Brit dad, 30, falls to his death on first ever lads holiday in Benidorm while looking for his room after night out

A DAD-of-four died on his first ever lads holiday after falling while looking for his hotel in Benidorm.

Nathan Osman, 30, became separated from his pals after a night out and couldn’t find his way back.

Police are investigating the dad-of-four’s death[/caption]

Spanish police are investigating but Nathan’s family in Pontypridd, South Wales, have been told he suffered a fatal fall.

His heartbroken older sister Alannah Hughes said on social media: “He travelled on his first boys holiday and he got lost looking for his hotel and fell.

“Nathan didn’t want to leave this earth, leave his children and our family.

“He would be so gutted, he had so many plans for himself and the kids’ future.

“Our hearts are broken and breaking for Nathan and his children.

“Nathan was the best father, son, uncle and certainly the most amazing, wonderful, supportive brother to me.”

Alannah said her brother’s children Mimi, Romi, Tayo and Tino were “distraught”.

She said: “Their heads are torn apart at the thought of not ever seeing, hearing or feeling their Dad ever again.

“Nathan’s kids were his absolute life and I’m sure that anyone that knew him would agree.

“Anything he ever did was to support and love his four children and give them the best life he could with the very little he had financially.”

His mother Liz Osman posted on Facebook saying: “Oh Nathan why you XXXXX ?”

More than £15,000 has been raised on a GoFundMe page to fly the body of mechanical engineer Nathan home to South Wales for a funeral.

Baby clothes shop owner Alannah added: “Money raised will be towards getting Nathan home as quickly as possible from Benidorm and if anything extra is raised will be given to his children in honour of what Nathan can’t give.

“He deserves this help more than anyone! As a family we are heartbroken and grateful.”

“I miss him so much already, he didn’t deserve this! My heart has never felt pain like this and I will long for my little brother for as long as I live.”

The Spanish authorities are continuing to investigate but are treating it as a tragic accident.

An inquest will be held in the UK after his body has been repatriated.

EFL duo risk wrath of their manager for breaking club rule after playing bizarre on-field game

COVENTRY duo Milan van Ewijk and Brandon Thomas-Asante risked enraging boss Mark Robins with a bizarre on-field game last night.

The Sky Blues took on Blackburn at the Coventry Building Society Arena, with the visitors going into the night unbeaten this term.

Brandon Thomas-Asante was also in action in the Championship clash[/caption]

Robins’ men have struggled so far this season, only winning one of their opening seven Championship games.

But they produced a much-improved performance last night against John Eustace’s Rovers.

With their side 2-0 up courtesy of goals by Jake Bidwell and Haji Wright, however, Van Ewijk and Thomas-Asante may have produced one small blot on Robins’ copybook.

After Coventry earned a free-kick in a dangerous position, both men fancied a crack at goal.

In order to decide who took it, the pair played rock, paper scissors.

Van Ewijk, 24, came out on top – but could only strike his subsequent effort straight at goalkeeper Aynsley Pears.

The Dutchman appeared to see the funny side, smiling after botching his attempt.

But his manager may view things differently.

Mark Robins’ side were in great form to beat Blackburn[/caption]

Back in February, Robins threatened to kill Wright and Callum O’Hare after the duo used the same game to determine who took a penalty during a clash at Millwall.

Even after Wright tucked the spot kick away, his boss said at the time: “Rock paper scissors? I’m going to kill them.

“For me, it’s about who’s confident to take the penalty. Now, Callum’s confident, Haji was a regular penalty taker in Turkey, so I’ve got no problem and then if I get involved with that then it obviously puts doubt in somebody’s head.

“So, let them sort it out and if they miss it then they’re in trouble, aren’t they, but thankfully they’ve got the wherewithal and the calm heads to deal with that situation.

“The good thing is they both want to score, they both want to take the penalty, they both want to get on the scoresheet.”

Just four minutes after Van Ewijk wasted last night’s free-kick, Thomas-Asante scored to make the three points safe.

Following his side’s 3-0 win, Robins said: “We were looking for a performance – and it was a big performance.

