Who are Lynette and Chris Dawson’s daughters Shanelle and Sherryn? All about Twisted Twin’s kids

CHRIS Dawson murdered his wife Lynette in 1982, leaving his two daughters Shanelle and Sherryn without a mother.

His crime, and the fact that he groomed and married his daughter’s babysitter, are detailed in ITV’s Twisted Twins series. Here’s everything you need to know.

Shanelle Dawson

Shanelle was just four years old when her mother, Lynette, disappeared

Lynette, known to loved ones as Lyn, was only reported missing by her rugby league footballer husband six weeks after her disappearance.

However, only two days after Lyn disappeared, the family’s teenage babysitter Joanne Curtis was moved into the house by Chris.

A year later, Chris filed for divorce from his missing wife and claimed that she had joined a religious commune.

In 1984, two years after Lyn’s disappearance, Joanne and Chris tied the knot.

Shanelle shared in her book My Mother’s Eyes that this was a very difficult period in her life.

She wrote that she felt “unloved” by Joanne, who Shanelle believed “didn’t want to be my mother”.

Chris was arrested for Lyn’s murder in December 2018, after an investigative podcast named The Teacher’s Pet created a renewed interest in the case.

He was found guilty of the crime in December 2022 and sentenced to 24 years in jail.

Chris was also found guilty of “carnal knowledge” with one of his pupils.

Sherryn Dawson

Sherryn was only two years old when her mother was killed.

However, unlike her sister Shanelle, Sherryn has stayed by her father’s side despite his conviction for the murder.

Since speaking out, Shanelle feels that she was cut out by Sherryn and the rest of the family.

She told Australian Women’s Weekly: “’I feel like I’m the scapegoat.

“’Why am I the one being cut out? I didn’t do anything wrong. But there is also a real freedom in it that I can embrace.”

However, Shanelle shared that she understands why Sherryn feels loyal to their father

She said that her sister “believes in the goodness of my dad.”

Shanelle continued: “People think it’s really obvious but if you know my dad, it’s not that obvious,”

“In his slight defense, not that I need to defend him, he did try to prevent her from being so nasty to us and they would argue about it.”

The “her” being referenced is Joanne, whom Shanelle only refers to as J.

Conor McGregor closing in on fight deal to make ‘more money than anywhere else in the world’ when UFC contract is up

CONOR MCGREGOR has seemingly already committed his fighting future to another promotion once his UFC career comes to an end.

The Notorious has two fights left on his current deal with mixed martial arts‘ top promotion and is champing at the bit to get to the “promised land” of free agency.

McGregor has already told Dave Feldman he wants to fighting in BKFC[/caption]

McGregor, 36, won’t be short of offers if he does see out his contract with the UFC – which could pave the way to a return to the boxing ring.

But the Irishman has seemingly already made plans to fight in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, which he is a part owner of.

BKFC President Dave Feldman told MMA Fighting: “Unless he’s the best salesman in the world, the talks that we’ve had it’s like ‘I’m fighting here.’

“I’m like, yeah, OK. He [said], ‘I’m fighting here.'”

McGregor has publicly flirted with the prospect of fighting in the BKFC ring since acquiring shares in the promotion in April.

And Feldman believes The Notorious is dead serious about testing himself in the brutal and bloody world of bare-knuckle boxing.

“I go, ‘Why wouldn’t you fight here?’ Feldman said he asked McGregor. “Because you have equity in the company.

“And if you fight here, you’ll probably make more money than anywhere else in the world because of what it’s going to do for the company.

Inside McGregor's Notorious lifestyle

With more sides to his personality than an Octagon, Conor McGregor's rise has been an enthralling watch.

Going from UFC icon to entrepreneur and Hollywood star, the Irishman has transcended the sport he helped bring to the masses.

He has four children with fiancee Dee Devlin and the family enjoy a lavish lifestyle.

McGregor has not fought in UFC since breaking his leg in a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in 2021.

That has not stopped him amassing a net worth of over £150m thanks to his Proper No Twelve whiskey and fashion line.

And he is due to return to the Octagon at UFC 303 in an eagerly-awaited headline clash with Michael Chandler.

McGregor also starred alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the Amazon Prime remake of classic movie Road House, although he is dreading his mum seeing one X-rated scene.

Notorious turned up to the premiere in a £60,000 suit that was outdone by his £460k watch.

The only thing sharper than his fashion sense is his tongue and the Dubliner has several bitter spats under his belt, including with UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.

That row led to one of his biggest controversies in 2018 as he travelled 3,000 miles to confront Khabib in a vicious attack on his bus.

He pleaded guilty to assault after punching a man in a pub in 2018 and had his £150k Bentley seized by police for driving offences four years later.

Joe Rogan lashed out at McGregor in a four-letter outburst and the Irishman has also fired shots at Jake Paul, KSI and Tommy Fury.

Boxing great Floyd Mayweather also has McGregor on his enemy list after the pair clashed in a cross-sport bout in 2017.

“So I truly believe what you said — I think 100 per cent he fights here.”

Before McGregor can think about fighting elsewhere, he must first see off the last two fights on his contract with the UFC.

The penultimate fight of the deal the former two-division champion inked in September 2018 was supposed to take place in June.

But a broken left pinky toe forced McGregor to withdraw from his long-overdue showdown with fellow fan favourite Michael Chandler.

Mystic Mac was locked in talks over a bumper new deal with MMA’s to promotion prior to the cancellation of his comeback clash with Chandler.

