‘He is sensational’ – Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe tip and 1-2-3 prediction for Europe’s richest race

THIS year’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe looks like being one of the most open renewals in years.

But I don’t think that’s quite right because I am of the opinion there is one horse head and shoulders above the rest.

His price drifting after his most recent run, where he was third in the Group 2 Qatar Prix Niel, was a gift to punters.

Sosie, who won that race, was understandably punted into favourite for the Arc on the back of it.

But markets don’t always get it right and I think that was just a reaction to the favourite being beaten – it made sense.

Let’s dig a little deeper, though.

Look De Vega’s trainer has made no bones about the fact the horse was not an optimum fitness for his most recent run.

He was forced to make his own running on his first time over 1m4f and looked cooked for the final 300m, giving up the lead.

But I’m not convinced jockey Ronan Thomas was giving his absolute all in the saddle.

Having been off for 105 days this was, let’s be honest, a freshener.

Sosie had won a Group 1 since being a well-beaten third to Look De Vega in the Prix du Jockey Club and was coming back more match-fit after 64 days off.

I didn’t see anything to suggest Look De Vega won’t stay 1m4f in his latest run.

I just can’t see how a horse who won the Prix du Jockey Club eased down but going away over 1m2f will struggle going another 400m.

I think for the second year in a row we’ll see the Prix du Jockey Club winner back up in the Arc itself.

Rey Mysterio shockingly UNMASKED live on TV as WWE fans says Xavier Woods ‘committed a crime’

But he used it to his advantage as he pinned Rey Mysterio seconds later

Rey Mysterio had the upper hand as he placed Woods in a headlock, but the fight was turned on its head.

Woods responded with a counter and tried to pull Rey towards the canvas, but slipped off his mask instead.

Rey Mysterio quickly covered his face to prevent fans from catching a glimpse of what he looked like.

That meant his defences were down which allowed Woods to seize initiative, despite being stunned himself.

He looked at the mask in his hands with a shocked look on his face before throwing it away to complete the job.

Woods rolled his opponent and then pinned him in one swift motion, giving him a shock WWE victory.

Fans were not too happy with the manner of the win and some slammed Woods.

One fan said: “Xavier Woods just committed a crime!”

Hope for Jack O’Sullivan’s mum as phone records from missing mobile could unlock key to solving mystery disappearance

THE family of missing Jack O’Sullivan are hoping his phone records could help solve the mystery of his disappearance.

Jack, 23, vanished without a trace after a house party in Bristol on March 2.

His mum Catherine O’Sullivan believes her son is still alive and has been battling with the police to get his phone records released.

Operator EE has now been in touch with the family and it is hoped a breakthrough could be reached soon.

Jack’s loved ones said: “We are confident that EE are treating this with both the respect and urgency that we need and while we don’t have an outcome yet, they are doing all the right things.”

The student had called his mum after he left the house party but she has been unable to get his phone records – despite it being her account.

His phone pinged at an address in the Granby Hill area at 5.40am and remained active for a further hour and four minutes.

Catherine had originally gone to Avon and somerset Police to request the information but was turned down due to data protection laws.

Officers also said the information had not taken the investigation any further in terms of being able to locate Jack.

The family then took their fight to EE as they believe police could have missed something.

Catherine has previously told how she has lost confidence in the police and believes they “fixated” on a theory that Jack fell in a river.

She has also claimed officers missed vital CCTV clues – including a sighting of Jack.

The mum added: “I wanted to see CCTV footage and was given some to review myself at home. I found Jack walking along the top of a bridge that had been completely missed by the police.

“For us the fact it was missed was a huge mistake and so detrimental. It was over three months and the search lost such vital signs and opportunities to secure more CCTV.

“It was then I started to doubt what I had been told.

“We are also still trying to pursue phone data so we can see ourselves. After the mess with the CCTV we can not leave anything to chance and want to make sure everything is looked at properly.

“We are having to get a court order to get our hands on it and it is taking a while.

“We will just keep going and look into every possible sighting. We know police aren’t taking a lot of them seriously so we have to follow up ourselves.”

Jack had messaged his mum at 1.52am to tell her he was fine and was going to get a taxi home.

He then left the house party just before 3am – with his last confirmed sighting 13 minutes later at the junction of Brunel Lock Way and Brunel Way.

