Ex-Chelsea and England star Wayne Bridge shows off results of hair transplant after go-ahead from Loose Women star wife

WAYNE BRIDGE showed off the results of his hair transplant – after getting the green light from his Loose Women star wife.

Bridge, 44, made his name and fortune after breaking through at Southampton to earn his transfer to Chelsea in 2003.

After six years at Stamford Bridge, he joined Manchester City then finished his club career with Reading in 2014.

He also racked up 36 senior England caps, including featuring at the 2002 World Cup.

But since hanging up his boots a decade ago, the former left-back has noticed he has been thinning on top.

And so he opted to get the treatment done to give himself a thicker mop – in turn giving himself a new boost of confidence.

Bridge is married to former Saturdays singer and Loose Women host Frankie Sandford and revealed she was on board with him getting the procedure done.

The ex-footballer headed to a high-end Harley Street clinic – DHI Global – to get the work done.

It involved removing 4,085 hair follicles individually and then replanting them in the balder areas with a special pen – without the need to shave the whole head.

Bridge said: “I had the hair transplant because I wanted to boost my confidence.

“I have been suffering from hair loss since my mid-30s and I just felt it would give me a bit of a boost to get it sorted. So many men are getting help with their hair and it is really no big deal.

“I told Frankie what I was doing and she was really supportive.

“She said, ‘Go for it,’ and supports anything that makes me feel better about myself.”

Bridge added: “I used to like wearing my hair long but my thinning hair became more noticeable when I grew it. I thought of just shaving it all off but a better solution was a hair transplant.

“You hear about women having procedures to improve their appearance all the time and it is great that it is no big deal for men now, too.

“It is great that we can all be open about it and hopefully we will inspire more men to seek help. The boost in confidence can be really good for your mental health.”

Bridge revealed he was inspired to get the treatment after a celebrity friend recommended the London specialists, whose treatments start from £3,000 and where cricketer Phil Tufnell went for his new look.

He explained: “I bumped into him at a wedding and his hair looked great.

“He explained that he had gone to DHI because the treatment is so discreet and no one knows you have had it done until all the hair has grown back.

“I wanted the very best treatment in the world with the shortest downtime and that was always going to be DHI.

HAIR WE GO

“You read about patients going abroad for hair transplants but that was never going to be an option for me.

“The best clinics in the world are here and it is reassuring to know that the team is next to Harley Street for the aftercare. Who wants to jump on a flight to check on their hair if something goes wrong?

“What I particularly like about this treatment is that you don’t have to have your entire head shaved.

“They literally pick the donor hairs out and then implant them directly where you have the bald spots with very little fuss.

“There is very little disturbance to the scalp and the final results are completely natural.

“It means the downtime after the operation is minimal and I can quickly get back to doing what I love, which is staying fit and enjoying time with my family.”

Bridge tied the knot with glamorous Frankie in July 2014 – nine months after their son Parker was born.

Their second son Carter arrived in August 2015.

The ex-footballer appeared in the 2016 series of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and then won the debut season of SAS: Who Dares Wins after trekking a glacier in Chile.

He is also a keen poker player and admitted his style can be “kamikaze” when he appears in tournaments.

  • The card will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
  • The fight is one of the main draws on the undercard of the undisputed clash between Dimitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev.

  • In the UK, all of TNT Sports, DAZN and Sky Sports have rights to show the event on pay per view.

  • Jai Opetaia vs Jack Massey (for IBF cruiserweight title)
  • Ben Whittaker vs Liam Cameron
  • Skye Nicolson vs Raven Chapman (for WBC women’s featherweight title)
  • Mohammaed Alakel vs Jesus Gonzalez

What’s been said?

Wardley said: “The landscape, it’s definitely in a massive changing of the guard right now, with [Tyson] Fury losing, with [Anthony Joshua] losing, [Deontay] Wilder, [Joe] Joyce losing, [Derek] Chisora obviously winning but we know that he’s only got a couple left, so you don’t really throw him in that mix.

“A lot of the people that were at the top, or you would have said were next up, have picked up losses on the way.

“One-thousand per cent I’m in the mix. I’m one fight away from being in that top echelon.

“Clean out Frazer and then I’m in that mix, I’m the next one in question.

Clarke said: “[I will end the fight] within six [rounds], I think.

“I have just analysed the fight, I hurt him countless, countless times. It was just my follow up that was wrong, that was all. No big deal.

“I put a lot of work in and damaged him in a lot of different areas and then I saw it [the opening], chased him the wrong way and just kind of let him off of the hook.

“When I knocked him down in the fifth round, if that is the first minute of the round and not the third – I will get him out of there.