But in an exclusive interview with SunSport, the former feather and lightweight king revealed that they’ve ground to a screeching halt.

“You know, the fight never happened,” he said when asked how negotiations were going. “So it’s just about getting the fight on.”

McGregor hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since snapping his left leg in his trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.

I told my 7-year-old daughter to name her school uniform but she took me VERY literally – I’ve learned my lesson now

A MUM was forced to crack open the stain remover when her daughter took her request to name her uniform a bit too literally.

Sallay explained that she’d asked her seven-year-old to take on the arduous task of putting her name on all of her school uniform.

She was either going to have to try and get the pen out, or buy a whole loads of new shirts[/caption]

But instead of using name labels or a stamp, Zabella decided to take a pen to her newly-ironed shirts, and wrote her name on the outside of the collars on the white shirts.

“See what my daughter did to her new school uniform?” Sallay wrote over the top of her TikTok video.

Sallay also admitted she’d have to shell out for another load of shirts for her daughter.

Or alternatively she could try and get the pen – a permanent clothes marker – out.

People were left in hysterics by the TikTok, with one writing: “In her defense, you told her to put her name on the uniform, never specified where!”

“Lesson learnt,” Sallay replied.

“When mum says to put your name on your stuff so u don’t lose it loooool” another added.

“Instructions well followed,” Sallay sighed.

“I mean credit where credit is due. At least it won’t get lost at school!” a third pointed out.

“One thing I have learned be specific very specific with children, I feel your pain!” someone else said.

“I learnt the hard way,” Sallay replied.

“I mean it’s not gonna get lost or stolen,” another laughed.

“This is a story to retell in many years it made me laugh.”

“A+ for effort,” someone else said.

“I can’t stop laughing!” another admitted, “but I guess you want to cry?”

“I cried!” Sallay replied.

EXTRA HELP WITH SCHOOL UNIFORM COSTS

IF you can't get targeted help from your council, you might have some other options available to you.

In some areas, you can talk directly to your school, which might be able to offer you clothing.

Or, you might be able to get cheap garments from low-budget shops or charity stores.

Some charities offer help to families in need too.

But bear in mind charities often have a limited amount of money to give and usually have specific criteria which must be met in order to get a grant.

Charity Turn2Us has a free grants search tool on its website which you can use to find out what help is available to you.

Meanwhile, you can always try approaching your nearest Citizens’ Advice branch.

If you don’t know where your nearest Citizens’ Advice branch is, you can find out by visiting www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/nearby/.

If you’re not eligible for a school uniform grant you might be able to get help through the Household Support Fund.

And when someone else said she’d obviously asked her to put her name on the collar, she hit back: “Inside not outside, as we do yearly!”

But others insisted the uniform could be something of a fashion statement instead.

“Sorry mum, but not gonna lie – it looks so cool,” one wrote.

“She’s gonna be a fashion icon!”

“Hope she loves her custom uniform,” another laughed.

As someone else added: “She customised her shirts, very creative babe!”

And this week, the popular supermarket chain is sending shoppers wild with a new £1.99 addition to their skincare and beauty line range.

Shoppers are in a frenzy over Lidl’s dupes of Lush shower gels[/caption]

The budget supermarket has launched its own Lush-inspired Deluxe shower gel collection.

The 500ml bottles bear a striking resemblace to the iconic Lush products and come in a range of scents.

Dizzy Rose is a dupe of Lush favourite Rose Jam, while Mintilicious tingle is very similar to Dirty.

Meanwhile, shoppers who love Lush’s Sleepy scent can try Lidl’s Relax shower gel instead.

And the supermarket’s Honey I’m Home scent is thought to be an imitation of the original Honey I Washed the Kids.

In Lush, 520g bottles of the shower gels will cost you £26. This means that the Lidl versions work out at £24.01 cheaper.

Spotting them in store, bargain hunter Laura said: “My partner found what clearly look like Lush dupes in Lidl today. £1.99 each and they’re 500ml!

“They were in the usual toiletries aisle with the shower gels “

Her post on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a private Facebook group with 2.5 million members, has sparked a frenzy with almost 500 comments and 1,000 likes.

And shoppers are desperate to get their hands on the exciting new range.

“Love us a lush doooooop”, gushed one.

A second wrote: “What a bargain.”

A third insisted: “Need them all.

“Wtf got to try these”, echoed a fourth.

A fifth claimed: “The packaging looks exactly like Lush.”

Meanwhile, a sixth added: “Omg!!! If I see any I’ll pick us some up!!!”

And this isn’t the only dupe the budget supermarket is currently offering for a fraction of the price.

Lidl has introduced a new diffuser just in time for the cosy season, offering an affordable alternative to a popular TikTok product.

As the first arctic chill of autumn sweeps through the UK, many are preparing for a winter filled with movie nights, warm blankets, and hot drinks.

Lidl’s latest offering, the Silvercrest Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Diffuser, is the perfect addition to enhance your cosy season routine.

This diffuser is an excellent dupe for the viral Rituals Perfume Genie on TikTok, but at a fraction of the cost.

While the Rituals Perfume Genie, a favourite among beauty and wellness enthusiasts, retails at a steep £114.90 and has garnered 17.7 million views on social media, Lidl’s version is priced at an accessible £12.99. Even better, Lidl Plus app users can snag it for just £9.99.

For wellness aficionados looking to save money while indulging in relaxation, this budget-friendly diffuser is a must-have.

It releases aromatic oils with a soothing lavender scent, making it the ultimate tool for unwinding and de-stressing during the autumn months.
