HUGE dance act Justice have announced a rare one-off show at Alexandra Palace, with tickets going on sale tomorrow.

Bandmembers Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay are currently gigging in the U.S., with their next performance at the Mission Ballroom in Denver tonight before wrapping up the tour on October 23 at the Radius in Chicago.

In an interview with NME earlier this year, Xavier said of the concerts: “In a way, the live show is almost like the opposite of the album, in the sense that we want the live show to be digestible in one go.

“Everything is meant to be a bit simpler and more straightforward when we play live, but ideally, we want our albums to give you new surprises with every listening session.

“We don’t want all of it to be fully legible the first time around with the album, but at the shows we don’t really care if you even know our music; we just want it to be catchy and fun.”

Justice have been active since 2003, gaining attention with their remix of Simian’s Never Be Alone that year, which led to a contract with Ed Banger Records.

Their debut album, Cross, was released in 2007 and received widespread acclaim – featuring singles D.A.N.C.E., DVNO, Phantom, and Phantom Pt. II.

The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Electronic/Dance Album, with D.A.N.C.E. earning a nomination for Best Dance Recording.

In 2008, they released a live album, A Cross the Universe, which was accompanied by a documentary film of the same name.

Justice’s music videos have also received critical praise, particularly the animated D.A.N.C.E. video and the controversial Stress video, which depicted a group of teenagers on a violent rampage in Paris.

The Stress video was directed by Romain Gavras and stirred public and media debate over its portrayal of violence and youth culture.

Justice’s second album, Audio, Video, Disco, released in 2011, marked a shift towards rock, stepping away from their earlier house music style.

The album’s promotion included singles such as Civilization, which was used in an advertising campaign for Adidas, and Audio, Video, Disco.

Their third album, Woman, was released in 2016 and continued the trend of incorporating various musical influences, including disco and funk.

Woman was followed by a live album recording of their subsequent tour, Woman Worldwide, in 2018, which won a Grammy Award for Best Dance/Electronic Album in 2019.

As well as Coming To America, he was known for Die Hard 2 and Dr Doolittle.

On the small screen he was best known for his Emmy-nominated role in Roots, and starring in The West Wing.

Away from his acting career, John was married twice, with actress Lillian Lehman being his second wife.

John and Lillian were married in 1978, following his divorce from Noel Mickelson.

However, the couple were only together for a year before calling it quits in 1979.

The former pair were then reunited in the 1992 film Night Track, where they played a married couple.

Speaking about playing her ex-husband’s onscreen wife, Lillian said on set at the time: “It’s strange that I happen to be playing my ex-husband’s wife, but it really isn’t that hard because neither of us harbored any bad feelings after our marriage and we both respect each other as actors.”

She added: “Still, it was especially strange because neither of us knew we’d be performing with each other until we got to Mobile to start filming.

“The person who cast us didn’t even realize that John and I had been married!”

Star of the big and small screen

Lillian has enjoyed an impress career as an actress both in the movies and on TV.

Over the years she has become best known for playing professional characters like doctors and judges.

When you are an actor, you have to consider yourself blessed if you are thought of as anything that allows you to work consistently.”

Lillian Lehman

Speaking about why she is often bags this type of role, she told Montgomery Advertiser in 1992: “I’ve been told I express an authoritative presence, but also a sense of compassion.

“I’ve tried out for parts like nurses and clerks, and been told ‘Sorry, Lillian, but you’re just not the nurse type. You’re the doctor type.’

“Still, when you are an actor, you have to consider yourself blessed if you are thought of as anything that allows you to work consistently.”

Fans may recognise her from TV shows like L.A. Law, Macgyver, General Hospital and The Closer.

In the movies, her biggest roles include starring alongside Steve Carell in Evan Almighty and Madonna in Body of Evidence.

Life as a professor

Lillian also used to juggle being a drama professor at California State University Northridge, whilst she was appearing in L.A Law.

She said at the time: “Sometimes it’s tough balancing the two professions.

“You’ll finally wrap up a shoot late at night, and everyone is going out to celebrate, and you can’t because you have grades due the next Friday.”

Erik ten Hag breaks silence on Man Utd future as he’s given two games to save his job after disastrous Tottenham defeat

MANCHESTER UNITED manager Erik ten Hag insists “there is nothing to panic about” despite the club’s poor start to the season.

The Red Devils dropped to 12th in the Premier League table on Sunday following a 3-0 defeat to Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Erik ten Hag has revealed he is ‘not anxious’ about losing his job[/caption]

Club legend Gary Neville branded the performance “disgusting” while Ashley Young criticised players for not putting in any effort.