“There is no time in my career where you have seen someone hurt and I have knocked them down and I have not got rid of them. You have never seen that from me.

“Every opponent that I have ever faced has hit the canvas, so that speaks for itself in terms of being able to get people out of there.

“It’s perfectly within my realm, it is perfectly within my capabilities. I just need to be a bit more tidier in a couple of places and I have got it covered.”

Do I need dust caps on my car tyres? Five reasons why you SHOULD use them

WHETHER it’s new brake pads or window screens, drivers often have to keep an eye on their vehicles.

Checking your dust caps are an essential part of a car hygiene routine, but many people still don’t know their actual purpose. Here’s why you should use them.

Dust Caps for Car Tyre
Dust caps are vital to keep your tyres working for longer
The Sun

What is a dust cap on a car?

Tyre valves control the airflow in and out of your car tyres, ensuring proper performance.

To protect these valves, dust caps (also known as valve caps) are fitted over their ends.

Although they are a relatively inexpensive car accessory, dust caps play a crucial role in vehicle safety.

They cover the tyre valve, blocking dust, dirt, and debris.

You might also hear them referred to as tyre valve caps or simply tyre caps.

Why should you use dust caps?

There are five main reasons why you should use dust caps.

They are an inexpensive yet essential way to protect the health and hygiene of your tyre valves.

It helps block dust and other particles from entering the valve, protecting it from potential damage.

And did you know that dust caps also help maintain tyre pressure

If they are faulty, missing, or not fitting correctly, dust can enter the valve, slowly forcing out air and causing a loss of pressure.

By simply buying and fitting dust caps, you can avoid the hassle, time, and cost of repairs caused by dirt entering your valves.

As a result, it keeps you safe on the road because a poorly inflated tyre can cause a blowout.

It also prevents you from spending extra as an underinflated tyre hastens your tyre’s wear rate.

Aesthetics may not matter much to some drivers, but always look for your tyre caps if it’s a major consideration.

Today, most dust caps are made from affordable plastic and easily screw onto the valve’s opening.

However, metal and alloy versions are also available.

Although they are more expensive, they are sturdier than plastic options and tend to come with an integrated seal.

It’s important to check your tyre pressures regularly, and dust caps help to maintain airflow

The only downside to metal dust caps is that they can sometimes attract theft.

Fortunately, most valve caps are designed to be one-size-fits-all, so there’s usually no need to search for a specific cap for your vehicle.

However, if you want to be extra certain, consult your car manufacturer or local garage.

As your car travels, vibrations can cause dust caps to loosen or become damaged.

Hence, it’s a good idea to check them regularly to make sure they are still secure.

Is it safe to drive without dust caps?

While driving without an air valve cap is generally safe, it’s advisable to replace it as soon as possible to keep dust and debris out of your tyres.

Without a cap, dirt and moisture can build up on the valve stem, potentially causing damage over time.

Valve caps also play a minor role in preventing air from slowly escaping the tyre and protect the valve from foreign objects.

Thankfully, air valve caps are both inexpensive and easy to replace.

They are readily available at auto parts stores and online retailers, making it simple to keep your tyres in top condition and avoid unnecessary repairs.

However, it’s worth noting that there’s been a spike in anti-theft dust cap sales as eco-warriors have been targeting people’s wheels.

Anti-theft dust caps, also known as valve caps, include a special keyring tool that makes it almost impossible to remove them.

There are many different variations of the anti-theft dust caps, but they all do the same thing.

You can easily pick them up online for around £10 to £15.

Ibiza and Majorca to hit tourists with extra fees for travelling in peak season from next year

HOLIDAYMAKERS travelling to the Balearic Islands will see the tourist tax rise next year.

In a bid to combat overtourism, local government officials in the Balearics announced a tourist tax rise.

The rates of tourist tax are set to increase in the Balearics[/caption]

Brit holidaymakers heading to Majorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera will pay more tourist tax in June, July and August.

While the exact figure hasn’t been announced, the tourist tax in the high season is set to increase, according to the Balearic President, Marga Prohens.

The new measure, which has been dubbed an “eco-tax” was announced during the General Policy Debate of the Community.

Local government officials have yet to determine the exact increase in tourist charges.

This is because the Balearic Government is looking for formulas so that residents will not pay the “eco-tax” through tax deductions.

Tourist tax charges during the low season (December, January and February) could be reduced in a bid to encourage more visitors to the islands in the colder months of the year.

It is not yet known if the low-season tourist charge will remain at its present level (making it lower than the proposed charge) or be reduced further.

Visitors to the Spanish islands currently have to pay the same level of tourist tax throughout the whole year, whether low or high season.

