UFC star apologises to opponent for punching him twice in the head while he was ALREADY unconscious on the canvas
A UFC star has apologised to his opponent for punching him after he was already knocked out.
Lightweight Fares Ziam beat Matt Frevola at UFC Fight Night in Paris at the weekend.
He earned the Performance of the Night after knocking out Frevola in devastating fashion.
The pair tussled up against the cage wall when Ziam smashed a knee into his opponent’s jaw, knocking him unconscious.
Frevola fell to the canvas lifelessly and the referee rushed to intervene to stop the fight.
But Ziam continued and landed a couple of blows as Frevola lay unconscious, and he has since apologised for his actions.
Ziam said: “I’m sorry to Matt that I did that, but I didn’t feel the knockout.
“So, I didn’t know at the time he was knocked out, so I am sorry about that.”
Some fans were impressed by the knock-out but Ziam was criticised by others for punching Frevola while he was down.
One reacted saying: “Why the extra punches. Matt was clearly out after the knee.”

Crucial motorway used by 75,000 Brits every day is CLOSED in both directions this week – check exact times to avoid
A CRUCIAL motorway that carries 75,000 Brits every day is set to close in both directions this week.
The shutdown is part of a programme of maintenance works which are expected to last as long as six months.
The M5 is a vital artery of the road network, connecting the Midlands with the South West and linking up with other motorways to access London, Wales and Nottingham.
However, as the completed route is approaching 50 years old, road bosses have ordered a programme of renewal this year.
National Highways is set to carry out “essential repairs” to the concrete layer on which the carriageway sits.
This requires them to strip away the surface layers to access the base before resurfacing afterwards.
Where work is carried out, the road will have to be closed fully in both directions at different times, with diversions put in place where possible.
The repairs began last month and will continue in several rounds across the next six months.
The closures will hit the area around J27, near Willand, Devon.
This week will see the next phase begin, with the route closed between J26 at Wellington and J28 at Cullumpton.
First, the affected stretch will be closed northbound tonight and tomorrow night.
The same part of the road will then shut in the opposite direction on Friday and Saturday night.
Each time, the closures will last from 8.30pm to 6am the next morning.
Traffic looking to travel at those times will be diverted onto the B3181 and A38 before rejoining the M5 at the next available junction.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: “We understand that road closures are frustrating, but by closing the road and installing a contraflow, we can get this essential repair work done safely and quickly, causing less disruption overall.”
“Work will be starting near the central reservation, before moving across the carriageway.
“National Highways has planned the work for after the main summer holiday period, and three lanes will be open in each direction for October half term, to minimise disruption.
“Weather dependent, the work will finish before Easter 2025.”
Hopes for Michael Schumacher as he ‘could attend son Mick’s wedding’ amid rumours he appeared at daughter Gina’s
HOPES are growing for Michael Schumacher as it’s speculated he could attend his son’s wedding following rumours he appeared at his daughter’s nuptials.
The seven-time F1 champion is said to have attended the marriage of his daughter Gina, 27, to Iain Bethke, in a private ceremony.
The pair tied the knot in Majorca, at the family’s luxury villa, near the upmarket resort of Port d’Andratx.
Schumacher’s attendance has not been confirmed by his family.
Stricken Schumacher has reportedly spent much of his time at the £27million villa, which is believed to have been adapted allowing a team of doctors and nurses to provide round-the-clock care.
The F1 star, now 55, suffered life-changing injuries after a serious skiing accident in Grenbole in December 2013.
He spent months in a medically induced coma and eventually returned to his home at Lake Geneva in Switzerland in September 2014.
He has since been cared for by his wife Corinna and a team of medical experts.
In September 2020 it was claimed Schumacher was spending time at the villa in Majorca.
Spanish press said he had been moved from his Swiss home to the exclusive property, which is located on the upmarket estate of Las Brisas near Andratx in the south-west of Majorca.
His family has opted not to give any details on his condition.
Reports in the Spanish press though have claimed Schumacher attended his daughter’s private ceremony.
Majorcan news outlet Ultima Hora said the service lasted around half an hour.
It’s said to have been followed by a banquet and party, including a performance by a country music band.
Among the guest list was Michael’s brother Ralf and his partner Etienne Bosquet-Cassagne, who also attended a pre-party at upmarket Mhares Sea Club on Friday afternoon.
Guests were instructed to leave their mobile phones at the door.
No media were given permission to attend.
Gina did take to social media to post a picture of the newlyweds once the ceremony was over.
Along with the photo, she wrote: “Forever yes to you, yes forever.”
MICK NOW ENGAGED
Now, speculation has started that Schumacher could be set to attend the wedding celebrations of his son Mick Schumacher after he got engaged at the weekend to his long-term girlfriend Laila Hasanovic.
The lingerie model shared a photo of a ring on her finger on her Instagram account, writing: “Then it’s game over.”
Schumacher Jr though has yet to post about the engagement on his social media sites.
Father and son were skiing together in the French Alps when Michael suffered his horror crash.
However it was only in March 2017 that Mick talked openly about his dad’s influence and referred to his father as an “idol” and “role model”.
Updates on the racing legend’s health have been few and far between.
Gina and her brother Mick wished their dad happy birthday with touching messages when he turned 55.
Gina wrote on Instagram: “Happy Birthday Papa! throwback to one of many of our adventures.”
The post was accompanied by a picture of her and her brother as kids with the F1 star.
Mick, now 25, wrote: “Happy birthday to the best Dad ever. Love you!”
The message showed a photo of them both wearing helmets, with a young Mick smiling and holding his thumb up as Michael looked lovingly towards him.
Schumacher’s ex-Formula One team Mercedes also posted a birthday message urging him to “keep fighting”.
Michael’s younger brother Ralf, who was also an F1 driver, told Bild at the end of last year: “Nothing is like before.”
He added: “I miss my Michael from back then. Life is sometimes unfair. Michael had been lucky many times in his life, but then the tragic accident happened.
“Fortunately, modern medicine has made it possible to do some things.”
His wife Corinna offered a rare insight on her husband’s state in a Netflix documentary in 2021.
She said “I miss Michael every day.
“But it is not just me who misses him. It’s the children, the family, his father, everyone around him. I mean, everybody misses Michael, but Michael is here.
“Different, but he’s here, and that gives us strength. We’re together. We live together at home.”