Many fans are now calling for Ten Hag to be sacked by United chiefs.

SunSport understands the Dutchman has two games to save his job – against Porto and Aston Villa.

But Ten Hag insists he is not worried about facing the axe.

“I’m not thinking about it, I’m not anxious,” he revealed while speaking to Sky Sports.

“We created a togetherness in the summer with the ownership and the leadership.

“We made this agreement, and we were all behind it. We know the strategy [is to bring in] young players in a transition period.

“They also know in May in all my last six seasons there were always trophies and that is what we are aiming for.”

Ten Hag even suggested “there is nothing to panic about” at Old Trafford.

“We are going to make a success from the season,” he continued.

“Nothing is easy, but this is nothing for me to panic about. We can sort [the problems] out, this team can sort this out.”

Securing Champions League football will be imperative for Man Utd’s financial status next season.

If they fail to finish this Premier League campaign in the top four, United will trigger a £10million penalty clause with partner Adidas.

When Man Utd penned a 10-year partnership extension with Adidas last summer, it was agreed that failure to qualify for the Champions League on two consecutive occasions would lead to a 30 per cent reduction in annual payments.

Man Utd ratings vs Tottenham

MANCHESTER UNITED suffered a 3-0 thrashing against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off in the first half for fouling James Maddison, forcing Erik Ten Hag’s side to play with 10 men against Ange Postecoglou’s team.

After back-to-back draws against Crystal Palace and FC Twente fans hoped United would redeem themselves against Spurs.

However, the match at Old Trafford quickly turned sour. Brennan Johnson scored early and things worsened when Fernandes was sent off allowing Spurs to extend their lead to 3-0.

And here is how SunSports Charlie Wyett rated the Manchester United stars.

Andre Onana – 5

Stood his ground to deliver a good save from Timo Werner who was clean through – no chance for either goal.

Noussair Mazraoui – 5

First in the refs’ book for chopping down Destiny Udogie. Could also have blocked Micky van de Ven for the goal. Just watched Solanke make it 3-0.

Matthijs de Ligt – 4

Shocking first half. Failed to cut out the cross from Micky van de Ven which led to the first goal.

Lisandro Martinez – 5

Switched off for the Spurs goal and was drawn to the ball and Johnson was left unmarked.

Diogo Dalot – 5

Gave the ball away in dangerous areas and struggled against Johnson.

Manuel Ugarte – 5

Suffered a stinker and was lucky to last until the 73rd minute.

Kobbie Mainoo – 5

Not one of his better performances and was taken off just before half-time following Fernandes’ sending-off.

Marcus Rashford – 5

Over-ran the ball for Tottenham’s first. Way off the pace.

Bruno Fernandes – 4

Arguably the worst captain in United’s history. Deserved red card for his challenge on James Maddison.

Alejandro Garnacho – 6

Had United’s only chance in the first half but hit the outside of the post. Improved in the second half.

Joshua Zirkzee – 5

Looked completely lost up front – threatening to be another poor Erik ten Hag signing. Replaced at half-time.

Subs:

Mount (for Mainoo 45)  5, Casemiro (for Zirkzee 46) 7, Hojlund (for Rashford 73) 5, Eriksen (for Ugarte 73) 5.

How Zara McDermott used Strictly to DOUBLE her wealth ‘from scandal to success’ & why she could be the next Maya Jama

FROM Love Islander to acclaimed documentary maker, Zara McDermott is proving she has what it takes to carve out a career in TV.

And she’s now landed a brand new BBC two-part documentary exploring the impact of stalking, further cementing herself as a force not to be reckoned with.

It comes after she made TV history during her appearance on Strictly Come Dancing where she became the first ever Love Islander to grace the dance floor on the glitzy Saturday night prime time show.

It catapulted her career, and in 2023 the 27-year-old’s wealth soared from £142,726 to £309,913 in the space of 12 months, according to Companies House accounts.

Zara’s stint also paved the way to a brand partnership with L’Oréal and the launch of her clothing range, Rise, with Tesco. She also fronted “Ibiza: Secrets of the Party Island” over the summer where she explored what makes Ibiza tick.

And now, whilst full details of her most recent venture are yet to be announced, experts say she becoming the “one to look out for,” and that she could even be the “next Maya Jama.”

Joseph Hagan, celebrity publicist and owner of Streamline PR says: “Zara McDermott’s journey from Love Island contestant to a successful TV presenter and documentary maker is nothing short of impressive.

“While many reality stars struggle to shed the label of ‘former contestant’, Zara has skilfully repositioned herself as a serious content creator and presenter.

“Her recent financial growth, doubling her wealth from £142,726 to £309,913 in just a year, is a testament to her strategic brand shift and rise in the media world.”

