slovakia and Estonia.

When asked directly whether Isak playing at Fulham had aggravated the toe problem, Howe said: “I don’t think that would be the case. It was one of those situations where, if he could tolerate the pain, he would be fine.

“He tolerated the pain for about 80 minutes before he became aware of any feeling back in that toe.

“It was either he’d be out until probably after the international break initially, or he could carry on playing as normal if he could tolerate the feelings and the effects of the injury. He hasn’t been able to do that, so we’re back to the original diagnosis, I think.”

Asked whether that meant that Isak would not be back until after the international break, Howe said: “Possibly, yes.

“We’ve not ruled him out (of Everton). We’re sort of assessing him on a daily basis, because there is a chance he could be fit for Everton if everything falls into place.

FOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALS

“Of course, then we have a decision to make. Does he play in that game, or do we leave him knowing that he’ll be OK two weeks afterwards?”

Despite Anthony Gordon, who has agreed a new six-year deal with Newcastle, starring and scoring against City, £10m summer signing William Osula seems certain to start against the Dons.

The Danish U21 ace’s only taste of action was as a late substitute at Craven Cottage but Howe is happy to remain patient in helping the ex-Sheffield United ace fulfil his potential.

He said: “With Will, we were well aware that we’d have to go to work as coaches and Will would have to go to work as the player to develop himself, to improve every area of his game to become a Premier League striker.

“We feel he has the attributes to do that.  He’s very, very quick, physically excellent. He’s a tall, imposing character and his best asset is running in behind and stretching the line for us. He has some things to smoothen out in his game.

“We’ve seen already, certainly from the battles he’s had against our centre-halves in training, he has an ability to score goals and have a physical impact in the game, to make it uncomfortable for defenders.

“We are working hard with him and he’s working hard. His attitude has been excellent.

“He comes in with a big smile on his face every day. His career and his game is going in the right direction.”

Meanwhile, Howe will also make late calls over whether to pick Kieran Trippier and Sandro Tonali after both players were forced off in the second half two days ago.

I visited Oktoberfest with both Brits and Germans – how to avoid the tourist mistakes and drink better

THE smell of freshly cooked sausages wafts through the air, while the sound of a booming Oompah band drowns out the raucous laughter.

I have a very large beer tankard in both hands, which means I can only be in one place – Munich‘s Oktoberfest.

HOPE BROTHERTON
I’ve been lucky enough to visit Oktoberfest twice[/caption]

The festival was first held in Munich in the early 1800s to celebrate the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria.

While it’s grown in size over the years, the Oktoberfest is still very much a celebration – and one I’ve been lucky enough to be part of twice in my life.

This year, I headed to the festival with a large group of friends – both British and German – and on another trip I sat on a table with festival-goers from America and South Africa.

Nationalities can easily mix at the festival simply because everyone is there with the same aim – to have a good, old-fashioned knees up.

From families with small children enjoying the fairground rides to the heaviest of drinkers, Oktoberfest always has an exciting and good-natured atmosphere.

That being said, foreign visitors – like us Brits – could still learn a thing or two from the locals.

Here are 11 tips for visiting Oktoberfest that I’ve learned from the Germans…

1. Make sure to plan well ahead, because flights and accommodation can get very expensive in the German city, especially if you leave it to the last minute.

2. If you’re planning on dressing in the traditional garb, I would recommend buying something in the UK.

I bought my Dirndl from Amazon for £20, knowing I wouldn’t be too upset if it got dosed in beer, which it did.

Prices for cheap polyester Lederhosen and Dirndl can cost upwards of €80 (£66.50), with many places selling them for around €200 (£167).

Just don’t expect to look like a local because many will spend hundreds on their outfits, knowing they will last them a lifetime.

3. Those holidaymakers heading to the festival in a large group should aim to book a table inside one of the tents.

There are 38 tents at Oktoberfest, meaning there’s somewhere for everyone from huge party tents like Hofbrau to child-friendly spots like Augustiner-Festhalle.

When deciding on where to head, it’s worth taking note of the beer that’s being served as each tent generally only serves one type, and if you’re planing on being particularly raucous, you might feel more comfortable in one of the adults-only tents.

Reserving a table is actually pretty tricky, with tents often prioritising locals and festival-goers who’ve been before.

If it’s your first time visiting, I’d recommend reserving a table at Schottenhamel Festhalle because their tables can be booked online.

4. Reservations are made in exchange for food and drink vouchers, which can be used in the tent on the day of your booking.

However, these vouchers will need to be posted to the UK, which can cost an eye-watering €60 (£50) in postage fees, so make sure to factor that into your budget.

5. In Munich cash is still king, so make sure to have enough money to cover your purchases inside the tent.

While cash points are dotted around the festival site, you might not be allowed to re-enter a tent if you decide to leave so be sure to have enough cash.

The sprawling site is also home to rides and rollercoasters[/caption]

6. Make sure to have plenty of extra cash for tips too, because the more you tip the better service you’re likely to have during your stay.

One Maß (a 1-litre tankard) of beer costs around €15 (£12.32), but we paid just under €20 (£16.70) per Maß once tips were included – which may seem like a lot but we were treated very well by our servers.

7. Beer served in the tent (Festbier) has been brewed specially for the festival and are generally stronger than your typical versions.

For instance, a lager was 6%, which gets you drunk considerably quicker when you’re drinking by the litre.

8. Entry to the festival is free and there is plenty to do away from the beer halls, so give yourself plenty of time to visit the attractions and food stalls.

The entire site is very family-friendly, with school trips taking place during the day and families making the most of the fairground rides, face painting and puppet theatre.

One of the rides that shouldn’t be missed is Munich Looping – the world’s largest transportable rollercoaster.

9. Only small handbags and bum bags are allowed into the grounds of the festival.

Each bag is searched by security, who throw away any food or drink for safety reasons.

10. While the tents are inside, check the weather forecast and bring a brolly or a Cagoule – it’s an autumn festival and you wouldn’t want to come away with a cold on top of an atrocious hangover.

11. Despite its name, the Munich festival actually runs for two weeks in September and one week in October.

This year’s festival will run until Sunday October 6, with dates for next year’s festivities already being announced.

Five German beer halls to visit in the UK

THERE are plenty of beer halls to visit in the UK, with pubs serving traditional German grub dotted across the country.

Stein’s, Richmond & Kingston
These beer gardens in London serve authentic German dishes and a variety of German beers, making them perfect spots for an Oktoberfest celebration.

The Bierkeller, Manchester
Located in The Printworks, this pub offers an extensive range of German beers, live Oompah bands and a festive atmosphere.

Albert’s Schloss, Manchester
This Bavarian-themed bar and restaurant is known for its lively vibe, with live music, a wide selection of German beers, and traditional Bavarian food.

The Bavarian Beerhouse, Bristol
Similar to its London counterparts, this pub provides a great selection of German beers and traditional Bavarian fare, making it an ideal spot for Oktoberfest celebrations.

The Bierkeller, Leeds
Situated in the heart of the city, this venue offers a wide range of German beers, live entertainment, and a festive atmosphere that’s perfect for Oktoberfest.

Meanwhile, this European city break has 180-year-old beer gardens, cheap football and amazing street food.

And a new high-speed train service is soon set to link Berlin and Paris.