When Catherine woke up at 5am, she realised Jack was not at home and raised the alarm.

She and Jack’s dad have lodged a formal complaint against Avon and Somerset Police over its handling of his disappearance.

Jack's final movements before vanishing

These were Jack O’Sullivan’s movements on the night of March 1-2.

  • 6pm – Jack leaves his flat in the village of Flax Bourton to meet his friends.
  • 8.20pm – Jack travels by bus to a Wetherspoons in Bristol city centre.
  • 10.45pm – Jack texts Catherine saying he has gone to a house party in Hotwells and his keys are safe.
  • 1.52am – Jack texts Catherine saying he is fine and will get a cab home.
  • Just before 3am – Jack leaves the house party.
  • 3.13am – last confirmed sighting of Jack walking onto a grassy area at the junction of Brunel Lock Way and Brunel Way.
  • 3.24am – Jack tries to call a friend who was still at the party.
  • 3.25am – possible sighting of Jack heading towards Bristol city centre.
  • 3.34am – Jack’s friend tries to call him back but he only says ‘Hello’ before breaking up.
  • 3.38am – Footage shows a person who could be Jack walking along the Bennett Way slip road
  • 6.44am – Jack’s phone still active on Find My Friends

The force says that since his disappearance, more than 20 different teams and departments have been involved in the investigation.

There has also been more than 100 hours of CCTV reviewed, 200 hours of searches on the river, 40 land searches and 16 drone deployments.

The force has received almost 100 calls from the public with possible sightings.

Assistant Chief Constable Joanne Hall said: “We have taken time to carefully consider the data request to see if there was any way we could agree to it in order for Jack’s family to get the answers they deserve following his disappearance.

“However, on this occasion, we are restricted by law and have been unable to identify a clear legal basis which would allow for the disclosure to take place.”

An EE spokesperson said: “We’re aware of Jack’s case. This is a police matter so we currently can’t comment any further at this time.”

My ‘flowers’ tip makes fresh herbs last for a month and saves you cash – they won’t go slimy or dry, it works every time

A FOODIE has shared her simple trick that makes fresh herbs last for up to a month.

So if you’re on a budget and are fed up with buying herbs, only for them to go slimy within just a few days, then you’ve come to the right place.

With Kathleen Ashmore’s trick, your herbs won’t go slimy or dry and it’ll save you loads of cash

Thanks to Kathleen Ashmore, a chef and recipe developer from the US, who recently shared how to keep cucumbers crunchy for weeks, you’ll never have to worry about your herbs drying out, as with her ‘flowers’ hack, your herbs will stay fresh for weeks.

And according to the food enthusiast, it will save you loads of cash as it works every time.

Kathleen took to social media to share her ‘food storage hack’ which she claimed ‘works best with leafy herbs’.

She revealed how to make fresh herbs “last for up to a month”, as she explained: “This is gonna save you a lot of money – fresh herbs need enough oxygen so that the moisture won’t get trapped and they won’t get all slimy, but they don’t need so much oxygen that they will get dry and go bad on you, so here’s how we create a really quick, perfect environment.”

As a result, she advised: “We’re gonna basically treat them like flowers – so take a pair of kitchen scissors and just cut off the bottoms, so that you’ve got a brand new bottom to soak up a lot of water.

“Then I just rinse them and I’m gonna pat them dry gently with a clean kitchen towel.

“Then fill up a jar or glass with a few inches of water and you’re gonna put the stems right in there.”

Kathleen explained that you’ll then need a plastic bag – you can use any plastic bag, including the bag that the herbs came in.

Then, when you’ve got your bag, you simply place it over the top of the jar, and put a rubber band around it to secure it in place.

Following this, she recommended: “Pop it in your fridge and change the water whenever it starts to get really brown. It works every time.”

The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @katcancook, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly racked up 70,000 views.

Social media users were thankful for Kathleen’s handy trick, and many flocked to the comments to express this.

I will definitely try it

One person said: “Yes! I saw your post about this a few months ago, I tried it with green onion and cilantro and I was mind blown.

“This is not an exaggeration that my green onion lasted over two weeks.”

Hacks for Keeping Food Fresh in Your Fridge

IF you want your food to stay fresh, you'll need to try out this useful hacks...

