The star told how he was ‘thrown under a bus’ and said he could do the same if a camera was rolling[/caption]
As the second episode of Cast Away aired on Channel 5, Phil opened up on being ‘thrown under the bus’ by the people he worked with during the scandal.
Speaking to the camera, he said: “People just went, who I thought were my friends and they just went and that’s like ‘what the hell’.”
He continued: “I have been chucked under a bus, and I could drive the same bus over so many people but I’m not that sort of person, I never have been.”
“But if I sit down with a camera and the light’s going who knows what I’ll say.”
Later in the second episode of the three-part series, Phil said: “I miss parts of being on TV, certainly.
“I miss most of it, if I’m honest, I miss most of it.
“But there are bits that I really, really, really don’t miss.
“You learn a lot about people, I don’t miss that.”
Jobe’s brilliant goal comes as brother Jude prepares to face Lille in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
He missed one month of action due to a calf injury but has played their last three LaLiga games – including Sunday’s derby draw away at Atletico Madrid.

The new council Chairman of Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, Hon Chinedu Asogwa, has been charged to use his good offices to tame the activities of Oriokpa masquerades in the area. Baby Reindeer has been watched by more than 50 million worldwide since its launch on Netflix in April.
Based on his autobiographical one-man show, the series was also written by Gadd, with him playing the lead role of Donny Dunn.
Billed by Netflix as a “true story”, it tells of pub barman and comedian Donny being stalked, harassed and sexually assaulted by a woman called Martha, played by Jessica Gunning. She also picked up an Emmy — one of six the show won.
However, Netflix has been hit with a £127million lawsuit by the “real-life” Martha — Scottish lawyer Fiona Harvey, 58.
She sued the streaming giant in California in June, claiming Baby Reindeer “literally destroyed” her life and saying she has received death threats after being made to look like a “head-smashing rapist”.
Ms Harvey, from Fyvie in Aberdeenshire but living in London, said the show made her identifiable and subject to “brutal lies”.
In July, Netflix asked for the case to be thrown out. But on Friday, a judge ruled it can go ahead.
In the show, Martha is shown being convicted of stalking Donny — but Ms Harvey was never convicted of such an offence against Gadd.
The judge said: “There is a major difference between stalking and being convicted of stalking and likewise between inappropriate touching and sexual assault.”
However, on Monday Netflix filed to appoint a neutral, third-party mediator, which could prevent the need for a federal trial in LA.

THE owner of HMV has revealed he is on the hunt for more British high street businesses in a welcome break from the doom and gloom in retail.
Doug Putman, who rescued the music store chain from bankruptcy in 2019, told The Sun: “I would love to buy more businesses in the UK.
Doug Putman, above, with Ollie the dog, took back HMV’s historic store on London’s Oxford Street last November from a tacky candy store – and he’s hungry for more[/caption]
“I’m not interested in a quick buck and flipping it.
“I love the businesses that I own.”
Mr Putman, 40, took back HMV’s historic store on London’s Oxford Street last November from a tacky candy store.
He also opened shops in Ireland and Belgium as he expanded the music chain to just over 120 shops, with plans for more in the UK.
It can also be revealed that Mr. Putman was in secret talks to save Ted Baker stores.
But he abandoned a deal after the fashion retailer’s US owner Authentic Brands did not want to give up its royalty rights.
He insists he was the only credible bidder with financing and an offer to save 100,000 jobs and 200 stores before it was broken into chunks.
He added: “The economy is tough but it’s tough everywhere.
“Out of the countries I operate in I would want to invest the most in the UK and least in Canada.
“I love the British high street.”
But he is urging the government to focus on ensuring online retailers pay their fair share of tax.
Mr. Putman said: “If you are going to operate in a country, make sales from people in the country, use the country, then you sure as hell should be paying full taxes.”
In a further swipe at Amazon — often seen as the nemesis of music and book stores — he said advances in technology risked creating a “joyless life.”
He said: “Staring at screens and waiting at home to open our packages from Amazon, is that the world we want? Don’t we want to see friends and family, go to music stores, visit book shops?”
Mr. Putman said HMV’s revival was in tune with the renaissance of physical music, despite streaming now accounting for the overwhelming majority of sales.
He said: “CDs are back in growth, because they’re cheap, vinyl is growing, so are books — they are tangible things that counter people’s addictions to their mobile phones.”
HMV’s most recent accounts reveal sales rose by 18 percent to £177 million, while pre-tax profits more than doubled to £5.2 million for the year to May 2023.
