Fans are racing to Poundland to nab ‘sweet smelling’ perfumes that are dupes for Dior’s £95 J’Adore but MILES cheaper

CASH-SAVVY beauty buffs are scrambling to Poundland after the retailer launched brand new perfumes they reckon are dupes of iconic scents.

The popular discount brand has long been the go-to place for affordable beauty bits – and their latest perfume range is no exception.

What’s more, not only are the prices purse-friendly, selling at just £4 each, the scents are also thought to be very similar to high-end aromas we all love.

So if you’re on the lookout for cheap perfume – or are already stocking up for Christmas gifts that won’t break the bank – keep on reading.

Amongst the goodies beauty buffs have been raving over on Facebook include Poundland’s Pink Plush – a £4 version of Moschino’s Toy 2 Bubblegum, going for £43.

Another pink-themed bottle is their new Quartz – a sweet-smelling aroma shoppers say is a dupe of Paco Rabanne’s Fame.

Unlike the Poundland’s lookalike, the posh version will set you back close to a whopping £55 – meaning you’re saving yourself a staggering £50.

Meanwhile, if you love spritzing yourself with Katy Perry’s Purr, £28, but want to try out something cheaper, fans advise to check out Perfect Seduction.

The adorable black cat-themed bottle is a major win in itself – so even if you don’t enjoy the scent, you’ll have a cute little home decor piece.

Then there’s also Opulent Fizz – which is very fitting to the festive season around the corner.

Priced at a budget-friendly £4, this champagne glass-shaped perfume is believed to be an alternative to the cult favourite Dior J’Adore, £94.99.

The store has also launched something for men – or anyone who likes the more masculine notes of lavender, vanilla and lemon found in Paco Rabanne’s Phantom.

Filled inside a fun silver robot, Poundland’s Platinum Pour Homme is a more affordable dupe of the posh scent that retails for close to £70.

The purse-friendly collection, which hit the stores recently, has already taken the internet by storm, with fans rushing to Facebook to share the news.

One shopper, Nat Fergusson, took to Poundland Appreciation Society, where she wrote: ”Some fab fragrances at only £4 each!”

An ex employee on Poundland's prices

Holly Laing, 22, from Northampton, has revealed she used to work in Poundland and often heard customers say the same annoying thing.

Holly claimed she worked for Poundland in 2015 for three months as a Christmas temp.

She said that customers would get annoyed when products cost more than £1 individually.

In a comical video, Holly acted out a scenario that often occurred on her shift at the bargain store, where customers were always baffled and irritated that items could cost over £1.

Holly uploaded her video with the caption “I heard this a lot” as she said: “POV: Not everything’s £1 in Poundland”.

Holly explained that customers would often say to her: “But this is the pound shop, is it not?”

“That’s very misleading, I’ll only pay for that if it’s a pound.”

“Disgusting, what a rip off.”

The customer, who’d spotted the new additions in the Sittingbourne branch, described the aromas as ”smelling sweet”.

One fan of the store said: ”I’d love the cat one for an ornament just!”

Another agreed, writing: ”The bottles are as pretty as anything designer.”

Someone else tagger their pal, saying: ”We will have to look for these ones.”

A fourth chimed in: ”The gold bottle is meant to be jadore dior smells the same.”

You’ve been storing your baked beans all wrong and Heinz have even invented a tin to help us stop making this mistake

HEINZ has sparked a rush to buy baked beans in a new style tin that corrects a commonly made storage mistake.

Many people are unaware of a simple trick that ensures “every last bean” gets out of the can.

Whether enjoying baked beans as a side at dinner or with toast for breakfast, it can be frustrating getting them all out of the can.

Professor Charles Spence, who specialises in food design at the University of Oxford, said the problem is caused by the shape of tins.

“The cylindrical shape and narrow opening of Heinz Beanz tins, the beans become trapped in unreachable angles, only made more difficult due to the thick sauce that is distinctively Heinz,” said Spence.

“However, when stored upside down, the beans don’t settle at the ‘bottom’ of the tin, making it easier to enjoy every last bean.”

Gravity is not in home cooks’ favour when it comes to shaking the beans out.

However, the issue can be easily resolved by storing the cans upside down to prevent settling at the bottom.

Heinz has announced the release of Limited Edition Upside Down Beanz for £1.40 per can to help people get into the habit of storing them correctly.

“We go all in to make the best-tasting Baked Beanz in Britain – from sourcing beans that are brimming with goodness, to making our rich and thick sauce,” said Alessandra de Dreuille, the director of meals at Heinz.

“So, it’s no wonder our customers go to irrational lengths to enjoy every single bean from their tin.

“We hope our upside down label makes more people aware of the hack and they continue to store their beans upside down even after this limited-edition release runs out.”

Research by the manufacturer revealed that around 40% of Brits eat baked beans weekly.

One in ten foodies have confessed to struggling to get any remaining beans out of the tin.

Social media users were surprised by the announcement that Heinz was correcting the issue with the release of limited edition cans.

“Checks the date—-nope, not the 1st of April,” a user on X wrote.

Other social media users said they were already storing their cans upside down.

“I’ve been storing beans upside down for years. I think I learnt the trick from Facebook,” one person said on X.

What foods should you ALWAYS keep in the fridge?

THE 'King of Bread' Paul Hollywood has said you should never keep bread in the fridge. But what foods SHOULD you store in there?

According to EUFIC, The European Food Information Council, these are some of the main foods you should always ensure are kept in the fridge.

  • Apples
  • Berries
  • Butter
  • Cheese
  • Eggs (boiled or unboiled)
  • Fish (cooked or raw)
  • Fresh herbs
  • Lemons
  • Meat (cooked or raw)
  • Milk
  • Oranges

  • Salad leaves
  • Tomatoes
  • Yoghurts

“I open it on the bottom side,” another quipped on Facebook.

A third revealed they use a spoon to get any beans that are stuck in the can.

“Jeezuz. People do not have spoons in their households?” they said.

“I wonder how I can have survived to this age without upside-down tins.”

Over two million cans of baked beans are eaten by Brits every day.