MARTIN Lewis has issued an urgent warning to all Disney+ customers due to a major change that could cost £60 a year.
It has been revealed that Disney+ is knuckling down on password sharing.
In a recent MoneySavingExpert newsletter, it was explained that customers who share Disney+ accounts will have to pay an extra £4.99 a month.
This is on top of your existing base price plan.
Say you share an account with friends or family who don’t live with you, the cost will apply.
Add it all up and it comes to £60 a year.
If you currently have a monthly £7.99 standard plan, this will become £12.78 with the separate “extra member” price.
Or if you have a £10.99 premium plan, this will become £15.98.
Alternatively, a £4.99 standard with ads plan will become £8.98 as the extra member cost is £3.99.
Disney+ will also check your location when you access the service.
A “household” will automatically be set up for the account based on the devices you use and where your primary residence is.
Logging into your account away from home will mean completing a verification process using a one-time passcode sent to your email.
To share your account with someone else, you’ll need to buy a separate extra member profile.
You won’t be charged the extra fee automatically, instead you’ll need to buy the extra profile yourself.
However, you can only buy one per account.
This member can’t already have had a Disney+ subscription, including a free trial.
And they can only stream one device at a time.
It is worth noting that Disney+ have not revealed how exactly they will enforce this new policy.
There is a chance you might get locked out of your account if your’e not the account holder.
Sun Money has contacted Disney+ and will update this story when we hear back.
Last weekend The Sun reported on this news along with the revelation of it not being so long ago that Netflix begun charging for password sharing.
In 2023, Netflix started banning viewers from streaming the service if they didn’t live at the house of the primary account holder.
This meant Netflix users who wanted to share an account were charged £4.99 a month, the same as having your own ad-based subscription.
How to save on your Disney+ subscription
Here are a list of ways to cut costs.
Lloyds Bank’s Club Lloyds account gives you 12 months’ Disney+ standard with ads streaming for free – it’s normally £4.99 a month, £59.88 for a year.
The account is fee-free as long as you meet the £2,000 a month minimum pay-in – there’s a £3 a month fee if you don’t.
Or, if you have a Tesco Clubcard with enough points, you can use your Clubcard vouchers to get 50% off a three-month Disney+ subscription.
Although, this only works with standard with ads and standard subscriptions.
When you swap your vouchers, you’ll get a code that’s valid until May 1, 2025, so if you’re an existing Disney+ subscriber you can wait till your current plan expires, and then use the code.
How to cancel your Disney+ subscription
If you’re unhappy with the changes to your subscription you can cancel anytime by following these simple steps.
It’s important to note though that if you cancel, you won’t be able to watch TV shows or any other content through the streaming platform.
You can cancel at any time and there is no fee to leave.
Start by logging into your Disney+ account online.
Then click the Manage Account button which can be found in the top corner of the screen.
From the plans and billing section, click on your subscription. Then, click cancel subscription and follow the last few steps to confirm.
Do bear in mind, that if you cancel halfway through your billing cycle, you’ll still be able to use the account until your next payment date.
How to save on subscriptions