“We played really well, but I think we’ve played well in a number of games this season.

“I knew they were going to give a really good performance and that’s exactly what we got.”

Coventry’s win saw them climb to 16th in the table after eight matches, while Blackburn missed the chance to go top.

Terminally ill gran, 81, lost £140K to a scammer posing as Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore

A TERMINALLY ill pensioner lost £140,000 to a scammer posing as Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore.

Valerie Horwood, 81, was sent a Facebook message by the con artist claiming to be Blackmore.

She believed she was messaging Deep Purple rocker Ritchie Blackmore[/caption]

The OAP was duped into buying hundreds of Apple gift cards for him, which the fraudster claimed she would get back with benefits.

Valerie was sworn to secrecy by the Facebook user due to his so-called celebrity status.

But her family grew suspicious when she asked to borrow £2,000 to pay her bills.

She was left so traumatised by the con that Valerie attempted suicide.

Daughter Debbie, 58, was then horrified when she looked at her mum’s bank account and discovered all her money was missing.

She said: “She was pulled into a false sense of security thinking she had this really good friend who was a famous person. She really did not believe us when we told her that it was a scam.

“Her world just completely fell apart. She couldn’t comprehend what had happened.

“It is a hard thing to take on that you have just given all of your money away to a scammer.

“It is a very crafty scam.

“I have been through the worst emotional rollercoaster with it all.”

The scammer communicated with Valerie, who has terminal cancer, through an app called Signal.

The pensioner had been to school with Blackmore, who founded the British rock band.

She deleted the app but then began receiving messages on WhatsApp asking for more money.

Between a three-year period, she lost around £140,000 buying Apple gift cards.

Valerie would send the codes to the scammer who was then able to redeem them.

Debbie said: “We all went into shock. My mum is not a stupid old lady. She is very streetwise and very switched on.

“She was probably quite lonely. She was enjoying the chats that they were having.

“It is quite heartbreaking that she was sucked in. I never would have guessed that my mum would be so vulnerable like that.”

Valerie has now moved in with her daughter, who has become a full-time carer.

She has been left heartbroken after having no money left to live out her last wishes.

The pensioner had also been hoping to visit her grandson who lives in Antigua, which the family can no longer afford.

Debbie managed to claw back £12,500 from Tesco where some of the voucher money was spent.

She is now hoping other supermarkets where the majority of the cash was used will do the same.

A JustGiving has also been launched to help Valerie claw some of her savings back.

Debbie said: “We are fighting for justice for my mum and to recoup her money so that she can decide what she wants to do with it in her time left.

“My mum may need to go to a nursing home soon, and that’s what she could be using her money for. Not for some scammers to go and buy a Rolex watch or a smart car.”

What is gift card fraud?

GIFT card fraud is a crime on the rise in the UK with criminals duping vulnerable people into buying them vouchers.

Fraudsters then ask for the codes so they can redeem the cards then re-sell them or convert them into cash online.

Action Fraud said in 2019, 3,686 people lost money in scams totalling £5,957,430.

Between January 1 and July 31 this year, there have been 4,582 victims who have lost £10,631,219.

Hampshire Police, who is investigating Valerie’s case, has this advice:

  • When speaking to someone online, be aware that they may not be who they say they are
  • Slow down. Before you send money, talk with someone you trust
  • Do some research: search online to see if you can see any information regarding a similar “scam.” Do the same with any charity or cause they’re asking you to support
  • Never send money, gift cards or prepaid debit cards to someone you don’t know or haven’t met
  • If you sent money to a scammer, contact the company you used to send the money (your bank, wire transfer service, gift card company, or prepaid debit card company). Tell them the transaction was a fraud. Ask the company to reverse the transaction, if it’s possible
  • Report your experience to the social media site in question. If a fraud has already taken place, report it to Action Fraud and Police
  • If you are a friend, relative or carer of someone you think might be vulnerable to this type of scam, please speak to them about this advice. You might be the person who helps prevent them becoming a victim to this type of fraud.

Waitrose, Morrisons, Tesco and Boots confirmed they are working with staff to prevent similar frauds.