Current tourist charges cost anything up to €5 a night extra, payable on arrival, depending on the quality of the accommodation.

Balearic President, Marga Prohens also announced other tourist restrictions, such as limiting the number of rental properties for holidaymakers.

All new tourist rental places in all multi-family homes are set to be banned as part of the tourism measures.

Properties that already rent to tourists won’t be impacted by the announcement.

In a statement, Marga Prohens added: “The discomfort of residents due to the externalities of tourism is increasingly unanimous and transversal.

“This summer‘s demonstrations are a test, and we cannot put ourselves in profile because we listen to everyone.”

Despite the measures, the Balearic President stressed the importance of the tourism sector for the islands, by adding: “we are a hospitable land where tourists are welcome”.

A law is set to be approved in February, which will bring the measures into force.

The news comes after a series of anti-tourism protests took place on the Balearic Islands throughout the summer.

In May, over 15,000 locals took to the streets in Palma, Majorca to campaign against tourists visiting the island.

OTHER TOURIST CHARGES

Earlier this year, Greece introduced a new levy for overnight visitors in a bid to combat the damage caused by extreme weather conditions.

Holidaymakers traveling to Greece during the high season (from March to October) are required to pay an additional tax on overnight stays.

Just like the previous tax, the rate will vary depending on the type of accommodation tourists have booked, and it will range from €1 (£0.86) to €4 (£3.45) per night.

The new tax will be added to the country’s existing accommodation tax, with charges rising as a result.

All holidaymakers heading to Tunisia will be forced to pay a new tourist tax under plans outlined by the country’s government.

What is a tourist tax?

  •  A ‘tourist tax’ – also known as a ‘transient visitor levy’ – is a fee applied to short-stay accommodation.
  • They are often imposed in cities with strong tourist economies, in countries such as Canada, Spain, Germany, Belgium and France.
  • A tourist tax normally takes the form of a charge per occupied bed or room per night, within short-term accommodation providers.
  • The charge can be set at a flat rate or a series of flat rates (for example, €2 per bed per night), or it can be set as a percentage of the price of the bed or room.
  • Tourist taxes are sometimes set at different rates for different times of the year.
  • Some cities exempt, or give discounts for beds occupied by children or those travelling for medical reasons.
  • Others impose different rates on campsites, bed and breakfasts, non-serviced accommodation, or hotels with different star ratings.

Meanwhile, this popular tourist destination is also planning to increase its daily tourist charge.

And this UK seaside town became the first to tax tourists this year.

‘You’re a disgrace!’ rage EastEnders fans as they call out soap’s ‘stupid’ affair plot

BBC viewers have been left angered by a ‘stupid’ storyline in EastEnders as Cindy and Junior’s romance evolves.

EastEnders viewers have watched as Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) and Junior Knight (Micah Balfour) have let their romance continue, but the blossoming love isn’t sitting well with viewers.

The couples romantic affair is starting to grate on viewers who label it as ‘a disgrace’.[/caption]

With Cindy formerly married to Junior’s father, some soap fans feel the relationship is twisted with others labelling it ‘disgusting’.

One viewer wrote on social media: “Look at you catching feelings for your dads ugly ex wife. Junior you’re a disgrace.”

Another added: “I’m shocked how the storyline of Cindy and Junior shagging is still going on.”

Other viewers also declared they are sick of seeing the couple, as one wrote: “Cindy and Junior, Freddie and Anna, Suki and Eve. All about as interesting as watching paint dry. I’d rather see goldie oldies Kathy and Harvey getting it on I reckon.”

Another shared: “I would rather go to the dentist than see more Junior Cindy George.”

“the whole square is being squished to death and then it cuts to cindy and junior just having sex and we’re supposed to care like pls get rid of these people im sick of them,” said another.

Another BBC viewer also joked that there were many things they would rather see instead of Cindy and Junior. Their list included “Phil saying my boy”, “Stacey being poor” and “Sonia being on screen”.

Upcoming episodes will see Junior turn to his father George to confess he thinks he’s catching feelings for a mystery woman.

Admitting that he’s starting to fall hard for his mystery woman, Junior goes as far to say that he’s having feelings for his secret fling and he thinks she feels the same way.

Yet he doesn’t fill George in on all the details and let him know that Junior’s new crush is in fact his ex wife.

Meanwhile Cindy is keeping her secret love affair hidden from husband Ian, but she also has an extra spanner in the works as her old lover David Wicks is back in the square.

The love triangle between Ian, David and Cindy is longstanding, with Ian making no secret of the hatred he feels for David – who he blames for costing him his marriage.

David’s dangerous affair also nearly saw the end of Ian, as Cindy hired a hitman to kill him off and allow her to escape into the sunset with David.