Zara’s soaring success on TV is a stark shift in direction from where her career started.

She worked for the Department for Education as a policy adviser, before entering the Majorcan villa for the fourth series of Love Island in 2018.

Essex-girl Zara made her entrance into the Love Island villa two weeks after the programme began.

She was promptly chosen by Adam Collard, who stirred controversy by ending his pairing with Kendall Rae-Knight in favour of coupling up with Zara.

Even though the boys sent her packing four weeks into the series, splitting her from Adam, he decided to stick around in the villa.

But it wasn’t the end for the pair who dated for seven months after the show wrapped up.

While the increasing number of Love Island seasons has arguably led to viewer fatigue and an over-saturated influencer market, Zara has continued to make her mark.

Leveraging high-profile collaborations and documentary work, Zara has shown she can engage audiences on serious issues, while still maintaining her relatable, girl-next-door persona

Joseph Hagan

Joseph says: “With so many contestants vying for attention, it’s harder than ever to stand out.

“Additionally, new duty of care protocols introduced in 2023 prevent contestants from having friends and family post on their behalf while they’re in the villa.

“This social media ban makes it more difficult for newer contestants to grow their audience in real time, underscoring the importance of being able to pivot into other areas post-show to cultivate a loyal fanbase, as Zara has done.”

Since leaving the villa six years ago, smart Zara has managed to distance herself from the reality star image and carve out a career in her own right.

Joseph says: “While other Love Island alumni often get boxed into influencer roles, Zara has chosen a different path, focusing on producing thought-provoking documentaries for the BBC and releasing her own fitness range.

“This pivot has helped her gain credibility in the industry, allowing her to carve out a unique identity that stands apart from her Love Island roots.”

Zara has been compared to Maya Jama when it comes to success in television[/caption]

The ‘Maya Jama Effect’

Much like Maya Jama, who has transitioned from radio host to one of the most sought-after TV presenters in the UK, Zara has used key ‘tricks of the trade’ to rebrand herself.

Joseph says: “Leveraging high-profile collaborations and documentary work, Zara has shown she can engage audiences on serious issues, while still maintaining her relatable, girl-next-door persona.

“This dual approach balancing glamour with intelligence mirrors the successful formula that has worked for other stars like Maya.”

From scandal to success

Despite facing challenges on Strictly Come Dancing, including publicised issues with her former dance partner Graziano Di Prima and claims he ‘kicked her’, Zara has managed to turn a difficult situation into an opportunity for growth.

Joseph says: “Her ability to stay focused and continue delivering high-quality content has only enhanced her reputation.

“Her new fitness range, ‘Rise,’ with Tesco further showcases her expanding influence beyond television, positioning her as a lifestyle brand in her own right.”

An ‘additional layer’

Zara’s current relationship with Sam Thompson, who found fame on Made in Chelsea, has also opened the door to new audiences for both of them.

Joseph says: “Appearing on shows like Celebs Go Dating and Made in Chelsea has helped Sam cultivate a distinct fanbase, which in turn has expanded Zara’s visibility.

“This exposure to different audience demographics has provided an additional layer of relevance beyond Zara’s Love Island past.”

A ‘media mogul’

As Zara continues to evolve her career, her ability to navigate the often tricky world of TV and media shows no signs of slowing.

Joseph says: “With the backing of reputable brands and an increasing portfolio of serious work, Zara’s transformation from reality star to media mogul is far from over.”

How did Zara become so respected?

By Carol Driver, a journalist and PR expert

Figures showing Zara McDermott has doubled her income to more than £309,000 in the past year since appearing on Strictly Come Dancing is no surprise.

While going onto the BBC1 show would have been a pivotal milestone for the TV presenter, this rise in earnings can’t entirely be attributed entirely to waltzing around the dancefloor.

Zara’s continued presence on our TV screens – and resultant financial gains – are no overnight success.

Zara will have in place a really savvy business strategy – and she’s also been putting in the work for years.

Since we first saw Zara on Love Island, she’s built an incredibly loyal audience – now at two million on Instagram – and in turn, has escalated her brand and appeal.

And, she’s said yes to lucrative brand deals with household names such as L’Oreal and Tesco.

With her continued work with BBC documentaries, including ‘Ibiza: Secrets of the Party Island’, Zara has pivoted towards more serious TV shows, cleverly positioning her as a credible presenter.

It’s a similar reality TV star-turned popular TV presenter trajectory that we’ve seen with Maya Jama.

Like Maya, Zara’s ability to connect with a wide audience while taking on serious presenting roles could cement her as a respected media personality.