Hampshire Police said: “Over the past eight months, our officers have worked with the victim and her family to identify all possible lines of enquiry, as well as offering support and safeguarding advice to help prevent her kindness and generosity from being targeted again.

“It appears that there was a technical fault which meant that screenshots from the app, used by scammers to communicate with the victim, were not retrieved.

“Despite phone examinations by officers and several requests to the app provider, it has not been possible to recover them.

“Sophisticated scams such as this are purposely designed to target the most vulnerable, preying on their willingness to help others, without leaving much of an electronic footprint which makes them incredibly difficult to investigate.

“At this time, we have updated the victim that this investigation has been filed, pending any further evidence that we receive.

Iran extends airspace closure in anticipation of Israeli retaliation

Israel could SINK crucial Iranian ‘oil island’ Kharg where ‘90% of regime’s exports flow’ in huge retaliation firestorm

ISRAEL could be plotting to destroy Iran’s most critical oil export hub after vowing to unleash revenge for its 181-missile barrage.

Fears of all-out war are brewing in the Middle East as Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu warned the terrorist state had made a “big mistake”.

Israel is now planning a major response to last night’s unprecedented Iranian missile attack – likely to hit Iranian oil plants and air defence system.

A retaliation firestorm may also include targeted assassinations.

Iran’s crucial Kharg island could be one of Israel’s main targets – which up to 95 per cent of the country’s oil export flows.

Sat 25km off Iran’s coast in the Persian Gulf, it was once the world’s largest offshore crude oil terminal.

The CIA previously said the island was responsible for 90 per cent of Iran’s oil exports before it was heavily bombed in the 1980s.

But even now, according to researcher Dr Eli David, up to 95 per cent of the country’s oil circulation goes through the hub.

With crude supplies in the region under threat, oil prices have soared by more than two per cent.

Iran is understood to be producing more than three million barrels a day – putting it at a five year high.

Helima Croft, head of global commodity strategy at RBC Capital Markets, told CNBC: “There has been a lot of complacency about this war.”

She warned traders have mostly dismissed the threat of oil supply disruptions amid boiling tensions.

Croft added: “We do need to think about a scenario where Iranian oil supplies are at risk.”

Israel could be poised to stage a dramatic retaliation against Iran imminently after Iran’s salvo of missiles barreled towards Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa last night.

The IDF said that it intercepted “a large number” of the 181 ballistic missiles launched by Iran at Israel, thanks to the country’s cooperation with US and British air forces.

Jordan said that it also intercepted a number of missiles and drones over its airspace.

Iran claimed its missile attack had succeeded in striking 90 per cent of its targets amid scenes of jubilation on the streets of capital Tehran.

But western experts discounted the claims and analysts branded the blitz another embarrassing flop and a 320 missile and drone attack in April was also repelled.

The Middle East is now teetering on the edge of a full blown war.

Tensions were high after Israel assassinated Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and launched a ground invasion of south Lebanon on Monday night.

Furious Netanyahu last night slammed Iran for making a “big mistake” and threatened “it will pay for it”.

He warned: “There is also a deliberate and murderous hand behind this attack – it comes from Tehran.

“We will stand by the rule we established: whoever attacks us – we will attack him.”

Israel Defence Forces’ Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari branded the multiple strikes “a severe and dangerous escalation” and warned: “There will be consequences.”

Hagari added: “There were a small number of hits in the centre of Israel, and other hits in Southern Israel.

“The majority of the incoming missiles were intercepted by Israel and a defensive coalition led by the United States.

“Our defensive and offensive capabilities are at the highest levels of readiness.

“Our operational plans are ready. We will respond wherever, whenever, and however we choose, in accordance with the directive of the government of Israel.

“Iran and its proxies have been attacking Israel since the 7th of October on 7 fronts. Iran and its proxies seek the destruction of Israel.

“The Israel Defense Forces will continue doing everything  necessary to defend the State of Israel and protect the people of Israel.”

Homesense is part of the TK Maxx family where you can get plush home pieces for much cheaper than retail price.

One beloved buy of Molly-Mae’s is her £2.99 ribbed glass mugs.