The 49-year-old Hollywood star was captured in photos just last month with the rapper, as they left a hotel in Venice.
Akala, 40 – birth name Kingslee James McLean Daley – has now been spotted at the same event as Angelina in a post on Instagram.
The event happened in New York, and it was hosted by actress Angelina for her company Atelier Jolie.
The pair appeared individually in different slides, but fans noticed that Akala was in attendance nonetheless.
The post was shared on the Atelier Jolie Official Instagram page, and captioned: “Atelier Jolie welcomed Mustafa at 57 Great Jones, hosting a special listening party and panel discussion for his debut album, Dunya, out now.
“Join us in celebrating this stunning 12-song collection, where folk meets poetry. The album is available to stream now on all platforms.”
In the photos, Angelina could be seen sitting down to interview Mustafa, as her political activist rumoured boyfriend watched on in a black crew beck T-shirt.
The photos come just days after Akala joined the ex-wife of Brad Pitt at the 62nd New York Film Festival premiere of her film Maria.
There have been a handful of sightings of Angelina and Akala.
In November 2023, the duo was seen leaving a restaurant in Milan, where Angelina was filming the upcoming biopic, Maria.
Six months earlier, the Academy Award winner and her rumored beau were seen again at the Calabash Literary Festival in Jamaica.
Akala joined Angelina and her daughters Zahara, 19, and Shiloh, 18, for the event, setting off chatter that a romance was brewing.
But sources close to Angelina told TMZ that she and the British rapper aren’t dating and are just friends.

Brianna Coppage revealed she started her spicy online side hustle to help pay the bills but didn’t plan to make it a full-time career.

BUKAYO SAKA has helped give Raheem Sterling’s son an experience he’ll never forget.
Thiago Sterling, 7, was Saka’s mascot ahead of the Gunners Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain.
The youngster accompanied the Three Lions star out onto the Emirates field ahead of Tuesday’s game.
The seven-year-old beamed as he lined up alongside the Gunners team for the Champions League anthem.
Thiago proved to be a lucky omen, with Saka going on to score the second goal in a comfortable 2-0 win for the hosts.
One proud Arsenal fan responded on X: “Incredible gesture from our captain.”
Another said: “A special moment for Saka and Thiago.”
While a third added: “Absolutely love this.”
And a fourth speculated: “Sterling is doing everything in his power to make this into a permanent transfer.”
Even at the age of 1, Thiago was showing signs of being a chip off the old block.

Was perhaps busier than he usually is at home.
Helplessly watched a Nuno Mendes effort smack his far post and stood firm to deny Achraf Hakimi at his near post.
RICCARDO CALAFIORI – 6
A frantic display, one that had more shaky moments than good. Kept busy by Hakimi and was done for pace on a few occasions but recovered well.
A mistake early in the second half almost gave PSG a way back into the game. Needs to iron out these errors from his game, particularly when he is so dangerous in attack.
However, he was playing at right-back for the first time in his career after the break.
WILLIAM SALIBA – 7
Did not have much to do. A stray pass early on could have been costly but other than that another reliable and strong performance.
GABRIEL – 7
Sprayed some nice passes about from deep but this was a stress-free night’s work compared to the Premier League.
JURRIEN TIMBER – 8
Just how on earth does Ben White get back in this side at right back? Another immaculate display from a man who seemingly has it all in defence and attack.
Well, White may well get his chance after Timber was subbed off at half-time.
DECLAN RICE – 7
Solid as a rock and building a real partnership with Partey in midfield. Had a chance to drive forward just before the half hour mark but his pass to Saka was cut out.
THOMAS PARTEY – 8
So consistent at the moment, something Arsenal fans have not seen from the Ghanaian midfielder in a long time owing mostly to injury.
Made some crucial interceptions and showed real composure playing out from deep.
LEANDRO TROSSARD – 8
One of Arsenal’s most important players right now. Since his red card at Man City, he has notched a goal and an assist – the latter here for Havertz to open the scoring with a perfectly-timed cross.
BUKAYO SAKA – 7
After an early shot over the bar from a trademark cut inside, the England international had a slight drop off in influence before his scuffed free-kick flew in untouched from out wide.
Still, he gave Mendes a torrid time at left-back. Even PSG manager Luis Enrique watched on at times in awe inside his technical area.
GABRIEL MARTINELLI – 7
A quiet night for the Brazilian following his first goal since March against Leicester, which may have been down to a big collision with Gianluigi Donnarumma in the first few minutes.
Should have made it 3-0 with a volley inside the box after the break but it was straight at Donnarumma. Unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.
KAI HAVERTZ – 9
Brave and brilliant to head in from Trossard’s teasing cross, despite the onrushing lump that is Donnarumma trying to take his head off.
Almost had an assist too with a cute lay-up for Martinelli in the box. The striker-midfield debate should be over – Havertz is a top-class centre forward.
SUBS:
JAKUB KIWIOR (TIMBER, 45) – 7
Did what was expected of him at left-back. Produced a good recovery tackle on Kang-in Lee in the box.
MIKEL MERINO (PARTEY, 64) – 7
Finally, a debut for the Spaniard. Some neat touches under pressure, slotting in seamlessly next to Rice.
GABRIEL JESUS (TROSSARD, 74) – 6
Looked desperate to impress having struggled for starts so far and that looks to be working against him – things just aren’t clicking.
MYLES LEWIS-SKELLY (SAKA, 92) – N/A
Sterling has appeared just twice since arriving from Stamford Bridge in the summer.
But he is confident he still has plenty to give out on the field as Arsenal hunt for trophies this season.
He continued: “I don’t know [about role after retirement] – it’s a way off yet. That’s something for the future.
“There is a qualification I want to do, not on the coaching side, but I will focus on playing first I think.”