Ashley’s Mulberry bid snub
The rejection of Mike Ashley’s £83 million Mulberry takeover approach is likely to irk the billionaire, who has built up a 37 percent stake in the firm[/caption]
Troubled luxury brand Mulberry has swiftly snubbed an £83 million takeover approach from Mike Ashley.
The Sun yesterday revealed the handbag maker’s board was likely to dismiss the hostile offer from the sportswear billionaire’s Frasers Group.
Mulberry said that the bid “does not recognise the company’s substantial future potential value.”
It added its majority shareholder Challice, which is owned by the Singaporean billionaire Christina Ong, “is supportive of the company’s strategy and has no interest in supporting the possible offer.”
The rejection is likely to irk Mr. Ashley, who has built up a 37 percent stake in Mulberry.
He has until October 28 to come back with another offer.
Mulberry needs to raise £10 million from investors after slumping sales knocked it to a heavy loss.
It said it hoped Frasers Group would take part as an investor in the share offer.
Pumpkin & patchy
Greggs is hoping its new pumpkin spice doughnuts will tempt customers to stores after a slight sales slowdown.
The City has become used to Greggs’ strong trading and was yesterday spooked by a slight softening in like-for-like sales growth of 5 percent.
It compared with the previous quarter’s 7.4 percent.
Shares in Greggs fell by as much as 5.6 percent, despite it being on track to hit profit targets and open 160 more shops this year.
Dob jobs blow
Garden centre Dobbies is planning to shut 17 shops in a move that will cut 465 jobs.
The retailer — founded in 1865 — will close all six of its high street “Little Dobbies” trials, as well as 11 larger stores in locations ranging from Altrincham, Greater Manchester, to Stratford-upon-Avon, Warwickshire.
The garden centre retailer lost £105.2 million in the year to March 2023 compared with a loss of £7 million in 2022.
Hedge fund Ares Management took control of the business last year.
The price of gold has kept rising amid fears of all-out war in the Middle East.
Often considered a safe haven asset, the precious metal has soared 29 percent so far this year.
Yesterday it climbed another 1 percent to £2,004.46 an ounce.
Optimism fades
Manufacturers became much more pessimistic last month amid concerns over Labour’s first budget and conflict in the Middle East.
A closely watched survey showed the sharpest drop in confidence among factory bosses since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
The S&P Global UK Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index slipped to a nine-month low of 51.5 in September.
Rob Dobson, director at S&P Global Market Intelligence, said: “The drop in confidence was striking.”
5 days agoWorld LeaksComments Off on Arsenal player ratings: Brave Havertz ends debate over his position against PSG but Calafiori needs to iron out errors
KAI HAVERTZ and Bukayo Saka sent Arsenal to a deserved victory borne of first-half dominance.
Paris Saint-Germain did hit the bar and the post as they improved after hte break in this Champions League tie
Opening scorer Kai Havertz was also the star performer overall[/caption]
Gabriel Magalhaes and Riccardo Calafiori were solid in defence for the Gunners[/caption]
Havertz nodded home a brilliant cross from Leandro Trossard on 20 minutes.
Saka deservedly doubled that 15 minutes later, albeit by swinging in a free-kick that evaded everyone, including keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
But PSG were far more forceful after the break, whereas the Gunners’ lost both their fluency and control of possession.
However, Mikel Arteta’s men looked more secure in the final quarter of the match to close out victory – making it four points from two group ties.
Here’s how the Gunners rated at the Emirates on Tuesday.
DAVID RAYA – 7
Was perhaps busier than he usually is at home.
Helplessly watched a Nuno Mendes effort smack his far post and stood firm to deny Achraf Hakimi at his near post.
A frantic display, one that had more shaky moments than good. Kept busy by Hakimi and was done for pace on a few occasions but recovered well.
A mistake early in the second half almost gave PSG a way back into the game. Needs to iron out these errors from his game, particularly when he is so dangerous in attack.
However, he was playing at right-back for the first time in his career after the break.
WILLIAM SALIBA – 7
Did not have much to do. A stray pass early on could have been costly but other than that another reliable and strong performance.
GABRIEL – 7
Sprayed some nice passes about from deep but this was a stress-free night’s work compared to the Premier League.
JURRIEN TIMBER – 8
Just how on earth does Ben White get back in this side at right back? Another immaculate display from a man who seemingly has it all in defence and attack.