Taking to her home Instagram page, Molly Maison, she shared a series of clips getting her home ready for autumn.

The videos showcased the mum-of-one pouring a cup of peppermint tea into one of her bargain mugs.

She did this with her £2,330 hot tap from Quooker in the shade “painted brass”.

The tap, which has to be fitted by a specialist mechanic, provides instant boiling water.

Molly-Mae penned in the caption: “Hello October.

“My favourite month.”

The influencer picked up her ribbed glass mugs earlier this year and called them a “cute” addition to her tableware collection.

At the same time, she also bought a “huge” jar of bath salts for just £5, which she placed proudly on the edge of her designer tub.

Last Christmas, she showcased a festive table setting that she put together with exclusively Homesense buys.

It included champagne flutes, dainty plates, gold cutlery, serving plates, coasters and more.

To get her home autumn-ready so far this year, Molly-Mae has decorated her sofa with luxury blankets.

Among them is the £1,540 Hermès Avalon Throw Blanket.

She has also placed a four-wick Jo Malone candle worth £100 as centre stage on her living room coffee table.

The autumnal video shared to her home page yesterday also included clips of her lighting the wicks, as well as watching Harry Potter with her one-year-old daughter, Bambi.

The last time Molly-Mae posted on her dedicated home page was June 13.

‘Another relationship struck by Strictly curse’ say fans as Pete Wicks’ ‘romantic’ rehearsal with Jowita is revealed

STRICTLY Come Dancing fans are not giving up hope that Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystał will become an item after their ‘sizzling chemistry’ in a new video.

The pair have become fan favourites just two weeks into the show, with many believing the pair are ‘falling in love’ after becoming close.

And no-one seems to feel the sting of the curse more than Sam Thompson, Pete’s right-hand man and best mate.

Uploading a clip onto TikTok and Instagram, Sam is seen looking jealous as he’s “replaced” by Jowita in Pete’s affections as he sits and watches them rehearse.

Practicing their romantic foxtrot to I Had Some Help by Post Malone and Morgan Wallen, Sam is seen looking upset as Jowita throws herself into Pete’s arms and he guides her across the floor.

Justin Bieber’s The Should Be Me is playing over the clip, with the camera cutting between the pair’s dance and an increasingly zoomed in shot of Sam’s face.

Fans were quick to flock to the comments to discuss Pete and Jowita’s chemistry, saying they are convinced the ‘Strictly curse’ will strike them despite Pete being seen getting cuddly with Love Islander Maura Higgins.

“This has to be the best Strictly curse ever, I have a good feeling about Pete and his partner,” one wrote on Instagram.

While on TikTok, one fan wrote: “Another relationship struck by the the strictly curse” referring to Sam and Pete.

“Get over it Sam.. I definitely think they should be together 😳😂😂😂😍😍😍” said another.

“is she genuinely not supposed to fall in love with Pete staring her in the eyes like that 😅🥰” questioned a third.

While a fourth joked: “The strictly curse has done it again 😭 poor Sam✨

Last weekend, Pete and Jowita revealed the finished dance on the ballroom floor, depicting a country romance between a cowboy and his love interest.

At several points during the routine, the pair came millimetres away from sharing an on-screen kiss, with Pete drawing Jowita close during moves as she hung from his shoulders.

The song even ended with them leaning in for a kiss on a bale of hay while ‘watching the sun set’, before the lights cut off.

Judge Shirley Ballas declared “their chemistry was too hot to handle” while Motsi Mabuse also commented on it.

“I think both of you, you had such a beautiful, flirty, romantic atmosphere, and I believed it was authentic,” she told them.

Despite this, they were only awarded 22 points, putting them in the danger zone for a potential spot in the dance-off.

However, they were saved by viewers votes, with Tom Dean becoming the first star to exit – much to the horror of fans who declared the decision one of the most scandalous early exits in the history of the show.

This week, Pete and Jowita will be back on the dancefloor trying their hand at a samba for Movie Week.

Pete will be turning into George Of The Jungle for the evening to fight for his spot in the competition.