  1. Herbs in Water: Store fresh herbs like parsley and coriander in a glass of water, then cover with a plastic bag to keep them fresh for weeks.
  2. Wrap Greens in Paper Towels: Wrap leafy greens in paper towels before placing them in a plastic bag. The towels absorb excess moisture, preventing wilting.
  3. Use Mason Jars: Store salads, chopped vegetables, and even leftovers in mason jars. They are airtight and keep food fresher for longer.
  4. Revive Stale Bread: Sprinkle a bit of water on stale bread and pop it in the oven for a few minutes to make it fresh again.
  5. Baking Soda for Odours: Place an open box of baking soda in your fridge to absorb odours and keep food tasting fresh.
  6. Freeze Herbs in Olive Oil: Chop herbs and freeze them in olive oil using an ice cube tray. This preserves their flavour and makes them easy to use.
  7. Keep Cheese Fresh: Wrap cheese in wax paper instead of plastic wrap. Wax paper allows the cheese to breathe, preventing it from becoming slimy.
  8. Store Avocados with Onions: Place a cut avocado in an airtight container with a slice of onion. The sulphur compounds in the onion slow down oxidation, keeping the avocado fresh.
  9. Use Vinegar Wash for Berries: Rinse berries in a mixture of water and vinegar (one cup of vinegar to three cups of water) before storing. This kills bacteria and mould spores, extending their shelf life.
  10. Egg Freshness Test: To check if eggs are still fresh, place them in a bowl of water. Fresh eggs will sink, while old ones will float.

Implement these clever hacks to maximise the freshness of your food and make the most of your groceries.

Another added: “Tried it and it’s amazing how long my cilantro and parsley last!”

A third commented: “Love this! I kept mine in a jar of water but I didn’t know to cover it. I will definitely try it.”

Whilst someone else penned: “Oh I’m trying it! I love cilantro but it always goes bad within a week.”

Disney+ fans can save £20 on an annual subscription AND get free delivery on their takeaways using little-known trick

DISNEY+ fans can save £20 on an annual membership and get free delivery on their Uber takeaways with a shiny new offer.

Uber is trying to lure customers to its Uber One membership,  a subscription option which gives you free delivery and other third-party discounts.

The deal means you can buy an Uber One subscription instead of a Disney+ package and get the benefits of both while saving £20[/caption]

Depending on how many takeaways arrive at your door each month, Uber One could save you a fair bit of money.

But if that’s not enough to entice you, Uber is now offering new subscribers one year’s worth of free Disney+.

It’s a standard Disney+ subscription too – so you won’t have to endure ads.

An annual Disney+ Standard plan will currently set you back £79.90 per year.

Whereas the cost of Uber One annually is £59.99.

That means you can buy an Uber One subscription instead of a Disney+ package and get the benefits of both while saving £20.

Unlike most time-sensitive offers, this deal is available to both new subscribers and returning Disney+ users.

As long as you don’t have an active Disney+ account, you are eligible to snap up this bargain.

The offer ends at midnight on 30 November – so you have a while to decide whether it’s right for you.

If you do go ahead with the deal, it’s important to note that it can take up to 48 hours to receive a Disney+ code from Uber.

And you must use the code to activate your Disney+ account before the offer runs out, otherwise it might not work.

Uber quietly launched the promotion in March this year.

If you have claimed a Disney+ code from signing onto Uber One between 18 March and 30 November, then you won’t be able to accept the offer again.

You also can’t cancel your Uber One subscription after securing the deal, in an effort to game the system.

Bargain hunters on HotUKDeals have already tried that trick, and allegedly had their Disney+ accounts cancelled after just a few weeks.

Disney+ password crackdown

It comes as Disney+ plots a Netflix-style account sharing crackdown on UK customers.

The decision to start blocking password sharing among family and friends was rolled out to US customers last week.

Account holders will have the option to add an “outside” extra user at a discounted rate, in the exact same model Netflix uses.

Users who share an account with someone outside of their household can add an “Extra Member” for $6.99 per month for Disney+ Basic (with ads) or $9.99 for Disney+ Premium (ad-free).

Basic and Premium monthly plans in the US cost $7.99 and $13.99 respectively.

While Disney+ has not revealed the exact UK pricing yet, Brits can expect similar cost tiers for their “Extra Members” across the pond.