Well, White may well get his chance after Timber was subbed off at half-time.
DECLAN RICE – 7
Solid as a rock and building a real partnership with Partey in midfield. Had a chance to drive forward just before the half hour mark but his pass to Saka was cut out.
THOMAS PARTEY – 8
So consistent at the moment, something Arsenal fans have not seen from the Ghanaian midfielder in a long time owing mostly to injury.
Made some crucial interceptions and showed real composure playing out from deep.
LEANDRO TROSSARD – 8
One of Arsenal’s most important players right now. Since his red card at Man City, he has notched a goal and an assist – the latter here for Havertz to open the scoring with a perfectly-timed cross.
BUKAYO SAKA – 7
After an early shot over the bar from a trademark cut inside, the England international had a slight drop off in influence before his scuffed free-kick flew in untouched from out wide.
Still, he gave Mendes a torrid time at left-back. Even PSG manager Luis Enrique watched on at times in awe inside his technical area.
GABRIEL MARTINELLI – 7
A quiet night for the Brazilian following his first goal since March against Leicester, which may have been down to a big collision with Gianluigi Donnarumma in the first few minutes.
Should have made it 3-0 with a volley inside the box after the break but it was straight at Donnarumma. Unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.
KAI HAVERTZ – 9
Brave and brilliant to head in from Trossard’s teasing cross, despite the onrushing lump that is Donnarumma trying to take his head off.
Almost had an assist too with a cute lay-up for Martinelli in the box. The striker-midfield debate should be over – Havertz is a top-class centre forward.
SUBS:
JAKUB KIWIOR (TIMBER, 45) – 7
Did what was expected of him at left-back. Produced a good recovery tackle on Kang-in Lee in the box.
MIKEL MERINO (PARTEY, 64) – 7
Finally, a debut for the Spaniard. Some neat touches under pressure, slotting in seamlessly next to Rice.
GABRIEL JESUS (TROSSARD, 74) – 6
Looked desperate to impress having struggled for starts so far and that looks to be working against him – things just aren’t clicking.
MYLES LEWIS-SKELLY (SAKA, 92) – N/A

STRICTLY star Nick Knowles said women in the North East were “munters” in a sleazy chat with a young charity worker, it was claimed last night.
The TV favourite, 62, allegedly made a string of lewd and offensive remarks to the woman and ogled her breasts while filming BBC show DIY SOS: The Big Build.
The woman, who claims she was left feeling mortified, decided to speak out after watching Knowles on Strictly with dance pro Luba Mushtuk[/caption]
It left the 33-year-old support worker feeling embarrassed and mortified, she claimed.
The mum-of-one said she was interviewed by Knowles in 2018 for an episode of the show about a home renovation for a young blind girl with a genetic disorder.
She claims he turned up late after boozing the night before — and later kipped in a van.
Knowles was said to have been hungover, looked worse for wear and stank of stale booze and cigarettes after partying at North Shields Fish Quay.
When the then 26-year-old dropped her microphone down her blouse, the star allegedly said: “It’s a shame that’s not a camera.”
And while recounting his big night out, she claims he branded the women of North Shields “munters”, and said she was the “first good-looking woman he had seen” while in the North East.
She told The Sun: “I was mortified. He humiliated me in a very personal way in front of the whole crew. It was offensive. He was in his late 50s. He was being so inappropriate and I felt belittled.
“I had been looking forward to meeting him and he ruined the whole experience for me.”
The woman, who has asked not to be identified, said she did not challenge him at the time.
She said: “I remember just laughing along and feeling awkward. There were other people around and everyone was there to do a good deed for a little girl. I didn’t want to spoil that special moment.”
The woman, who posed for a photo with the star, said he did not touch her or make a pass.
She said once cameras were rolling, he suddenly transformed into showman mode.
She said: “On camera, he comes across as a nice, sensitive guy, but from my experience he is a very different person in real life.”
The star saw she was wearing an engagement ring and allegedly tried to talk her out of getting wed, saying it had not worked for him.
She said she decided to speak out after watching Knowles on Strictly with dance pro Luba Mushtuk, saying: “It made me so angry seeing him dancing around.”
Newcastle Lib Dem councillor Robin Ashby said: “He should keep his opinions to himself.”
And PR guru Claire Barber said: “Saying that about North East women is a reflection on his values on women as a whole.”
The BBC declined to comment on the incident but said: “We are against all forms of inappropriate behaviour and have robust processes if issues are raised.”
